Chef Tony Reviews
Came here yesterday for lunch with my family to finally give Chef Tony Dim Sum in Arcadia a try. I was especially excited because it's listed in the Michelin Guide, so I came in with pretty high expectations. Unfortunately, it didn't quite live up to the hype for me.
The restaurant wasn't completely packed when we arrived, but the service was much slower than expected. There were several empty tables, yet we still waited about five minutes for one to be cleaned before being...read full review

Chef Tony offers a diverse menu that has received a mix of reviews. Some customers enjoy the "really great food and quick service," while others criticize the "average quality food with high price tag" and "low end service skill." The restaurant's "really wonderful dim sum" remains a highlight, especially dishes like the shrimp wonton w/ house spicy sauce, the deep fried durian pastry, and the Bunny-shaped Coconut Pudding 椰汁兔子糕, Stir-Fried Rice Noodle 炒牛河, and Deep Fried Chicken Wings with Salt and Pepper 椒鹽雞翅. The "fried Chinese donut" has disappointed some diners. Recent visitors have noted that during busy times, the restaurant can be understaffed, leading to poor service, including issues with water refills and inattentive staff.
Food reviews are mixed: while some dishes are praised, others like the French baked BBQ pork bun and deep fried pork dumpling have not impressed. The prices are considered high, especially given the many similar options nearby, but some diners appreciate the ambiance with comfy booth seats and the presentation of dishes in bamboo steamers. Although the service varies, some customers found the staff to be pretty nice despite the long wait. The atmosphere looks fairly new and nice, and some enjoy the set meals and desserts that come with certain dishes.
While the quality and service can fluctuate, Chef Tony remains recognized for its dim sum and flavorful dishes, making it a noteworthy dining option. However, some recent reviews suggest that the food may not meet the expectations of a Michelin star restaurant, with dishes described as just average and lacking a "wow factor." The restaurant's presentation and atmosphere are appreciated, but there are concerns about chipped serving plates and the chili sauce, which some find disappointing. Overall, visitors are encouraged to try the place and decide for themselves.
