“First time there tonight July 1-2023to celebrate birthdays. Alley the owner was so gracious and had the best personality!! The food was absolutely delicious! We started with crab cakes they were so good! Then I had the seafood pasta the amount of scallops prawns was awesome they definitely weren't skimpy on the seafood and the presentation was great! Then the dessert we had a free birthday dessert which was the sticky date pudding with vanilla ice cream! The service was good, friendly, fast and the establishment was clean! Highly recommend this place ❤️”

I'll be visiting my sister who lives in Nanoose Bay next month, June 15-26. I'll be stopping in for my beans to return home, Cornwall Ontario, with. Read up on new roasts before my visit to buy along with many of my favorites. See You Soon :)

Jan 2021. Had new coffee sent to me prior to Christmas by my sister. One of the pkgs was the new Ethiopian Tomme. This new blend was so good yesterday I ordered 3 more pkgs. Maui Dark Roast is another excellent blend. When pandemic is over I am sure to be flying out to Nanoose Bay to visit my sister and stock up on more coffee. Thank goodness I can order online.

Every time I am on Vancouver Island visiting with my sister (I live in Ontario) I stop and load up on Coyote Coffee beans. Recently picked up; Mexican Red Honey Fair Trade Organic Coffee. WOW WOW WOW and excellent full bodied coffee. No bitter after taste. Chocolate notes. Will it become part of your product line? Do you still have some for sale? It made my day :)”

“During our visit to the Island, we ordered their Butter chicken pizza, chicken and pineapple pizza and funnel cake for dessert. It was one of the delicious meal I had from a Pizza restaurant. My order was ready on time but you can tell there is a difference from your traditional fast food pizza in comparison when eating here… the dough tasted fresh and full of flavour in comparison to other pizza joints we’ve had from the US. Glad to see that and would highly recommend this place to anyone visiting the island or even native. Keep up the good work!”

“Good food, great service, clean establishment. I stopped in mid morning on a Saturday and was seated with no wait. The service could not have been better, my order arrived quickly but had a small problem which they fixed without delay. Food is good, but not “great”, they earn 4 stars but only just. Otherwise this is a fairly ordinary chain style family restaurant. Prices were a little high but that is the case everywhere it seems. Easy to recommend.”

“I would highly recommend ignoring the previous low ratings and giving this place a try. All of the the recent reviews seem to be great. I had possibly the best meal of my life here in June 2025.

I went in with fairly low expectations, as Cedars, the restaurant at Tigh Na Mara, is pretty mediocre. We did the dip-and-dine package while staying at the resort, and I was not expecting much for food - frozen Sysco appies perhaps.

I was absolutely blown away. As soon as I had one bite of the first course, a spring kale salad, I knew I had massively underestimated this place. The food was OUTSTANDING, and the wine pairings were not only great, they were well priced (relative to similar menus elsewhere).

I see there are a few people complaining about portions. It's bottomless - eat more! I'm a pretty big guy, with a pretty big appetite, and I would have been perfectly happy with the set menu. Of course I ordered a few extra courses because the food was so incredible, but I left very very full.

The spring/summer 2025 menu is fresh, local, playful, and expertly executed. There are fermented and picked foods, lots of seafood, some bright fruit sauces paired with savory meats, and some earthy fungi dishes. I could see a person who likes frozen spring rolls and well-cooked steak with ketchup finding some of the dishes a little intimidating, but anyone who enjoys fine dining, beyond basic meat and potatoes, will likely be thrilled with the dishes.

The citrus and cream dessert paired with Inniskillin Ice Wine was so good it literally brought tears to my eyes!

As far as I'm aware, there is nothing else in Parksville that even comes close to this caliber of food.

On top of all this, our server, Drew, was great. He was attentive, friendly, knowledgeable, and enthusiastic.

The only thing I didn't love is the fact that you have to eat wearing your robe from the spa. This isn't Bruch and mimosas, it's an elevated dining experience, and I would prefer to not feel the wind blowing on my bits and bobbles. That said, if I would happily do this again wearing only an adult diaper if I had to!
