“Okay this is our favorite spot in Phoenix and one of our all-time favorites ANYWHERE! The whole concept is super creative and the dogs are amazing. Visiting Phoenix for a month and have already been back to Short Leash multiple times. These are not "hot dogs" in the traditional sense (do NOT think Oscar Mayer), but are culinary masterpieces that you get to help build. Brunch is (almost) as mind-blowing and the doughnuts...the doughnuts...oh my Lord, the doughnuts. Never have tasted anything so good. Each time back we've said "best doughnut ever" and then it gets beat the next time around. Indoors has a cool vibe (love the old school posters and all the dog photos) and the outdoor patio is off-street and wonderful in the spring weather. “Interesting place and unique concept. The hot dogs were definitely different. I had the chiledogo, which was a blend of ingredients that worked well together. The hotdog itself was tender and juicy and the bread was warm and fresh. The lettuce and tomato were both unusually fresh, which just the right color. The French fries were cooked perfectly and flavorful. The atmosphere was not the best. You are situated outside on a busy and loud road, the menus should be in English as well as Spanish, the parking was inadequate and congested, and for some reason most of the guests liked to peel out of the parking lot at high speeds. The staff was friendly. The prices were reasonable. I would go back.“

“We just stopped in here a few days ago. AMAZING. Wife had the Lemongrass Chicken Plate and I did the Spicy Pork Bulgoki. I would have never stopped based on the name as I have no interest in a "dog" but they are SO MUCH MORE than dogs and the price is super low, especially given the quantity you get. We also ordered the Spring Rolls and they were humongous. We had to take them to go as we had no room for them after the big meal (and I'm a big guy). When I saw some kids at the table next to us get dogs they too were huge. The dog concept is interesting so I guess I'll have to try them next time. Also they have the Boba drinks with the tapioca balls at the bottom. The kids working there are all super nice and seem to love their job. This will be a regular for us especially given the price when fast food is soooo expensive. This is a FAR better deal than any fast food joint. (and you'll get your food fast anyway)“

We were the first to get there when it opened for the night and everyone was so friendly. (Actually, we got there like 20 min. before they opened & I'm not gonna lie... it was SO dark & a little sketch that I almost jumped back in the Uber to take us elsewhere. So happy we didn't do that.) Don't stress about what to order/how to order. (We stressed because we were the only people there.) They ask how many hot dogs you want and if you want them served with everything (yes), then they bring them to you. They have a cooler filled with additional toppings (cheese & jalapeños & salsas). As we were finishing our hotdogs, the parking lot filled up and Ubers were dropping off multiple large groups of people clearly getting ready to start their night off with delicious eats. As we were getting into our Uber to leave, there must have been a line of about 30 people. There's a line for a reason, this place has good hot dogs and it's something you should experience.“

When we first rode past we thought they were gone because the lot was empty (except for one piece of equipment) but came back when we saw them setting up a little before 6pm. It was close to 7pm when they finally opened but it’s always worth the wait.“
“I am probably the whitest person, (can't handle spicy) you will ever meet and these are f-ing amazing. My husband first took me here in 2016 when we were dating and I have been going ever since. I think they are cash only, we just go prepared. They do have an english speaker but I just get "dos con todo" (2 with everything). Big fat hot dog wrapped in bacon, grilled to crispy. Then beans, tomato, grilled sweet onion, quac, cojita cheese, grilled peppers on the side, and some other magic I am sure. I watch them and even though it is out of a cart and outside, they follow food handling training and safety. “Amazing Sonoran hot dogs!!!! I missed these from LA sooo much. I would go here more often if I lived closer :(. The truck was pretty easy to spot, it's in a parking lot with plenty of parking spaces. When we went, there was also a stand nearby with a woman selling delicious looking desserts. There aren't tables or chairs for dining, so we sat on a ledge/wall near our car. We got the Yaqui (original; $6) and the Chile-dogo ($7.50). They were amazing! We couldn't tell much of a different between the Yaqui and Chile-dogo in terms of taste (and presentation is very similar too). Both came with a chile pepper on the side. These hot dogs are LOADED!!! I've never had such loaded Sonoran hot dogs, but I loved it! They are on the smaller side, but that's why they're less than $10 (which I think is a great price for these). If you are very hungry or just eat a lot, I would recommend getting more than one. One was enough for me to get to a "good full" because I wasn't starving at the time. It was really messy to eat, so make sure you get napkins. There wasn't any spice to our hot dogs, so next time I want to try one that is spicy; I loved the Yaqui though. The workers were all very friendly and the service was relatively fast considering it was decently busy at the time. I can't wait to go back!“

“4.5 stars imo. I really like the ambience and style here. I ordered an al pastor burrito and asada taco. The meat was good. The burrito seemed like 2 ingredients. Meat and beans. Interesting choices, could have had more variety like beans rice guac and meat. They do have way more sides in the salad bar salsa area but adding stuff after it's rolled isn't great for burritos imo.The asada meat was tender. Both green and red salsas were good. My real gripe is "al pastor" is meat shaved of a big block of meat that rotates on a stick. In this case is seems like it's a "quick" version where they dice up some ham and cook and season it. Not bad but not true crispy delightful al pastor. Many az restaurants do this and I have almost entirely switched to asada because of it. I did like the presentation, value for money and convenient location. I just can't rate your restaurant as 5 stars without real al pastor. Even with a carniceria a few feet away. “I read an Eater article about iconic foods to try in the Phoenix area, and the Sonoran Hot Dog was on the list. Glad that I tried the Titanic Sonoran Dog. It comes with tons of toppings, and you can customize the ones you want. It's good sized and will fill you up. The menu has six items posted on a large banner. We went to the N 35th Street location. It seemed like a fairly large setup. While there are quite a few people waiting, the service is fast. There is a small parking lot. This location has a drive-thru, and the cars going to the drive-thru go through the parking lot. Backing out of the parking spot was a little challenging with the cars in line for the drive thru.“
