“Best japanese cafe serving udon, cutlet, sandwiches, drinks, croffle and desserts. Udon has different sauces like curry, soy. Cutlets are available in fish, chicken and pork. Beef sukiyaki are available. Drinks are amazing in really good looking cups.“

Cal Poly Pomona students do the work at RKR, and it feels good to support the cause. “I stumbled upon this place while driving from LA to Las Vegas and searching for breakfast. We came all the way from Maryland for my birthday weekend, and this has been the best food we’ve had so far on our trip. Everything was amazing—from the coffee to the buttered bread served at the table. You can really see and taste the homemade care put into every dish.

I had the home fries, and you could tell they were hand-cut from thinly sliced potatoes. My friend ordered the veggie omelet—my God, it was so good. I had the pork chops with home fries and eggs, and wow… if only you could taste this plate. Don’t skip the homemade salsa they bring to the table—absolutely incredible. “I went to try their coffee and scones since I've passed by them so many times and saw that they had scones on their online menu. Today, a staff member told me they don't carry scones, which was disappointing. So, I got a cinnamon twist and an iced crème brûlée. Tasty food and friendly staff, but the ambience was just average.“

“I attended a private event at Arcane Cafe on Saturday. The maids were super sweet, though definitely busy seeing to everyone. The event went over the allotted time and, though it was very late, they were very understanding and didn't try to rush us out of the cafe. At this event, you paid for a afternoon tea service. I have attended MANY afternoon tea events--at restaurants, afternoon tea cafes, and hotels--and Arcane Cafe's afternoon tea had some of the BEST food I've ever had for tea, but they gave you so much! Everything was absolutely delicious and presented so nicely. It was such a fun event, the maids were gracious hosts, and I would definitely go back again by myself (even though it's a bit of a hike from my home).“

“The place had delicious food. This place had many people coming in and was crowded during brunch time. I can see why so many people come here. The drinks and food are excellent but the seating was a bit of a challenge since it was quite noisy.“

“The coffee here is amazing. The barista is friendly. And the ambiance is quiet and intimate. When you walk in, it’s very open and welcoming. The barista was very knowledgeable on any of my questions and we traded recommendations on some local Portland roasters. I got a spro and cortado, while my wife got a Sierra tonic which actually made me like espresso tonics. Hands down this is the best oat cortado I’ve ever had. The milk was steamed with perfect microfoam, and it really accented the bean’s natural sweetness. I didn’t catch his name, but we were there at noon on a Saturday after thanksgiving. Anyway, stay frosty Sierra Madre, Peace.“

Latte wasn't too bitter nor too sweet and a perfect recommendation.

If you're looking for something savory, flaky, with just the right amount of buttery deliciousness the salt bread is for you.

On the other spectrum if you want something more on the sweet side but still full of flaky texture the passion fruit croissant is the way to go. Don't forget to ask for it warmed up at the counter if you're enjoying it in the shop!“

I ordered a rose and lychee fried yogurt and it's so delicious n pretty. Each has rose petals as decorations and it's sweet and tangy. “I love coming here and it's very close to my house, reminds me of my grandma baking growing up. They make great tamales as well with lots of meat, very delicious. Their sweet bread are great a big variety to choose from. They open at 5am you won't be sorry if you stopped by and bought some thing to have with your coffee in the morning.“

From the welcoming staff the moment you walk through the door, to the decor, to the EXTENSIVE bakery items (that are beyond delicious!), to the pizza, to the coffee, there is truly not a bad choice on the menu! They even have a window to the kitchen so you (or your kids) can watch the magic happen in the kitchen. The first time I went there I was reminded of my Dad and my time in Palermo. You just need to purchase their drinks. As long as you get there between 10 am and 2 pm (Tue-Sat), you can grab a drink and use their cafe area!“
