“I have celiac disease and follow a gluten‑free diet, so I always have to be careful about cross‑contamination. Before visiting any restaurant, I call ahead to make sure they understand what celiac disease means. I spoke with Raviji, owner of Niravva Indian Resturant, on Victoria Drive, and he assured me the food would be safe for me. Because of cross‑contamination, my wife and I usually avoid Indian restaurants. But last Sunday, we went to Nirvana India Restaurant and we had such a wonderful experience. Opiji came to our table and explained that they prepare all their masalas in‑house and that everything would be safe for me. They even make gluten‑free roti from scratch. It was the first time I ever had a gluten‑free roti in a restaurant. The food was delicious, and the staff were warm and attentive. We also spoke with Opiji, who even shared a simple tip for making gluten‑free roti at home. For the first time, we felt we had found a safe Indian restaurant for us.“

“Whenever I eat out, I factor in several variables if I decide to take the time to write a review. Usually, my reviews are after really good or really bad experiences. One of the things that truly makes a huge impact is value…how much I pay and the quality of food has its own little algorithm that dictates whether or not I choose to eat somewhere again in the future. Well, this place is off the charts…they really know how to do Indian cuisine! The prices were better than I expected and I left with a smile on my face. It was delicious! “We had a wonderful experience at Mirchi! The butter chicken was rich, creamy, and full of flavor, and the goat curry was absolutely delicious, perfectly seasoned, and tender. Both dishes were packed with authentic spices and made for a fantastic meal. Everything was satisfying and enjoyable, and the stuff was super friendly. “First of all, food is delicious. I am a coward about spice, can’t handle a lot. I tend to go for chicken vindaloo, which reminds me of what my mom used to make. She did not make chicken vindaloo, whatever concoction she did make is lost to time and memory loss. But it is a bit similar.

Now let’s talk service. Wonderful. My mother has been dealing with health issues and was having a tough time and I changed our meal to go rather than dine in. Without hesitation, the lovely woman working there came over to comfort my mom and gave her a lassi which she enthusiastically drank. I wanted to pay but she refused. She was just so nice and supportive and they boxed up our meals and we took them home to eat.

My mom thoroughly enjoyed her prawn coconut curry and chai and polished off a very large portion of it which is a big deal because her eating hasn’t been great. So five stars for our yummy meal and definitely five stars for service. Thank you very much.“

“I recently visited DS Indian Kitchen and had a really enjoyable dining experience. The food was fresh, flavourful, and had a great authentic Indian taste. Every dish we ordered was well prepared, nicely seasoned, and served hot. The menu had a good variety of options, making it easy to find something for everyone.

The portions were generous, and the quality of the food was impressive. The flavours reminded me of traditional Indian cooking, which made the meal even more satisfying. “It was our first visit to this restaurant but not the last. We found this place by chance. We were starving and did not have a lot of time as we had to catch ferry. the staff person was very polite and understanding about it and our dinner was served super quick. Everything that we had ordered was delicious. My husband and I did not expect it to be this good. the staff person was very respectful. I ate good authentic Indian food after a long time. If you happen to be in North Vancouver and craving for Indian food, this is a place to go to. Nice family run restaurant. We will surely be there next time I am in North Van.“

“Delicious dishes in a very comfortable setting. Really pleasant servers who smile and make you feel comfortable. Overall the dishes were exceptional; I love the lamb curry and the vegetable thali. The butter chicken melts in your mouth. Try the happy hour lunch menu if you are by yourself. You get a tray of lamb, chicken or vegetable curry along with rice, naan, potato curry and crispy pakora. The main menu is all worth trying and sharing with friends. A very special place!“

“The decoration is 5 stars the food is ok they have afew options not much.i was there for iftra with my family once the food finished then its done and you have to wait for at least 30 mins till the refill it . We didn’t get chance to try the dessert because there is a small portion like 10 small serving of fermi once it finished they didn’t replace so you have to be careful with dessert. Unless if you want to pay extra for bakery and buy to eat with your tea . Also it was Ramadan every thing is limited ,tea, manto, rice over all for afghans buffet is not bad .
