“The location does half the seduction before any food shows up, a little backyard plaza tucked away so neatly you could forget you are in West Vancouver. The menu is short, and good, a burger joint has no business reading like a novel. There is a Persian current running through the operation, which in my book only sweetens the deal, and the koobideh wrap held its ground right alongside the burgers, so whatever cuisine these people have decided they are cooking, they are cooking it well. The special burger has flavours dialed in tight, juicy, good sized and fairly priced. The beef tongue sandwich was gone by the time I got there, sold out, which I have chosen to interpret not as a loss but as a summons. I will be back for it. A good, honest visit all around, and it is easy to see this place earning its crowd.”

“I’ve been coming to Ssal Korean Bistro for lunch for years and it’s honestly such a hidden gem in West Van for hearty, comforting Korean food. Their doenjang jjigae (soybean paste soup) is one of my absolute favorites — rich, flavorful, and made with really fresh ingredients.

The staff are always incredibly sweet and attentive, which makes the experience even better every time I visit. I also highly recommend the bossam (pork belly) and the soft tofu soup — both are delicious and consistently well made.

You can really tell they care about the quality of their food. Definitely one of my go-to Korean spots and a place I always recommend to friends.”

“This was our first time here. We chose it because we had to have a meeting and this was a central location with some coming from the Sunshine Coast. I normally am not a fan of pizza, once a year is good enough for me. However, that has now changed. This pizza was so fresh and tasted amazing, especially the crust! I asked for light sauce and the amount was perfect. The owner was very accommodating, some wanted coffee which they don't serve, but he allowed us to pop down the block and grab one from Starbucks and bring it back to have with our meal. The regulars were super friendly and at lunchtime was pretty busy with a lot of workers coming in for lunch. We will definitely be back and would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone!”

“Its been 13 years since Nando’s birds eye chili infused peri-creations graced the crystal blue shores of West Vancouver. From humble beginnings on Park Royal’s akward and slightly spooky Northwest side, this under the radar but beloved location was the model of consistency and impeccable service with a smile. The Rotisseries were spinning seemingly 24/7 and their Chef had the type of handle on his marinade few culinary personnel could ever hope to achieve. Then came the relocation. To most pundits, the move to the South East end of the mall was a home run in the making. More foot traffic, and easier access for West Van Dads popping into Tommy Bahama to catch the latest breezy wailea approved styles. The grand reopening however was a harbinger of what would become a rocky few years for the spicy red rooster. Uneven saucing, stale breads, and an unreliable fountain pop dispenser. But in true thoroughbred fashion however, The last several months have proved to be a stunning return to form. Perhaps churning out the finest birds of his career, Chef has regained his impeccable burner awareness, and the addition of perinaise and fresh baby arugula on artisan ciabatta has added the gourmet flair we never knew we needed. This proverbial Stella, has most certainly got her groove back. Seriously Commendable.”

The food was delicious ,portions were generous and when they forgot to put all the containers in the bag to take away i called them to mention this and they offered to add prawn and crab rolls to compensate for there mistake..i would not hesitate to recommend this restaurant..”

Amber roll has mango, incredible. Pictured with white rice. The tower roll had white rice and the red dragon we tried with black rice, and wild salmon instead of farm raised. It made a huge difference. Try at least one roll with black rice, cant do that everywhere.

We couldn't stop talking about it for 24hrs.

“Yesterday I tried their $8.99 Big Box, which included 2 pieces of chicken, a biscuit, onion rings as my side, and a medium drink. The value is simply amazing. The chicken pieces were surprisingly large, incredibly juicy, and cooked perfectly. The crispy coating was light, crunchy, and full of flavor. The onion rings were also excellent, freshly fried and very crispy.
The staff were friendly and welcoming, and even gave me both ketchup and hot sauce for my meal. The restaurant itself was spotless, well organized, quiet, and very comfortable to dine in.

Run by a resilient father-and-son duo, this West Vancouver hidden gem started a year ago with handwritten cardboard menus and Home Depot chairs that still had price tags on them.
Revisiting a year later, the charming, no-frills setup remains exactly the same, but the dining room is now completely packed with guests.

Omid was also very passionate about the process of how the pizza and bread is made while explaining it to us. We also had one of the sandwiches and the boba was also great as well. On a different note, I am saddened and slightly annoyed at some of the tone-deaf and negative reviews about this location. My work experience in the service and quality assurance industry has made me resilient to subjective behaviour, but this one takes the medal 🏅 The over-sheltered and pampered individuals who disliked the service, taste and temperature of their cafeteria food not being able to meet their inflated standards, could have easily communicated eloquently and asked for a little more to make their experience better - a simple smile, a different food item or correction to the order may have been more helpful; kindness will only come back as kindness.
Finally, the purpose of Google reviews is to help the public make educated and friendly choices and not to be subjected to an individual's frustrations. Peace ✌️ and Praise 🙏”
