“I appreciated the fully separate vegan menu that had many options and that it made it so easy to order. We got the vegan yellow lentil and the vegan tofu dish with the “special sauce” description (sorry I can’t remember what it was called haha), both were so good!! Way better than I expected honestly. We got the vegan paratha which was also delicious and something I’ve never tried before. Staff accommodated us coming in on the later side (we didn’t know they closed so early!) which I also appreciated.“

The salad was huge (in a good way) with a delicious beet purée. The octopus appetizer was special and unique. After going there for the first time I would highly recommend. The prices were mostly reasonable, we were actually surprised by this since it tasted and felt like fine dining. Price was well worth the food, especially for the salads/burgers/appetizers.“

“As a family that truly loves Italian cuisine, we’ve visited countless Italian restaurants in various regions. Buzzo Wood Fired Pizza immediately impressed us with its modern, stylish interior and its open kitchen — a design choice that suggested both culinary transparency and a commitment to cleanliness. Yet, upon entering, there was an inexplicable sense of unease. It’s hard to pinpoint whether it stemmed from the service itself or the overall atmosphere, but the warmth and friendliness we often appreciate in a dining experience felt somewhat absent.

For our mains, we ordered The Charlie Pizza and The Jenkins Pizza. The Charlie Pizza was, unfortunately, far too salty. A touch of saltiness can enhance flavor, but in this case, it overpowered the dish and made it difficult to enjoy. The Jenkins Pizza, featuring jalapeños for a bit of spice, was fine but lacked any particularly memorable or distinctive character.

The highlight of the meal, however, came in the form of the appetizer: Arancini. These crispy, golden risotto balls, served with a parmesan sauce and leek oil, were exceptional. The contrast of the crunchy exterior and creamy risotto center, paired with the rich and aromatic sauces, was superb — easily redeeming the shortcomings of the pizzas we ordered.

In the end, Buzzo Wood Fired Pizza shows great potential, with a stylish setting and certain dishes that shine. A warmer, more welcoming service experience and better balance in the pizza seasoning could elevate it into a truly outstanding destination.“

“We were there for a music event late Jan 2025. HH drink specials were tasty but was disappointed on how cold it was inside the restaurant. Both doors, front & back, were wide open during the entire evening show (48 degrees outside). Even the band mentioned how cold it was before beginning their set. All the customers wore jackets. Also, the harsh lighting was way too bright throughout the restaurant. I wanted my sunglasses on. Please read the room & tone down the lighting & warm the place up, then we’ll be back. Mahalo“

“Dinner was absolutely delicious Chef Jeff ... Never disappoints one of the best dinning experiences in Santa Cruz . Sam can also make a delicious drink too🌼 the desert was delicious as well Wow just Wow !! The olives and roasted garlic for starters were a delightful burst of delight too! We go each week for either dinner , lunch or brunch always amazing and something new on the menu each time ! The staff are all wonderful too! A great evening to a long week ! “A friend recommended this place for "the best burritos" and they were SO right! We will drive from Monterey just for Ranch Milk's burritos. The shrimp burrito is my favorite, I've never tasted anything like it. Their carne asada burrito is also amazing. We also came here to watch the World Cup, they have a few TVs and they also sell alcohol.

Parking: Parking lot is easy to access and leave. There are plenty of spots and we've never had a problem finding parking“

“Here on a Tuesday with their “Cheesy Tuesdays” when a cheese slice is only $2.50!!!! In this economy? Beautiful! And it wasn’t just an average slice of pizza it was PERFECT. A little crunch, yummy dough, the perfect amount of cheese pull (not too much but enough). Top 5 pizzas I’ve ever eaten. Just beautiful.“
