“I’ve never been to Haidilao before, yesterday was my birthday and my friend decided to treat me.
When we walked in, there were birthday decorations on the table our server Elana helped us take pictures and was extremely attentive and sweet. She frequently came back to check in on us to ensure we were having a good time, switched out our old dishes and filled up our waters swiftly.
I mentioned that we didn’t want the birthday song or anything elaborate that draws attention as that’s not personally my thing. To my surprise at the end, she came back with appetizers that I mentioned I enjoyed packed to go along with some snacks for us, wishing me happy birthday again with a bright smile.
Safe to say, I will be coming back again as the service here is top notch!“

“It had been years since my last solo dining experience, a streak finally broken by a flashy sign promising a hot $12.80 beef set before 5 PM (along with temporary shelter from the light rain). Though the staff appeared to be new, they were accommodating and I appreciated their hard work. The warm food (the beef set with a mushroom-broth base) hit the spot, with a versatile sauce bar to customize the flavors. I’d highly recommend this discounted set as a pre-workout meal. Thank you for the warm food and the hospitality while escaping the weather.“

“First time trying Gokudo Shabu Shabu in Burnaby and overall it was a great experience. The service was amazing — very attentive and quick. At one point I ran out of sauce and the server immediately noticed and offered more without me even asking.

We ordered the lunch special combo for two ($39.99), which includes two soups, two meats, two sides, two drinks, and dessert. For soups, we chose the preserved duck egg with cilantro and the Malaysian laksa. For meats, we went with two orders of fatty short plate. We upgraded our sides for $1 each and got ground pork on rice. Drinks were milk tea (drink of the day).

The laksa soup was very flavorful, while the duck egg cilantro soup was a bit light and watery and could have used more depth. The ground pork rice was really tasty and came with mushrooms, which was a nice touch.

For dessert, they only had pistachio Melona available, which unfortunately wasn’t my favourite.

“If you order the normal ayce, the meats you get are kind of the run of the mill things. Cheaper cuts that aren't anything special. The seafood is also kind of regular besides the full head on shrimp which was actually pretty good if you don't mind getting a bit messy. The cooked food like she shiumai was good as well as their egg tarts for dessert.“

“One of the things I really like about this hot pot buffet is the variety beyond just the hot pot itself. They offer a nice selection of complimentary snacks, side dishes, and desserts, which makes the whole experience feel more complete and enjoyable.
It’s also a great place to come with friends. The atmosphere is relaxed, there’s plenty of food to share, and everyone can find something they like. Whether you’re catching up or just hanging out, it’s an easy spot for a group meal.

“This is my favourite hotpot place to go to, I crave it almost every single week! My parents have been going here since my oldest sister was born and have been taking me since I was a kid, this place is truly amazing and will forever be my favourite comfort meal spot in vancouver. Staff are very kind and I have never had a bad interaction here. Highly recommend the kimchi hot pot which is my go to!“

“The experience was average and better than most other hotpot places as there was a variety of food items to choose from. They have a few buffet tables available with veggies, seafoods and sauces along with different dim sum items where you helped yourself at this AYCE venue. Only items to order from waitress were the meats and the soup stocks which were included in the price.
Service was not great as we had to wave down our waitress to ask where our meat orders were the second time around after waiting for a good 25 minutes. After all, for AYCE there’s a time limit of 2 hours. The milk tea had way tooo much sugar but our second waitress who changed shifts with our first made it right and replaced our drink with soy milk. Great parking in the underground parking and easy to find. We enjoyed our dinner overall.“

“Be patient as this ownership group are getting their systems in place. Based on the genuine friendly staff they just need to sort out the timing in being attentive to each group of diners. The food is excellent quality and ideal for all age groups to digest.“

“Wasn’t too busy when we went. The food was good with lots of different options for the ayce. We got cotton candy at the end of the meal but the cotton candy machine was a bit faulty. The staff were so helpful with the machine repair so that we could enjoy it in the end. A really good more price friendly ayce hot pot option in the Metrotown area“

“The food was great, yes if you are not into soup 🍲 why even go ... But I do like soup and with the choices it is done very well.

They use a gelatin fuel source that easily boiled the soup and even after an hour it is still going (no fuel smell)

I recommend going one level hotter then you like, me max level, because after they add more water it waters down the spice.

“This is my favourite resturant. I'm a homebody, so I get food delivery, and it is always, always good. Of all the resturants I've tried, their pork intestine is the best. It isn't chewy and it is crispy on the outside. (And I'm a white girl lol. Don't knock it 'til you try it.)“
