I even have personal encounter with the manager inside the store several times to ask for assistance regarding my tims app and her level of attentiveness is always consistent since day one. she is very polite and Accommodating. “Was looking for caffeine and soup and ended up with an iced Americano and congee? Never expected to see congee but given my dental procedure just prior, I decided to give it a try. Congee was amazing! Not what you’d expect from a Chinese congee and in the best way. Americano was super smooth without the over-roasted bitterness of some better known coffee brands. I was on the island for a visit and will be back at my next opportunity.“

“My first visit to Discovery Coffee on Blanshard street in Victoria on October 9, 2025. I was told to definitely try it and I got there at 10:10 and had to wait over 10 minutes to put in my order for a Cappuccino. And another 10 minutes to pick it up. My drink was OK but nothing special. I would not wait 10 minutes again, if there is a line up next time I am in town and decide to try it.“

Employees seem miserable and really need to smile and make customers feel warm and happy. Im a coffee critic and go to all coffee shops. In vancouver and victroria. I would say make a stop to try it. But try other local roasters first.“

“Gigi's is a rad local cafe with freshly made baked goods (I get a muffin every time) and delightful coffee. They support the local arts by showcasing local artist's physical talent (trinkets, mugs, paintings) and also through hosting open mics and poetry/writers nights. They have a live musician play most Sundays for a few hours and the owner, Gino, sings some sweet Italian tunes at the open mics. So... yeah Gigi's has been a glorious addition to the Quadra Village, buy stuff there“

“I LOVE Blenz. I’ve been going to Blenz for over 10 years all over BC. This specific Blenz made my drink (matchachillo with yogurt and real powdered cinnamon blended in) PERFECTLY! “I absolutely loved my visit here. On our only rainy day during a recent vacation, we popped in for a hot drink. I ordered a Mocha and a Raspberry filled donut. Both were really good but the donut?! SO GOOD.
The service was warm and friendly. I think the person helping us really liked it when I described how I was going to smooth my donut right into my face. Lol. He laughed anyway...

“I had a cortado here and it was absolutely delicious. The staff were kind and attentive, which made the experience even better. The building itself is unique and full of character, and I found myself fascinated just by being there. What struck me most, though, was the customers such effortlessly stylish people all in one place. It felt like the most fashionable crowd I’ve seen in Victoria at once.“

However we are visiting from the UK and was not aware of the tipping etiquette so… if you are travelling from aboard make sure you tip as otherwise the staff will serve other customers first rather than the order of buying the coffee. Don’t make the same mistake I did. 4 people that brought their drinks after me got prioritise as they obviously tipped 🤷‍♀️.“

“During the protest on Feb 19 I came in to get tea and coffee. I like to support small businesses like this. Nice clean place. Vax pass required to sit in but not to take out. Which was nice. I had a lovely girl serve me and we talked about the egg bites. I thanked her and went to leave and had a woman cruse at me and then threaten to hit me. I kindly asked if she was having a bad day and needed a hug. I then began to record her I case she did proceed with what she said. I want to apologize to all people who were there trying to enjoy a peaceful day, and the the lovely staff who are just trying to do their job in a world that’s gone nuts. Sorry that this woman felt the need to be ignorant and violent to a person who was peacefully and politely getting a tea and coffee. This behaviour in older adults is embarrassing. And I am sorry it happened in your nice establishment. Hopefully it won’t happen again. I’d like to post the woman’s picture since she threatened me. But I’ll save her the embarrassment. Peace and love to you all. Enjoy your coffee and food.“

“The bus for my return ferry was coming in just one minute, and I really wanted to say I was sorry and ask if you could prepare it quickly. But with my limited English, all I could say was “the bus…!” Seeing me so flustered, the staff kindly hurried without getting upset. I was truly grateful, though I also felt bad for rushing, and I ended up running out without even saying a proper goodbye. Thankfully, I caught the bus.

“We really enjoy coffee and treats and occasionally lunch in this lovely spot. The staff are great, the venue charming. The outdoor water views are beautiful. The only thing I would suggest, is to add few savoury baked goods, for those of us without a big sweet tooth. Savoury scones, sausage rolls etc for a small sustaining snack😊“

Cat’s Coffee and Cake did just that. “A lovely little coffee shop in the center of James Bay. The family that runs the place are super friendly and clearly take pride in their business. The seating and atmosphere is cozy. Best of all, they have tons of food options, including lots of gluten free baked goods! They even have ice cream. :)“

“Super nice little place tucked away in a hotel! I got a smoked butterscotch latte and a pain au chocolate.

The latte was lovely, flavoured very nicely and was super unique! Also had a little complimentary piece of shortbread which was very tasty. The pain au chocolate was super flakey and light, and perfectly chocolatey. I really enjoyed both the drink and food!

The service was wonderful. The lady serving me complimented my earrings which was very sweet and then remembered my name and grabbed my dishes for me when I was leaving! Super bright and cheerful, very much made my day. It was nice and cosy and had a lovely waterfront view if you sit in the right spot. Would absolutely recommend if you are in the area and have a chance to stop by.“

“I highly recommend this small, cozy, homey place. The staff/owners are so friendly and the cook/chef, a wonderfully friendly woman came out a few times and chatted. I came for the German meal tonight and it was fantastic. The red cabbage was like my mom used to make and the schnitzel was pounded into perfection!
