I hadn't had some spot on fried chicken for as long as I can remember. The fried chicken was so damn good and cooked to perfection!! The crunch and seasoning were just absolute heaven, the sides(mashed potatoes and gravy, Mac n cheese,corn bread and Mac salad were all perfect and hands down just delish!! Based on the reviews, Mrs. White’s Golden Rule Cafe is a family-owned restaurant that is a total hidden gem. It is a little hole in the wall with a warm welcome, cozy counter seating, and a great vibe. The people inside feel like family, and the family’s pride in the restaurant is obvious. The restaurant is so clean, and the bathrooms are spotless.
The food is delicious and flavorful, made fresh to order. Menu items mentioned include chicken wings, a side of greens, liver and pinions, catfish, mac and cheese, cornbread, pork chops, oxtails, fried chicken, black-eyed peas, red beans, cabbage, mixed greens, candied yams, and 7 up cake. The Arnold and Palmer drink was A1. The food is nothing extra like other fake soul food spots, and it reminded a customer of their grandmother's food. The young men handle customers with utmost respect and patience. It is a must stop anytime in Phoenix, and the chef showcased she knew her way around the kitchen.
