“We were looking for a contemporary restaurant that served seafood dishes that matched our tastes. We chose Fire + Water because of the dishes offered. We were so happy about this choice as our food was so good and fulfilled our cravings for fresh seafood since we are from the Prairies. For our appetizer we ordered calamari which was on happy hour special. They were not oily and did not have too much breading. My boyfriend ordered the salmon and scallops which was delicious and cooked perfectly. I ordered the Fire and Water seafood salad and it had prawns, candied salmon and smoked salmon. It was a huge portion of salad with lots of protein. I will dream of that salad forever. 😍 Our server was super nice and the food came out quickly. Next time we are visiting Victoria, we would totally come again.“

“We decided to try out the Uptown Bistro on a quiet Monday night, and weren't disappointed. The value was great, the service was excellent, the wine and beer choices more than ample, and the steak and mushroom pot pie absolutely fabulous. I will be going back.“

“Delicious, freshly cooked fish and chips! I had the 2pc cod dinner after 7pm on a weeknight fall evening. So there wasn't a line and plenty of seating. But, they were out of several menu items - anything with salmon, one of the desserts - because they were closing in less than an hour. The fish had a perfectly crisp and warm breading, not too thick, with a very generous thick serving of cod inside. Just the way I like it! And the fries were perfect, too! There were some comments by the guests who were looking for more salt to put on their fish. But I prefer lemon and vinegar, and thought everything was salty enough. More lemon wedges was the only thing I needed more with the meal. Thanks for a great experience for my first meal in Victoria!“
