“There’s a reason Haidilao has become so successful around the world. Even after establishing itself as a leader in the hot pot industry, they never seem to stop innovating. Every time I visit, there’s something new.

But what truly sets Haidilao apart from everyone else is the level of service. And it’s not something that can simply be described as “professional” or “friendly.” There’s a unique culture here that makes you feel like you’re coming home when you walk through the door — happy, relaxed, and genuinely cared for. Many restaurants can provide high-quality, professional service. But that feeling of being completely embraced by a warm, joyful atmosphere, and being genuinely looked after, is something I’ve only experienced at Haidilao.

Over time, I’ve come to remember the names of many of the staff here. But two people I especially want to remember and thank are the managers, Kid and Vivian.

I’ve seen them handle the restaurant under intense pressure and keep everything running efficiently and smoothly. I’ve also seen how they respond when unexpected problems arise — staying calm and flexible, communicating clearly, and finding ways to resolve the situation. They have an excellent eye for detail, strong judgment, and the ability to make good decisions in challenging moments.

And a special thank-you to Kid. To us, you’ve become much more than a restaurant manager — you feel like family. We’ll keep coming back, again and again. And I genuinely recommend that everyone experience Haidilao for themselves — not only for the food, but for the unique culture and warmth that make this restaurant truly one of a kind.“

“Haven’t been here in a while. Feels like this place has been around since the pandemic.

Clean, bright, and you can pick your own ingredients. The selection is smaller than Big Way, but still decent.

The mala dry pot came to about $57 — enough for roughly a meal and a half, though still a bit pricey. Probably over $30 per person for a full meal.

Ice cream is comparable to Big Way, though not as good as Dollar Shop. Members get 30% off on Tuesdays, and weekday afternoons come with a complimentary drink.

Overall, the food is pretty average by Vancouver standards, but there’s usually no wait and the environment is nice.“

Problem is staff don't understand your order clearly . I asked yam avocado but got only avocado roll. It was packed though, I believe waiter did not hear it probably. As well as the food came different times.. Not synced. Second soup arrived after 15 mins later then first soup. We enjoyed and ate all though and still will definitely would go again!“

“Had a really delicious dinner at Toedam! We ordered the King Set ($108) for the family, and we finished everything — the meat was flavorful, tender, and well-seasoned. We also ordered a spicy cold noodle, which was tasty overall, although I found it had a little too little broth.
One tip if you’re ordering for BBQ: I personally wouldn’t recommend the beef short plate here. Since it’s sliced quite thinly, it cooks very quickly and can become dry if you’re not careful. I’d definitely go for thicker cuts for grilling.

Both were incredible, but it was the amazing staff that made it experience a great one. Friendly, super accommodating & gave us extra pickles & sauces to try. “Incredibly authentic and delicious thai food. We decided to check it out today and tried the pad thai, the krapow and the sticky rice and everything was amazing. I’ve yet to have any thai food taste so similar to Thailand. The service was amazing and our server was very friendly, this is a must try spot if you love Thai food!“

“An excellent selection for a ramen meal. Good portions and nicely served. The vegetarian and spicy Tonkatsu miso dishes were tasty.
A minor bit of maintenance is required on the side bench seats as they are showing a bit of wear.
Rear counter a nice touch but the counter itself should not be used as a prep/administration surface while open.
A comment, not criticism on ramen restaurants in general. Basic condiments such as garlic, onions, bamboo shoots etc should not be extra but included in the price. Limit to 3 so it does not get out of hand.

Food is overall very good, I like the sushi, sashimi, BC rolls, salad, chicken teriyaki, futomaki, tempura, and ice cream. The miss are sunomono too sweet lack vinegar, goma salad too salty, and that thirsty feeling from MSG (which I have no idea from which items). Yes I will go back again :)“
