“I’ve been going here with my family for the past 10 years when we are visiting on vacation. It’s not a beach trip without visiting the bakery at least 3 times during the week. The turnovers are great. The pigs in a blanket are addicting. I love their croissant sandwiches and biscuits and gravy! Lighthouse Bakery is a staple in the community. Would recommend this place to everyone to go try.”

“The fried shrimp here shall from this day on, until forever, be the standard I will use against all other attempts at fried shrimp! It was just about perfect. Great value, quick service. Its pretty tight in the restaurant and outdoor seating is a bit dirty, and there is quite a bit of lunch traffic, so seating is at a premium. Oyster po'boy is good too, but shrimp platter is better.”

“A great Bayou la Batre type restaurant with good food and service. If you want all of the frills that you'll most likely pay extra, go to a Franchised restaurant in the city and miss all of the shrimp boats and ship builders in the area. Sure they make a mistake every once and awhile, many are far worse since covid. I like it !”

Everything from delicious gourmet hot boiled peanuts(think fresh peppers) to gloriously groomed beautiful and reasonably priced produce and Gloria herself. She reminded me of a Parisian shopkeeper; she knows and cares about your selections! And she was an IU Mendoza fan so this IU grad is firmly in her fan club!”

“Overall had a good time but would be lieing if I said it didnt fall a little short. This restaurant has some real potential. To start with everything was good, but not impressive. This restaurant is very beautiful, new, and has a nice ambiance. The food and service were both a 3/5, I would've loved to leave this place a 5 star but there was too many reasons not to.

Service- We had a decent server, she lacked a little knowledge about the menu and drinks but was kind and did a alright job. There is no single bartender or host so all the servers were making drinks which took the attention away from the table itself so there was prolonged periods of time with empty drinks. Less importantly, I was disappointed with the sports bar staff attire given its easily the 2nd nicest restaurant on the island.

Food- The food was good but not great, fortunately the prices did reflect that which is a extreme positive. $20-$25 for a entree and that's accurately what its worth. Two downsides of the food was most of the table had chicken, it was obviously the cheapest frozen chicken breast they could buy. Some chicken was way to soft and pasty while other pieces were chewy. Additionally no crust or seasoning at all. Secondly the grill cheese was overcooked, granted the simplicity and slow pace of the restaurant this was a big oversight in my opinion.

Overall a 4/5 and most importantly I would come back, but id be a little more cautious about what I ordered.”

“My family loves The Lighthouse! We had the best experience this evening. My sister & I brought our kids after the DI Mardi Gras parade. Two adults with a 6 year old, two 5 year olds, a 1 year old & a 9 month old. We had a 35 minute wait, but it went by fast. We had a great server, she was so sweet. Our girls were a little loud, but the whole restaurant was loud due to it being busy, a drink got spilled but we cleaned it up. We had two older women and a man sit at the table behind us & they were constantly staring, talking about us & our children. I guess we were a bother to them, I was very upset about it. After we paid, a tall man who works in the back came out and told us not to go anywhere yet, that he had something for the girls. He brought out 3 popsicles & opened them for them 🩷 My sister said he had been looking out from behind the counter and thought he had noticed the situation. Even if he didn’t, he was so kind and it made everything better. Just made me love the restaurant even more. Our food was 10/10 as always!”

“I am blown away at this place!!! 100/10 ALL AROUND!!! The staff was extremely friendly and gave us really great recs for things to do around the island! She was very knowledgeable about the menu and was so sweet. I got an iced white mocha and a cheese danish and was not disappointed. The danish was so tasty and had an amazing flavor. My coffee was top tier also! I will definitely be back here AND recommending this to my friends and family!”
