“I normally have a great experience but this time it was a bit off. My water glass was filthy, I asked for a new one which was also filthy so I didn’t bother to drink water. Both our potatoes were burnt and then my friend was charged an extra THREE dollars for a tiny bit of hollandaise sauce for her eggs bene. That’s a bit ridiculous.“

“Came to Liberty Kitchen to meet up with old friends. We had a great time.

The atmosphere is trendy and open, the food was fresh and tasty ( I had the Doughbird Pizza and loved it ), there is a good variety of sips and drinks, but what shined the most in my opinion was the service. All the staff were great, it was well timed, and the table of people tended at a fine pace.

Shout out to our main server, I believe it was Dani, phenomenal service and a great personality - really need to give her the kudos, really made it all the better, thank you!

For the mains, my steak was too salty, and my partner’s salmon was overcooked, so overall the taste was just average. I'm still thinking about it. We had the Som Tum, Ginger Shrimp, Drunken Chicken Noodles and the most stunning Tom Kha soup I've had. The flavor profile was so deep and aromatic. “Went to the Cactus Club on Marine Drive in Burnaby and had a great night. Laylo was an awesome server super friendly, on point with timing, and made the whole experience even better. Happy hour was solid: the prawn crunch hit the spot, the salmon aburi was fantastic, and the spicy margaritas kept flowing. Honestly, those margaritas were perfect just the right mix of heat and flavor. Great service, good food, and a fun atmosphere. I’d come back in a heartbeat.“

“Visited the stylish Rens Cafe in Burnaby Heights in July 2025. It has a nice interior and feels spacious. They are kinda known for using robot servers here (saw one almost run into someone).

Started off with their Thai Milk Tea ($6.5) and
Thai Milk Green Tea ($7) then moved onto the Meat Lover Platter ($36). This is a nice dish to order so you get to try a bunch of things. It includes squid, tender chicken satay, snappy and plump grilled shrimp, and beef skewer.

The Giant Pineapple Seafood Fried Rice ($32) lives up to the description as it is a large serving and has plenty of seafood such as shrimp, squid, mussels, scallops.

The Green Curry Chicken ($25) is also a well executed dish with both eggplant and bamboo shoots.

UPDATE - October 2025: Returned to try their special Thai Grilled Fish Hot Pots. You can get both flavours for $75: Tom Yum with clams, tofu, and mushrooms and Thai Curry with quail eggs, eggplant, and chicken. You get one sea bass that's grilled and halved before placing on top of each broth. We also added the Veggie Combo (+$12.99) to get some more veggies like peppers, onions, and mushrooms. Way more than enough to feed two people although the pan it's served in is a bit shallow (there is a small heating element underneath that only keeps the middle warm). Personally, I liked the curry side more and thought the tom yum side wasn't spicy enough. I also think the fish would have been better if it was steamed rather than grilled.“

“Exceptional! Fantastic pizza's, The Mama Said is our favourite, but they've all been excellent! The Caesar Salad is one of the best we've had as well....definitely a must try, Not only is the food superb, but the management are attentive. We had one dine in experience, pizza's were taking slightly longer than typical, manager spotted the delay, came over to apologize and made sure we left very satisfied! We hadn't complained we weren't in any rush, but he was attentive to his guests and made sure that we did not feel forgotten. That is the trademark of a great restaurant“

“I tried this place when they first opened but wasn't impressed by the food. But I live very close by and decided to give them another shot. First off the service from the moment I walked in the door was warm and welcoming. Especially since I just came from the gym and wasn't exactly dressed for dining. I asked for the best pasta dish, the host recommended the Cavatelli boscaiola and I certainly wasn't disappointed. The flavour was on point! Personally I realize that I'm not a fan of thick pasta so will probably order spaghetti or Linguini next time. I look forward to dining here soon since I did take out this time.“

My friend and I both asked for ketchup and they only brought one and took off so fast before I could say one for my too! Finally the waitress came along and eventually received ketchup.
