“From the moment we were seated, the service at Black Bear Diner in Gilbert exceeded expectations; and that was largely thanks to our server, Chase (Aiden). Despite managing a full section, he never made us feel rushed or overlooked. Quite the opposite—he took the time to make us feel genuinely welcome and at home. Chase was not only attentive but also clearly knowledgeable about the menu and options. He carried himself with a confidence that showed he takes pride in his work and truly cares about each guest’s experience. Watching him interact with other tables, it was obvious we weren’t the only ones who appreciated his excellent service—everyone seemed to enjoy his energy. As for the food: no complaints whatsoever. Both of our meals were hot, fresh, and delicious. Great portions, great flavors, and served exactly as ordered. All around, it was a great experience. If you’re heading to this location, I highly recommend asking for Chase, he’s a standout and made our visit even better.“

“Food and service were great. We ordered the Carne Asada bowl to split not knowing that it was spicy. My wife really can't do spicy. The server asked us how we liked our meal and we said even tho it was very tasty it was too spicy for my wife. She immediately said what else can I get for you. And suggested a grilled chicken breast and promptly got it for her. No extra charge. We appreciate that kind of service. Overall a great experience ! We are from out of town but would definitely go back next time in town .“

“I have been a wine member here for years. Love the wine tastings and always enjoy going in for the wine of the month. There is flexibility to change the tastings for a glass. I am hard of hearing with hearing aids but I can have conversations without struggling whether I am in the dining room or bar. I have great service from a number of servers which include Cade (very personable, makes you feel like you are the only person in the room), Mike (funny), Frank (funny, very knowledgeable of the membership and got me known about the member dinners!) and Greg (funny). I would dine with them all again and have. The wine bar is a fun atmosphere and you get to meet others while you are there. Ciera is new. I love the trivia she brings, knowledgeable of the wines and just very sweet. Stephanie has been there for years, knows her wines and has great suggestions. Greg is one of the managers and also works at the wine bar. He is funny, knows his wines and knows what I like and would not. Coopers Hawk is my go to for all occasions.“

“4/14/2024 Just had an amazing experience with our large group, celebrating my niece's graduation from nursing school. We rented the Heritage Room and it exceeded my expectations. Our server, Nikki (not sure how she spells it! I'm also a Niki and I know that there are 300 diff ways to spell it haha!) was outstanding. So unbelievably helpful, attentive and kind. She handled a group of 26 guests like it was a basic party of 8. She took care of each guest with ease and was quick to respond with food requests. Thanks again, Nikki!!!“

“10/1/2022 just ate breakfast this morning. Had make your own breakfast. Sausage overcooked hard to eat even to cut. Looked darker. Haah brown overcooked. Both sides dark and brittle. Just breaks apart. Egg whites scramble still watery. My granddaughter same sausage patties. My wife same breakfast as mine same problems. We have eaten dinner there so many times. Just awesome. No problem. But this morning don't know. No more breakfast.“

I ordered eggs benedict - the whites on my egg were so runny/raw, instead of ham steak they used sliced ham which wasn't even fried it was cold on top of the english muffin, the sauce was good but overall the best part of the meal was the potatoes which were warm and good., the eggs/ham were room temp if even that. My daughter took me for brunch she likes the place, I wanted to go to a diner, she chose there - I am not a fan. Presentation of the food was nice, but i like my food warm/hot that plate felt like it was sitting there before i was served.“

“I had come in today to have lunch here, was craving yalls strawberry creme crepes! However I was VERY dissatisfied with the server. The server never came and greeted me. I sat for a few minutes looking around to see if anyone was gonna help me. Gomez must of saw me and came to my table and asked if I had been helped, I told him no. He apologized and asked what he could get me to drink, he also took my order for me. Gomez was soooo nice and attentive to the whole restaurant. Later a different person came to my table with my food, I am assuming my server who again still has not introduced himself. After receiving my food I once again never saw my server. I complained, and demanded to know who my so called server was and I was informed his name is Aaron S. Again was apologized to by other staff. Sounds Like Aaron S needs to be trained better or find a different career path because hiding in the back and making all the other staff do your work isn't good practice anywhere! Thank you again Gomez for being a rockstar and caring about customers, and the service they receive!“

“Took my wife to enjoy her favorite meal Halibut on Mother’s Day. High Tide did not disappoint. She loved it and so did I and I’m not a fish eater. Everything about the meal was spot on. The chef did a fantastic job. We have been getting tired of the quality and what the competition around the area have been putting out. Firebird’s can’t cook a piece of Salmon, Buck and Riders theirs comes out of that kitchen dripping in grease. I’m glad we came back to High Tide to celebrate this special day and really enjoyed a great meal. This place was jammed and the service was excellent.“

“We’ve had the pleasure of eating at this Applebee’s in Gilbert a few time and have gotten to appreciate their consistencies and inconsistencies fairly well. At this location our fave go to items include the Classic Bone-in Wings, Spinach and Artichoke Dip, the Chicken Wonton Tacos, the Broccoli Chicken, to name a few. This last visit we stopped in for a munch while in the neighborhood I started with a Dos Equis Draft and my wife the Margarita. We then both splurged on their Classic Combo Appetizer with Boneless Wings, Spinach & Artichoke Dip, Chicken Quesadilla, and Mozzarella Sticks. Mmmm good! It is nearly impossible in todays world to not discover conglomerates operating restaurants that can actually provide 1) amazing service: 4.0, 2) excellent attention to detail especially in hospitality: 3.5, 3) cleanliness, hygiene and comfort in their décor, amenities and lavatories: 3.5, 4) an abundant and/or varied food and/or product menu: 4.0, 5) consistently appetizing offerings: 3.5, 6) a sincere customer service: 3.5, 7) unique, innovative or specialized menus: 3.5, 8) value and price of meals: 4.5 , and most of all, 9) the inert desire of one wanting to return, again and again for the experience gained: 4.0. These are some if not most of what my basic requirements are when visiting one of these establishments each time. My wife and I, although not professional reviewers, are connoisseurs of excellent foods whether a fine upscale cuisine, middle of the road common eats, or a low-end fast-food joint. In this way, I have developed a to-the-point method for determining the personal worthiness of each establishment visited as noted in my opening. Simplified, each requisite noted for the establishment visited best scored by my highest score offered. Applebee’s - Gilbert scores a pretty darn good score of 4.25 of a potential 5.0. Keep up the good work guys!“

Our server managed her whole area with ease, and without making us feel like we were overwhelming her. She gave us enough space to converse about the business that we needed to tend to, and she was extremely sweet. The area was a little loud but we did not mind. Because the food was out of this world. Even though it was a business lunch, I decided to splurge on my team with bloody Mary's and they were fantastic. We got the bacon appetizer, the french toast appetizer, and I had a breakfast sandwich that tasted like an elevated McDonald's Mcgriddle. It was extraordinary. I will definitely come back with friends or even by myself. I am dreaming about all the other delicious menu items that I can't wait to taste. Bravo!“

“First time consumer here and on Mother’s Day. I ordered the mimosa flight with chips and salsa. The server and the bartender were very kind and courteous. Downfall, it took a significant amount of time just to place an order for the drinks and then to receive the drinks. Received a glass of water but with the heat - the temperature of the water changed quickly. The server was kind enough to brink be a bigger glass with more ice and water. It was at least 100 outside - the misters were not turned on. That coupled with the time it took for me to receive the mimosa flights and the temperature of the mimosas- I will not be a return customer. **Update - when I arrived there were only 4 other patrons. And my food and drink order still took quite a long time. I had to ask for water glass. Then ask for glass with ice water. The bartender must be a novice - he had to keep looking at something while putting together the mimosa flight - the champagne should have been chilled and was not! Soo many issues now that I am thinking more on my encounter.“

“Brunch with Mrs. V. @ one of our fave brunch eateries in downtown Gilbert. Frannie ordered the Chili Verde Benedict which she described as absolutely amazingly. I ordered Juan’s Breakfast Tacos (My go to) which had flavor for days. A beautiful Fall day, 85° and sunny, provided perfect weather for outdoor seating. Our server, Camille, was extraordinarily friendly, and engaging. The GM, Mariam visited our table and presented us with a complimentary cinnamon roll pancake (off their “secret” menu) courtesy of Camille, which was incredibly thoughtful and delicious. We will definitely be back! Highly recommend!“
