Gorgeous spot, simply delightful!“

“Was looking for caffeine and soup and ended up with an iced Americano and congee? Never expected to see congee but given my dental procedure just prior, I decided to give it a try. Congee was amazing! Not what you’d expect from a Chinese congee and in the best way. Americano was super smooth without the over-roasted bitterness of some better known coffee brands. I was on the island for a visit and will be back at my next opportunity.“

Great selection of snacks and a wide choice of beverages. I just had the cheddar bagel with cheese, lemon loaf and a London Fog made with oat milk.

“Churros and Mor catered dessert at my backyard wedding in Cobble Hill and all the guests raved about the amazing churros! Having their food truck there added such a fun element and vibe to the event. The owners Jorge and his mom were extremely warm and friendly to everyone, and they kept the churros coming all evening. Definitely contact them if you want something special for your wedding or event!

“The cafe is also full during the day on weekdays. The overall environment is very good. There is a large light-transmitting indoor area outside where you can sit, so you don’t have to worry about not having a seat.

“Woweeee what a place. Came for the recommendations from the vegan community, coming back to re-live the experience of one of the best meals I've had in a long time. Nourish certainly deserves 5 stars and it's numerous awards. Outstanding food, cooked to perfection and curated with local, seasonal, and quality ingredients. It's nice to return to a minimalist-size menu where it's definitely quality over quantity, but where you're still torn to choose because everything is a masterpiece. The seeded bread was unlike anything I'd ever had (in all the best ways) and being able to have vegan pesto pasta?! It's a novelty in itself let alone when it tastes that good. Full of flavour and depth, every mouthful was an absolute treat. My parents were also impressed at both the tenderness and taste of their chicken and fish dishes. We all had the chocolate ganache for dessert and were equally impressed - the perfect end to a perfect meal. On top of all that, the service was wonderful, and to dine in such a rustic, beautiful setting was the icing on the cake. Thank you Nourish, we'll be coming back to the Island just for you 🌱“

“Gigi's is a rad local cafe with freshly made baked goods (I get a muffin every time) and delightful coffee. They support the local arts by showcasing local artist's physical talent (trinkets, mugs, paintings) and also through hosting open mics and poetry/writers nights. They have a live musician play most Sundays for a few hours and the owner, Gino, sings some sweet Italian tunes at the open mics. So... yeah Gigi's has been a glorious addition to the Quadra Village, buy stuff there“

“We really enjoy coffee and treats and occasionally lunch in this lovely spot. The staff are great, the venue charming. The outdoor water views are beautiful. The only thing I would suggest, is to add few savoury baked goods, for those of us without a big sweet tooth. Savoury scones, sausage rolls etc for a small sustaining snack😊“

Cat’s Coffee and Cake did just that. Not only we’re we told the food was delicious, I asked them to write a little special note and they went above and beyond to make it look really nice and totally special. The barista asked very specific questions to ensure I got my coffee how I liked it. Clarified how much sugar and checked how much space for cream. A well catered coffee snd delightful experience.“

There were four people ahead of me in the store, yet it took fifteen minutes to get two drinks.Oak Bay Avenue and the Yates Street location seem quicker.“

“This Starbucks is a daily (sometimes more than once!) stop for me. The baristas are super friendly, and make an effort to get to know their customers. You normally like a straw? They will ask of you want a straw. You prefer non dairy? They’ll remember. You like green tea with no sweetener with lunch? When you walk in at noon they’ll ask “your regular?” It’s not just about the coffee when the people are part of the experience. (But the coffee is good too!)“
