“My wife and I go to Five Sails every year for our wedding anniversary because we've never been disappointed or dissatisfied here. Even though it appears there has been an overhaul since the last time we came, they didn't fail to impress. The staff were personable, informative, and the food was phenomenal.“

“Anny’s Dairy Bar is the best place to try amazing poutine and smoked meat sandwich without going to Montreal. Actually, I think it’s better than a lot of places we tried in Montreal. We shared the smoked meat sandwich and regular-sized poutine and it was the right amount of food for two people. The cheese curds in the poutine was delightfully squeaky, the gravy was deliciously viscous and the fries were nicely crispy. I’m slightly more partial to the smoked meat sandwich, which used soft bread and the most tender meat, pairing nicely with the pickle. Don’t sleep on the maple ice cream - it’s so good.“

Fish and chips came with equal amounts of both, which translates into lots. “Gotta be one of the most amazing restaurants in Vancouver, if not #1! Absolutely worth braving and unhoused- and drug-beset streets of Gastown for one of the best meals you'll ever have! Started out with the local Amaro flight, which is a must-try if that's your thing; Kakao cocktail is super fun and tasty as well, with accompanying chocolate. Happy Hour menu is incredible, both in taste and value - Beef Tendon Chicharrons are fantastic, far and away the best we've ever had, a must-try. Scallops, Kimchi Croquettes, Eggplant Skewers, Ox Tongue Skewers, and Duck Empanadas are all beautiful and delicious. Roti Canai is not only the best Roti we've ever had, but the best bread we've ever had, period, another must-try. Pork Belly Rice Bowl is another winner, perfectly composed, tender, and savory. Classics Flight is another great excursion, and then Purple Haze and Steel Magnolias were an outstanding pair of well-balanced cocktails. Onto dessert - dinner was so incredible we were tempted to spring for three, so we did. The Miso Ice Cream mochi was a uniquely fantastic textural and flavorful start, followed by the Pavlova topped with pandan sorbet, creme patisserie, and jackfruit - a harmonious ensemble. Finally was the Haskapp Poached Pear, another cohesive combination with oat crumble and awesome rhubarb sorbet and coconut cream. Our server/bartender took great care of us at the bar, all the food came out perfectly paced, and the romantic and copacetic atmosphere of the restaurant made for an unforgettable evening!“

“I've been going to Bâtard for several years -- my favourite bakery in town and worth the 15 minute drive. Great bread & scones, pastry to die for, and wonderful atmosphere for a lunch. I'm more than a little suspicious by several coordinated reviews which trash the place, particularly as one of the reviews is by an owner of the new bakery which just moved in across the street ... hmmmm ...“

“The decoration is 5 stars the food is ok they have afew options not much.i was there for iftra with my family once the food finished then its done and you have to wait for at least 30 mins till the refill it . We didn’t get chance to try the dessert because there is a small portion like 10 small serving of fermi once it finished they didn’t replace so you have to be careful with dessert. Unless if you want to pay extra for bakery and buy to eat with your tea . Also it was Ramadan every thing is limited ,tea, manto, rice over all for afghans buffet is not bad . It’s was much better if they cook enough and have afew servers“

“Great place to learn or practice your French! I just started an intermediate course there and so far it's great. The teacher is very knowledgable, they have a library where you can pick some books to take home, they also organize different activities so people can get together and practice. The staff is super nice and helpful. I recommend you check out this place if you're looking for a francophone community in Vancouver ?“

“The overall experience at this restaurant was excellent and very comfortable. The interior decor is also quite upscale. The food is extremely delicious. I would recommend calling ahead to make a reservation, as it gets very busy and there are usually no available seats without booking in advance.“
