“My first experience with this place was 2 bites and into the garbage. Flavourless sludge. I read all the latest reviews which said pretty much the same thing as experienced tonight. Staff yakking on the phone or talking to each other while they leave you waiting. The toppings on my tacos were a joke. They just threw it together without a clue. Maybe a cultural thing as they were not Latino and had no pride. Zero meat. This is the first time I have bothered to post a bad review about anything. I have been traveling Mexico for over 45 years and built 4 vacation rentals in a place called Yelapa down the coast from PV and this place is a blight on the landscape. I dug“

“We had bought the coconut cake along with other assorted pastries from Whole Foods a dessert. The coconut cake was a hit! Packed with flavour and coconut taste. The cake was fresh and had a tasty filling like pastry cream. The pastries included crème brule (one was watery and the other was just the right consistency), pumpkin tart, lemon tart, chocolate tart and pecan tart. To ensure their freshness, place an order before hand. Having a good assortment of pastries is bound to satisfy everyone’s taste. They also offer a good variety of ready to eat takeout food.“

“All three of us were happy with our meals and this restaurant is actually quiet enough to have a decent conversation. Service was competent and friendly without being familiar. Prices are typical of a French bistro; my bill (before tip) was $28 and change for a glass of house wine and a lovely Nicoise salad made with fresh tuna.“

“Discovered Puerto Mexico last week and I’ve already been twice! Their bean tacos are soooooo good and cheap! I got 4 tacos for $16 I think. Best authentic tacos in Vancouver hands down. “I've come here a few times to eat-in and for take-out. The service is always fast & staff are efficient & friendly! There's also tables and a washroom (which is also well-maintained). The portions & price are good value as I sometimes even spilt a burrito into 2 meals. It's my current go-to place to satisfy my burrito cravings & I'd recommend it!“

“The food really impressed at Zapoteca. The Breakfast Burrito was my favourite while the Tacos De Pescado (fish tacos) was a kid favourite for those that like a bit of spice. I also quite enjoyed a few of their house made Tortilla chips from their deconstructed Nachos on the kids menu.

Last but not least, drinks were also a hit.“

“The meals are fine , the servers are nice and kind. I ordered enchiladas but it was very small portion was not enough for me and it was 22$. That’s why i needed to order another dish and total bill was like 60$ ish with tea & 2nd dish. I found this place is overpriced.“

“Legitimate carnitas. Like straight off the beach at a food truck with a bottle of cerveza from a cooler and a bag of salsa to toss on your taco while sitting on the beach kind of legit.
Nothing like it exists in Vancouver; if you want a really authentic Mexican carnitas just go here.

“A rare 5/5 on all thing. I've been here a few times over the last couple of years, and I have to say this place is on point with service, flavours are STELLAR (my Mexican wife demands we return for the authentic flavours), presentation is creative, beautiful, and atmosphere is very nice. Not really a classic Mexican atmosphere, but more like a sophisticated western restaurant/pub.

Enchiladas with poblano salsa was outrageously delicious. Molcajetes with beef and with seafood were stellar and filling! Next time I'm going to have lighter meals do I have room for dessert!

100% chance we will return.

“Great addition to the Granville strip. We enjoyed our time here. Recommend the Molcajete Mexicano and the Del Trompo a tu Trompa. Desserts including the churro were all fabulous. Portions were pretty decent and we were full and still had a big take away box. The server was such a sweetheart and really attentive. Will definitely be back and bring friends once covid is over.“

Some food trucks around, so maybe they cater out of these during the day? The worker did not mention this when I arrived.“
