Skewers

“Came here for a friend birthday, they have good selection of skewer items, and a verity of Chinese bottled beverages. The food is delicious, they cook at the back and bring it to you. I really like the tin foil clam and glass noddle, and special beef skewer. Plenty of parking in the plaza. Grilled fish is also very tasty, and can be made not spicy at all.“

“2nd location in the chain, and much fancier place than the first. Nothing special, but not bad. Tried their roast pork, but the meat selection was much more on the leaner side. So if you're coming with old folks with weak teeth, they might not enjoy it --if anything, the older folks prefer the fattier cuts. Also their 滑蛋 scrambled eggs had a bit too much flour, and came out harder, not as soft and fluffy like other places. Nice folks at least! Service was on point, and staff was very approachable.

Old man moment, many owners and several iterations before this place, it was a Liang's Kitchen (c. 2013).“

“There are a lot of amazing restaurants in Los Angeles. The Barn is my favorite.

The concept: a no frill take on the very best of Asian foods from Japan, China and Korea.

Service: the service at the Barn is amazing. The waiters that work there are all cool and welcoming when you come in, although,
It’s not a red carpet kind of place m, they know you are there for the food! They’ve managed to reduce a number of steps which allows you to get your foods faster. Ordering is done on your mobile device via a QR code by your table. Almost as soon as you ‘submit your order,’ food starts arriving! I absolutely love this and wish more restaurants would adopt this. The waiters regularly come by and are always more than happy to grab something out missed it. Clicking ‘request check’ on the mobile device and they will bring the ticket by promptly.

Food:
The absolute highlight of the barn is the chefs creations. The Green Beans are absolutely to die for. I don’t know what the special ingredients they use are, but my mouth is watering thinking about this speciality! They offer yakitori; the teriyaki chicken is a favorite along with the wagyu beef. The bacon wrapped asparagus is on the regular order list, along with the cheese corn which is some of the best I’ve had. I don’t get it every time I’m there but the spicy firecracker chicken wings are amazing!

Ambiance:
A single row of tables line the restaurant adorn with cool decorations throughout the restaurant. One of my favorite things about visiting the barn is the eclectic choice of music they play which changes up every night.

Wish I could give The Barn 35 out of 5 stars but they only allow me to select five stars. Hope you get to try it out and enjoy it as well!“

“This is my family's go-to Korean soft tofu stew joint. The quality is always spot on. I've never been disappointed with their food. I love their oyster soft tofu stew, spicy. I also love their steamed pork belly "saam." It's so good! They have decent "banchan" as well, especially their kim chi. The stone pot rice is delicious, especially pouring in the barley tea to the crusted, savory rice crackling that sticks to the bottom and sides of the stone pot. Most non-Koreans don't know this comfort food secret. Get it next time and eat it at the end of your meal with the broth that forms from it with the leftover banhan. ?“
