“This was a tough review for me. Party of 3. We had never been to Dumbwaiter before and I had a work colleague with us. I had been given rave reviews from others. Very nice restaurant. Atmosphere was great. We arrived at 6:15 and was seated immediately. We got the first round of drinks quickly and ended up ordering an appetizer. It was delicious. Then, we waited and waited and waited some more and ordered more drinks and waited some more. Our waitress apologized. Apparently, the kitchen was backed up. Odd thing was the table beside us sat at least 20 min after us and received their entrees before us. They even ate and were leaving by the time we got our entrees. The food would have been great. I can tell it would have but my girlfriend's plate died. Steak was dry and sauce had a film over it. Grits had dried out. Had it all been fresh, I'm sure it would have been great. Service from the waitress was great but the kitchen failed us on this one.“

The only complaint I have is the mushroom “soup” was eaten with a fork—it was more like a hummus. But the flavor was on point! Thanks for a great evening.“

“I’ve been here plenty of times and have enjoyed it every time. However, this time was different. Our server, Sonia (I think that’s the spelling) was the difference. Although she suddenly had her whole section sat at once, and if you’ve ever been a server before you know how stressful that can be, she still kept up a lively dialogue with not only us but all of her tables! Honestly, I hope she is always my server. She was awesome!“
