“My family loves The Lighthouse! We had the best experience this evening. My sister & I brought our kids after the DI Mardi Gras parade. Two adults with a 6 year old, two 5 year olds, a 1 year old & a 9 month old. We had a 35 minute wait, but it went by fast. We had a great server, she was so sweet. Our girls were a little loud, but the whole restaurant was loud due to it being busy, a drink got spilled but we cleaned it up. We had two older women and a man sit at the table behind us & they were constantly staring, talking about us & our children. I guess we were a bother to them, I was very upset about it. After we paid, a tall man who works in the back came out and told us not to go anywhere yet, that he had something for the girls. He brought out 3 popsicles & opened them for them 🩷 My sister said he had been looking out from behind the counter and thought he had noticed the situation. Even if he didn’t, he was so kind and it made everything better. Just made me love the restaurant even more. Our food was 10/10 as always!”

“The fried shrimp here shall from this day on, until forever, be the standard I will use against all other attempts at fried shrimp! It was just about perfect. Great value, quick service. Its pretty tight in the restaurant and outdoor seating is a bit dirty, and there is quite a bit of lunch traffic, so seating is at a premium. Oyster po'boy is good too, but shrimp platter is better.”

“A great Bayou la Batre type restaurant with good food and service. If you want all of the frills that you'll most likely pay extra, go to a Franchised restaurant in the city and miss all of the shrimp boats and ship builders in the area. Sure they make a mistake every once and awhile, many are far worse since covid. I like it !”

“This is a hidden gem! We eat here regularly lunch specials are great as well as dinner. My son could have a gallon of thier miso and he also loves the dragon roll. Service is always excellent. Mr. Johnny has the best spot in town for sushi and hibachi! Cocktails are always on point too!”

“got the pulled pork sandwich. meat had ZERO flavor and was as dry as boomer humor. the seasoning sauce was water scared with garlic powder. potato salad was disrespectfully disgusting. banana pudding was watery and the bananas were black. green beans were dumped from a can and had less seasoning than printer paper. Mac and cheese was essentially just pasta in a cheese water sauce and the atrocity of what they dare to call sweet tea was an insult to all southerners. get a better staff too. they carried a conversation and it was quite clear they wanted to keep talking when I was approaching. the lady at the pickup register talked over me and was obviously annoyed to be at work.”

“Hands down the best King Cakes on the Gulf Coast Be wary ordering Connecuh and Jalapeno Cream cheese to share at work.. they'll expect you to buy more and bring them in Absolutely love the individual Bavarian and Strawberry Cream Cheese King Cakes”

Everything from delicious gourmet hot boiled peanuts(think fresh peppers) to gloriously groomed beautiful and reasonably priced produce and Gloria herself. She reminded me of a Parisian shopkeeper; she knows and cares about your selections! And she was an IU Mendoza fan so this IU grad is firmly in her fan club!”
