Who took such pride in his smoke room , which he was kind enough to show me. 3 dynamic smokers were adjacent to the kitchen. He opened up to show me he was doing beef ribs. Which he sent a sampler to our table . Delicious. Now the food , that’s the best part . We had a lunch 3 meat combo. We both had a hot link, brisket and baby back ribs smothered in the tangy sauce. Our sides were collard greens , macaroni and cheese and potato salad. Mac and cheese was baked with a nice crust. Hot and cheesy. A 10 plus.Potato salad can definitely stand up any family picnic. Spicy greens were good. Cornbread was excellent.I figured out this was a soul food restaurant hidden within a bbq place. I will be back“

The ambiance was old-school sophisticated, and it felt like we were transported to a different era by the Bossanova songs playing in the background. The chill rhythm of the music made me feel like we were living in an episode of Mad Men, and I secretly hoped that the boy from Ipanema would show up at the table next to ours.What helped make it a truly memorable experience was the Monterey Chicken. I'd had it before but couldn't find it on the menu. Our server was confident the Chef would make it for me, and she was right.A chicken breast pounded thin with the lightest breading cooked to perfection. The light golden chicken filled the plate, supporting a hollandaise sauce that blanketed avocado and tomato wedges. Each bite of the chicken alone was a delight, with the slightly rough texture and buttery taste delighting my tongue. Alternating with bites that included the creamy, perfectly ripe avocado and then the crisp freshness of the tomato made sure my mouth didn't get bored.I wish I'd remembered to take a photo first because the eyes are the first step to enjoying a meal. And in this case, I pushed all other thoughts out of my head, leaving only that desire for the first bite...and then another and another.When you are looking for something lighter than beef, you won't be disappointed by this one.At some point, I will extend this review or add another if Google allows that. I thought that was pretty high for this meal. In its defense it’s very tasty, but not unique. I can see why this place is popular. Tomatillo sauce is very good, not hot whatsoever despite it being labeled as spicy, still worth trying. The nachos I also tried but not pictured, they were honestly a bit of a let down. Maybe I didn’t get them fresh but they aren’t bad, but not as amazing as I’ve heard raved about. Overall I was satisfied with my meal.“

All the once-popular spots in 626 like Elite and Sea Harbor have faded away from their glory. This place has great value and great tasting food. Their milk tea is top notch and I just tried their pineapple "bo lo" custard bun (which I never usually get) and it actually has bits of pineapple in it. Only high end dim sum places in hk would actually go that extra step. You really can't go wrong with anything here. If you decide to venture into something different, we like to get their Singaporean stir fried vermicelli. I hope they incorporate some hk cafe style items in the future (baked pork chop/Portuguese chicken rice).“
