“I have several friends & family who will not go with me to Chop Suey Inn because of your poor health department rating. (a score of 50, I’ve been told)Please clean up your act. Every customer is a valuable asset you don’t want to lose.“
“Nice, quiet, peaceful dining area. We got the Cream Cheese Harumaki, the Combination Egg Foo Young, and the Orange Chicken. The Orange Chicken was our favorite. We got a side of hot chili oil that we added to it, it was great. Bold citrus flavor with orange peel zest, sweet, bitter, and spicy. Very nice.Want to try the Twice Cooked Pork next time!“
“When you first walk in you see a beautifully decorated restaurant. We got the pork belly and the beef brisket. The pork belly was out of this world amazing. It has this little amazing fried potatoes cut in pieces that were so delicious with the pork belly. The potatoes and belly were in this delightful sauce that I could have eaten just on the white rice.“
“Some of the best Chinese in Birmingham. Our favorite approach is to not go at a peak time. If you do this, the service and food prep is fast and the dining area is quiet. Lovely environment, the lighting and decorations are very tasteful. We got the Homemade Pork Buns as an appetizer, they were delicious and authentic, slightly sweet fluffy buns with a savory and juicy stuffing. The Double Spicy Chicken is probably our favorite entree we've had so far, light and crispy breading, and a couple types of peppers. Awesome flavor. The spice went great with the Pork Buns. We also got Sauteed Sliced Pork Belly. It was really good too. Can't wait to come back and try more things on the menu.“
“Service was excellent, and so was the food. Everything we ate was delicious. Not one complaint. We went on a Friday night around 6:45 and our party of 4 sat right down. Our server gave recommendations that were spot on. We had crab Rangoon, dumplings, egg rolls, hunan delight, orange chicken, sesame chicken, fried rice. All exceptional. Portions are very large.Updating to say we had lunch here. Lunch menu is affordable. Service was great and food was excellent again!“
“They were short on staff ,and I think there was only one person in the kitchen, and someone young running the counter. They had the food prepared on time and it was hot and delicious, they certainly didn’t skip out on any proportions and would highly recommend them. They never let us down when we go“
“We LOVE this place so much! The food is delicious! The staff are so kind and friendly, and the atmosphere is clean! We do wish they played music but maybe one day they will :)We like to get the egg rolls, the grilled chicken hibachi, and the clear soup“
“Happy China has hands down the best Chinese in town. Unfortunately I don't go to this side of town often but when I do I stop in for a quick bite! Their egg drop and wonton soup is amazing! Warm, hearty and its own flavor compared to other Chinese establishments in the area. We also really love the owner and her kids - they are so sweet. You feel like family. I can't recommend Happy China enough!“
“I went there because my husband and I were tired of every restaurant skimping on the meat and putting in too much filler. It was great food, cooked well, and a good price. It actually has no atmosphere -- It is a take-out place -- but I didn't want their rating to be impacted by something that is not relevant so I gave them a 5 on that too.“
“Being burnt out on traditional holiday fare, we decided to snag Christmas Day lunch here, followed by a takeout order for a warm night inside. First, the service and food were very good, and the selection was varied and stayed freshly refilled. But what really surprised me, even more than the number of nontraditional family groups enjoying their holiday meal there, was that the manager seemed to know so many of the people there. And not just know who they were... she greeted them with hugs and names, and grinned her way through a hundred "Merry Christmas"es at least. I was highly impressed. Will definitely be stopping back by the Wok on my next trip to the area.“
“10’s across the board! I got the general tso chicken it came with fried rice and an egg roll and it was fantastic. My boyfriend and I decided to try a new food spot and this was a great pick. Good quality food kinda expensive though tbh which was $45 for two people but nonetheless I would definitely recommend and I will be a returning customer ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️“
“Food tastes freshly cooked, prices are very fair. The portions could be larger but the quality is significantly better than anywhere else I've been so I'm fine with it. Less than $12 for lunch and a large drink is better than a fast food restraunt and much better.“
“We ordered takeout from Mr. Chen’s in Homewood today - our first experience with this restaurant. Placed order by phone with ease and our food was ready and packed when we arrived. The Mongolian Beef and Triple Delight were both delicious. The staff was friendly and professional. The atmosphere of the dining area was inviting and we look forward to eating in next time - and having a look through the market! ??“
“China Bistro is my go to place for good Chinese food. The staff is always nice and accommodating. My food has always been ready when they say it will be ready!Dietary restrictions: They never have a problem modifying an entree to make it Vegan.“
“Lol, the very first review says "authentic" Chinese food....errr.....no. It's really not lol. You want authentic, try Mr.Chen's, some of their menu items are indeed authentic. Anyway, the food here is pretty standard for "Chinese" restaurants like these. Good sized portion with okay food. Good value for your money, but don't expect too much. I personally think the dishes with water chestnut can do without quite so much of it....and I like water chestnut! Not a fan of their egg rolls at all. I do like their soups that come with the lunch specials though. No specific recommendations....honestly all the dishes seem pretty similar when you get them!“
