“First time there tonight July 1-2023to celebrate birthdays. Alley the owner was so gracious and had the best personality!! The food was absolutely delicious! We started with crab cakes they were so good! Then I had the seafood pasta the amount of scallops prawns was awesome they definitely weren't skimpy on the seafood and the presentation was great! Then the dessert we had a free birthday dessert which was the sticky date pudding with vanilla ice cream! The service was good, friendly, fast and the establishment was clean! Highly recommend this place ❤️”

I always get the same thing, #33 with vermicelli noodles, tofo, hold the bean sprouts and add extra broccoli.
Amazing staff, they are always happy and I don't even have to tell them what I want, they know me! Oh and maybe I'll get an order of spring rolls too.

“We have been living in Campbell River for over a year now and have not found a good pizza. Poppa's was recommended by a friend in Parksville. We were here for a week and tried it. OMG!!! It is the best pizza we have ever had anywhere! The flavors, amounts of toppings and the tons of cheese. One slice is a meal but we had 2 each. Yes it was that great! We purchased one to take back home to freeze. Every trip to Parksville will be a Poppa's Pizza!🥰”

And, the oatmeal raisin cookies taste like the ones one makes at home - and they were not overly sweet . Perfect. The service was friendly, helpful and kind. Will go back - when in the area - and look forward to the cinnamon buns next - they were already sold out for the day and we were there before noon!”

“Keep an eye on your food as it's being prepped. We agree with the tasty reviews, but have questions about food safety. We witnessed one of the staff dropping a tartar sauce on the floor and another staff told her, "Don't worry; no one saw it."”

“I've been a customer here for my whole adult life. This place feels like coming home to me. The staff is always warm and welcoming, they always remember my order and what I like to drink. Yes the place has gone through its changes, and we all adjust. Still a great place! (honestly I'm happy about no more karaoke, Just trying to enjoy my drink while my eardrums getting busted out by people who think they can sing...go to the Legion guys)The bartenders are always watchful, and swiftly and quietly usher out the riff raff. The waitresses are pleasant every time, always a welcoming smile, and are quick to come with food and drinks. They are very attentive to their tables, I never have a complaint. The food is always amazing, kudos to those cooks in that hot kitchen. While it used to be quite the bumping place on the weekends, covid has really quieted it down. I recommend the Rod & Gun. It's a pub, and if you prefer pubs over taphouses like I do, you'll really enjoy this place. See you guys soon!”

“Stopped by for the 1st time and were greeted by very friendly staff. Seated quickly and our server was great right from the start. She had lemon water on our table, gave us just the right amount of time to come up with our order and had everything out fresh and hot. Food was delicious, and she had extra tartar sauce delivered within seconds. I would definitely recommend popping in the and giving the fish and chips a try, also had the clam chowder which was excellent as well.”

Nancy at front desk is just a gem, got early check in both times as requested, rooms are clean and spacious and nothing beats the balcony and restaurant views! Coffee shop makes amazing drinks and treats and if your lucky in the morning the sweetest dog Casey is in there with his awesome older couple owners and they are so kind to chat with, pool was a great temp but wow it’s cold when your heading back to the dressing rooms in the open air, short safe walkway down to the beach and just a 2 minute drive to almost anything else you might want or need outside of the hotel, my fav hotel on Vancouver island hands down”

“A friend and I went to Jalapeño's for the first time yesterday and had a wonderful time. Friendly, helpful service; menu prices are more than reasonable; and the food was all delicious. We shared the choriqueso [like a cheese fondue with chorizo sausage in it] and it was fantastic. Melty, tasty, not overly spicy! We ate it as a starter and also put some of it onto our mains when those came out. We both ordered the taco trio [one carne asada, one carnitas, one al pastor] which comes with rice and beans. It was all good, but the beans were amazing! Feel silly saying that about beans, but they were the best refritos I've ever had. We also both had the hibiscus drink and it was fantastic, not super sweet and a nice floral taste. After our meal, we paid and each got one of their buñeolos [a crispy donut of sorts] to take home. That was crispy and coated in cinnamon-sugar. I'll definitely be back!”

“Great restaurant with great food, ambience and service.
We came for our anniversary which is on the 13th of Feb
We knew we had to reserve in advance as it is a busy weekend
We booked the same afternoon and when we arrived we saw the restaurant pretty full so we anticipated a slow service. To our pleasant surprise we were wrong. We were served immediately. The lady who served us, Taylor, was superb. She gave excellent advice and was very tentative to our needs the whole time.
We started with their signature onion soup which is the best I had outside the Latin quarter in Paris. Just this would make me come back to Parksville again and again. We live on the mainland.
Our main was a veal schedule for me and the prime rib for my wife. Bothe were superb and the side mash potatoes and vegetables were superb
I've shared the dessert as there were too many options and the soup and main portions were large so we decided to share the desert
Will definitely come back again to taste their main dishes and other deserts and martinis

“We went to Ricky's after being evacuated from the Wesley ridge fire. We asked if they have discount to evacuees. We showed the server and manager a screenshot of the evacuation notice as well as our ID with our address and they still would not give a discount as we did not have a physical paper.”
