It's a week later that I tried these tacos and I can't stop talking about them. My favorite was the beans with cactus. Soooo good. Also, the atmosphere was just so nice and lively. “We stopped by while visiting LA, in search of good local tacos and Taco La 26 did not disappoint!!! The tortillas were fresh, the salsa was delicious & the al pastor was my favorite! I love that they have free roasted potato’s and onions, so no matter what you get a filling meal.

You order at the food station then pay at the counter with the square machines. No where to sit but honestly they’ll be gone before you could sit down.

It is a block from skid row, & as tourist we weren’t familiar - but like anywhere else, just pay attention to your surroundings. The location is gated and there’s plenty of parking.

The food has excellent flavor. I ordered the carne asada bowl. The crunchies in top are special. It’s delicious, but the steak is a little chewy. It’s a lot of food for a reasonable price. The red salsa is super tasty, but use caution with the yellow salsa. She’ll make you cry.
I’ll probably come back tomorrow and order the chicken.
The employers are sweet. The shop is clean.“

“Been meaning to hit this place, but always pass them up. Glad I stopped by, they got some good eats here. Tried the Vamipro with bistec and potato. Nice and crispy hand made tortilla. Potatos were healthy cut pieces and soft. Also had the Guisado sampler and man they are not shy with the servings. I definitely recommend the sampler plate if you are wanting to try the different options of guisados. For this location early is better as they do sell out of items on the early side. They also have restaurant where you can get there goods as well.“

“WORTH ALL THE HYPE!

Sadly that also meant be prepared to wait in long line especially on peak dinner time, which was right at their opening time. We did come on Saturday which probably made it worse.

Nothing fancy, it’s basically occupying a spot on the Pavilion’s parking lot at Hollywood. Quite limited chairs provided so it’s not uncommon seeing people eating while standing or using their car’s trunk.

We got their crowd’s favorite Ribeye and Flank Steak, both of which were indeed so so good in their own ways. Chunky juicy meats on top of the blue corn tortilla. Everything’s cooked fresh to order and they didn’t go complicated with sauce on top of your taco, which even made the meat more stand out, being so flavorful on its own.

If you felt like us and wanna try something beyond beef, certainly go for their Al Pastor, which was also luscious and I’d definitely come back again for.

Don’t forget opt for extra melted cheese on your taco!“

The fried round tortillas were a bit oily as it soaked all through the paper bag. Combo had rice and beans as well. Parking can take a wait but it’s well organized with a staff person directing the cars. You can wait at the take out shack as an alternative to eating inside the restaurant. There’s already a line at 5 on a weekend afternoon so go early!“

“I visited Tacos Tumbras a Tomas at Grand Central Market in Downtown Los Angeles.

I ordered the carnitas tacos, which are one of their specialties.
The pork was flavorful and tender, and the portion was surprisingly large.
They also asked whether I wanted the salsa spicy or mild, which was nice because I could choose it based on my preference.

The amount of meat was so generous that one order was more than enough to fill me up.
They also provide extra tortillas, so you can make additional tacos with the generous amount of meat.

The tacos were delicious, filling, and reasonably priced. I was especially impressed by the portion size for the price.

The stand has been serving Michoacan-style carnitas at Grand Central Market for many years, and it’s easy to see why it has remained popular.
