“Decided to try out The Mad Hen on a busy weekday after a friend recommended them. Service was odd as they didn't offer the option of sitting outdoors. At least the food came out quickly (15 min). Ask for their hot sauce.

- Beachcomber's omelette ($20.00) - large portion. Omelette could have been silkier but good filling. Toast was heavy on the butter

Ordered two from their summer menu: roast chicken and veggie taco. Both were delicious. Lots of toppings and delicious crust that was just thick enough to hold it all in there.

Word of wisdom- order online a few hours ahead, or risk them being too busy to accomodate more orders.“

“It has a nice cozy feeling with outside seating and indoor seating. Staff were younger but considerate. She was also knowledgeable about the dishes. The lemongrass chicken was delicious. The chilli was nicely distributed and the chicken was grilled well.
As for the noodle soup, the broth was watery. but the meat and noodles were good but just average. They didn’t have much defined taste.“

The dishes we ordered were full of fresh vegetables, cooked flawlessly, and with large portions. They even honored our dietary restriction and made everything low-salt but super tasty. I really appreciate clean homestyle cooking (without a lot of salt, sugar, additives) when I can find it. In Seattle, food of this quality would cost at least 25-30% more. The staff was very friendly. They also have a Sunday night buffet that looked fantastic - wish I knew that before I ordered takeout!“
