“Yes, it was a Tuesday. Pasta night, although that wasn't deliberate, it was a birthday. There was one waitress, and she was incredible, but woefully incapable of handling a whole restaurant (who could).
Whatever you do, don't have the carbonara. I could have used a straw to drink the sauce. Perhaps the kitchen watered it down, I have no idea, but I didn't have the heart to complain.
My fellow diners said the lasagna was very good. But still, it's a restaurant I've been visiting for years now, and standards were always very high.
Oh, and beware the rude man who answers the phone if you're trying to reserve a table in the morning. Apparently, he doesn't work there. You have to talk to the Host, if that person is available. If not, you're out of luck. Perhaps go elsewhere, I don't know. But frankly, he didn't seem to care one way or another.
Usually, I wouldn't complain. But it rather took the edge off an evening with a lady who had turned a tidy 77.“
