“What's better late night snack than Ave 26 tacos? It's located in a parking lot, and we pulled in around 10pm on a Sunday night. People from all colors and all walks of life seem to converge here in search of scrumptious bites. There's a security guard that patrols the area so you could enjoy your chow without hesitation. It's standing room only, no utensils or sitting area provided. We decided to eat in the car as it's a bit chilly that night. There's also a portable water station to wash hands before or after you dig in.
There's a separate line for tacos or burritos or drinks, pay in cash or Apple/ Samsung Pay. Simple and orderly. Then, head over to the condiments section for different types of salsa, chopped onions or lime. The Al Pastor, Carne Asada, Cabeza and Lengua are usually my go to, but there're also brisket, pork belly, chorizo to choose from.“

“Just perfect food. Marinated and seasoned to perfection , the steak quesadilla rocked my socks. If it were socially acceptable I would bathe in their toum , but instead I’ll just put it in everything. The shrimp taco is better than even guisados. And the papas - stellar. The hype is real. Tried nearly everything and everything is so well thought out and just so flavorful. An absolute must. Rivals even the most authentic taco spots in Los Angeles. Lunch, Dinner, heck even breakfast. EAT HERE.“

“What a Lovely surprise ! We saw it on the way and decided to stop by. The team mostly composed by female chefs was very kind and helpful and the food they make is just delicious. The fries were one of the best fries I’ve had in LA and topped with cheese and Birria it was just heaven 👌“

“love simon. recently the quality has decreased a bit, with twice getting soggy oily tacos that just dont have the care put into them that they used to. the new digital ordering tablet is really bad. i also wish they would put their salsas into to-go cups for you so it would be cleaner than a communal station. four stars because they used to be my favorite truck in la and i know what they’re capable of!“

“I'll be honest the atmosphere is not good yet if you wish to taste an authentic Mexican dish ex taco, burrito etc with hand made tortillas and great quality of meats and vegetables this is the place to go. And moreover the prices are cheap. I'm definitely coming back.!😁“

“This was our first time at Tacos Villa Corona and it was great. It is a small place and most get take away. That is what we did. The place inside is clean and just cute. I love the way they have art on the menu on their wall. It is family owned and a lot of the recipes are from the owners mom. She loved to cook.
We had the best breakfast burrito. It is called Papa Steak and we also had the best chicken quesadilla. Their chips are great and we had rice on the side. We got it all to go and ate in the car and listened to music. We had a great time.
This is a real gem that we had not heard of before and boy it does not disappoint. Beware the salsa, it is great, but what we had was way too hot for me.
Their hours are odd, so call to make sure they are open. They run out of food.
You will love this place. We do.“

“Hidden semi hole in the wall taco spot. Located in a large plaza with plenty of free self parking. The restaurant is clean and the staff is friendly. You can see them preparing all the ingredients as well as tacos cuesadillas, and burritos. There are a few indoor tables and seating. There's also a small salsa bar.
The menu is limited and straight forward. Basically choose the type of meat you prefer.
This is not fast food. It takes time to prepare fresh food made to order.
Tried the shrimp vampiros. It's kind of like a tostada so best to eat that first since the shell will fall apart if you eat your tacos or burritos first. It's very yummy!
Also tried the chicken taco. It was ok...nothing special about it.
Definitely get the free onion and jalapeno.
The salsa bar has your
typical tomatoes, onions, limes, etc. but it would've been nice if they had cilantro
There's also two containers with free beans so make sure to grab some.
Prices are a bit high for the tacos at $3.25. The vampiro is priced right at $4.15
Portions are a bit small but they make up for it with the free beans and salsa bar.
If you're in the area, it's worth a try. There are better Taco spots elsewhere, imo.“

“Avocado Fresh Mexican Grill was a great find. I ordered one of their bowls, and it was fresh, flavorful, and packed with hearty portions—exactly what you want from a build-your-own Mexican bowl. Everything tasted vibrant, and the ingredients were clearly high quality.
The staff was also incredibly friendly and helpful, making the experience even better. Overall, a delicious meal and great service. I’ll definitely be back!“

“Tire Shop Taqueria is a great place to enjoy flavorful food in a fun and relaxed setting. The restaurant has a cool, casual feel, and it really does feel like a neighborhood spot where people come to enjoy good food without any stress. From the moment you walk up, the smell of grilled meat lets you know you are in for something special.
One of the best items on the menu is the carne asada tacos. The meat is very tender and juicy, and it has a rich, smoky flavor that tastes amazing in every bite. The carne asada is cooked just right and pairs perfectly with the warm tortillas and fresh toppings. These tacos are simple but incredibly delicious.
The grilled al pastor tacos are also a must-try. They are well-seasoned and full of bold flavor without being too heavy. You can really taste the spices, and the grilled edges add a nice texture that makes them even better. Each taco feels carefully made and very satisfying.
The cheesy gringas cooked on the griddle are another highlight. They are crispy on the outside, warm and melty on the inside, and packed with flavor. The cheese stretches with every bite, making them comforting and hard to resist. They are perfect if you want something rich and filling.
The campechanas are very tasty and bring together different meats in one delicious dish. The flavors blend well, creating a hearty and satisfying option. Overall, Tire Shop Taqueria offers amazing food, friendly service, and a relaxed vibe that makes every visit enjoyable and memorable.“

“I drive by this spot all the time and finally stopped to give it a try. I got the Al Pastor burrito and was sooo happy with my choice. You see them cooking it right in front of you, all fresh. The tortillas are handmade as well and you can absolutely tell the difference. Love the salsas as well. It’s quick, reasonably priced, and everyone is kind. What more can you want from a local taco stand? If you are wondering whether to stop in, just do it already and thank me later“

“This was by far one of the best spots in the market. The Carnitas are killer and the portion sizes are huge. Don’t be scared away by the prices because they more than make up for it in the portion sizes. Definitely a must stop while you are at the market and looking for some good grub!“

“Best tacos ACTUALLY! Family owned and very kind folks. Had 2 carne asada and 1 chicken tacos. The tortillas were fire and the meat sooo delicious. You also get to put your own toppings and they have guac as an option (not as an expensive add on). So yummy!“

“You can never go wrong bringing a friend from out of town here at Upper West, joining family members to celebrate or just coming over to have a really tasty and good quality healthy meal! The owners greet guests, servers are attentive and the food is amazing! We come here often and love the appetizers from the chopped salad, to the crunchy rice tuna and cauliflower, to their main staples steak tacos, their seabass and short ribs! Do not forget the pudding for dessert! Wine selection is also great!“

“Came across this place after looking for another spot and I have to say I was NOT disappointed! I had the pastor, buche, lengua, and cabeza tacos and it was absolutely delicious! Usually when I have buche, lengua and cabeza it always tastes gamy but I don’t like to avoid trying new ones and I’m so glad I didn’t avoid it from here!! I had 7 tacos for $17! Really good for the amount you get!
Parking: Street parking or park in a lot or gas station nearby“

“Update: This Taco stand is no longer in this location and we are very very sad.
Oooooooh baby! Hands down these are the best tacos in the area! I did get broken tortillas but all the meats are all so well seasoned and cooked literally 10/10. Also their sauce game is on fire literally and figuratively.“

“I never order carne asada at Taco spots but since there is only asada, pastor and chicken here it tried it. Iy was delicious... tasted like top tier carne. I'm not a huge fan of tortillas de harina but that definitely didn't matter because the beef was so tasty. The only thing I would make better are the salsas. Either way I'll be back soon to try the nachos.“

“Their flour tortillas are made fresh on the spot and have a soft chewiness you rarely find in LA. I tried the carne asada burrito and was blown away by the grilled meat and spicy salsas. The outdoor setup is casual—just picnic tables and an awning—but it gets crowded fast. Staff is fast and friendly. It’s hard to go anywhere else once you’ve had their tortillas“

“Taco Boy is definitely a hole in the wall mexican joint. Breakfast here is definitely the best in the area especially for the price. Its a walk up to the counter and order type restaurant. No wait staff just a cashier and the chefs who are always on top of their game. My fave plate is the chilaquiles rojos. The chips and salsa alone are great. That's how you know the food is good.
It can sometimes take about 20/25 minutes for your order to be ready due to the early morning rush. Finding a table isn't too bad but again they have a loyal fan base of early bird breakfast customers who will wait in line to order. Give it a try it's definitely worth a try. Friendly on the wallet too!“

“Called in our order and it was ready in under 15 minutes. The tortillas and machaca burrito are amazing! This may be the first time I've had a burrito and not wanted to put salsa on it. They had great pickles in the salsa bar.
Wasn't as big of a fan of the chilequiles (soggy) and aguas. I'll be back to check out the specials they run midweek. Service was fast and friendly.“

“My family is from Tijuana and I frequent often. This is as authentic as it gets. Best corn tortillas around by far. Best carne asada around. I would put this up there with some of the best tacos in LA. It holds its own. Make sure you get a carne asada queso taco with everything when you’re here.“

“So I live in Compton, only a few blocks from the birra spot. I'll be honest, I did not like birria de chivo but I came here for Father's Day because my dad who lives in L.A. wanted to try it. Long story short I had no clue what to order. Gentleman at the window was soo helpful and patient in helping me, the señoras are cooking in the truck so we knew it was going to be good. Anyway my dad loved it, and I tried it and I really enjoyed it. Just be careful with parking the lot they are by was full and and I parked on a side street and I totally missed the sign and got a big fat ticket. ??“

“Delicious chilaquiles. The Queca (quesadilla) was also phenomenal. Everything tastes homemade (which it is if you peer into kitchen when you go use restroom). To top it all off you can go to their bakery and grab something sweet. The 3 flavor concha was the best I’ve had.“

“I hope this place is in business forever. I’ve been coming here since I was a kid. When I come visit my parents this is the only place I absolutely have to visit. The cockteles are
filled with seafood and done just right. I like that you can customize it with ketchup (why?!) and salsa (they have two types on the table: huichol and tapatio. Enough said!). There’s usually two older ladies in the back cooking. I wish they were my tias.“

“I absolutely love this place and even though I’ve moved farther away, I still make the drive because it’s totally worth it. The grilled chicken is always my go-to — it has this unique sauce that I’ve never found anywhere else. The rice is always on point, and the beans? So good. The tortillas taste homemade, and it’s clear they put a lot of care into their food. The aguas are delicious, with melon being my personal favorite. I’ve tried a few other dishes, and they’ve all been great. Plus, the staff is always friendly and welcoming. Definitely a spot that keeps me coming back!“

“This taco truck is hands down my favorite spot.
• Lengua: Not diced, but served as a thick slab with the perfect balance of flavor and chew. If the world ended tomorrow, this would be on my last meal list.
• Nachos with everything + carne asada: The asada, tomatoes, onions, jalapeños, and cheese hit perfectly with the round nacho chips. Add the creamy salsa verde and every bite is on point.
• Pastor: Juicy, consistent, and never dry. Exactly what you want when the late-night munchies hit.
I haven’t made it to the seafood yet because my go-to orders are too good, but I’ve seen people rave about the fish tacos. Staff is always welcoming and friendly. Just remember to bring cash for tips. Parking is easy on the street or library during non business hours.“
