“I love this place and their beer! I first had one at Alvarado Street Brew in Monterey, CA. They’ve got great sours and fruit forward IPAs for me and beer that tastes like beer for my BF. I wish they had more seating but that’s not a reason to rate below 5 starts. Maybe they will open a bigger location in Alameda or Oakland ?? DOG FRIENDLY“
“Hands down the best spot to have a beer and talk with friends, neighbors, or strangers. It's not a large space, but always manages to have enough room to be more than comfortable. The ambiance is warm and inviting with a clean, minimalist look. The beer is stellar, and they always keep variety on tap. Hoi has become an anchor for the neighborhood.“
“The Pilsner is one of the best beers around, it's really good, I miss the bottles, on cans I feel the taste a little different, the others Northern Larger and IPA is ok but not like the pils, the brisket sandwich was ok, bread was not fresh and dry, brisket was good! The staff special in the bar wasn't that friendly, in general is ok, my 5 stars go to the Trumer Pils, really delicious!“

We have Eugene as our guide/host. He is wonderful, very knowledgeable about the products and the making of the sake.
We sampled more than ten different Daijinjo, Junmai and Kinpaku. But my favorite is still the Daijinjo!

“I consider myself a lifetime Cellarmaker fan. My wife and I had our first date back in the first couple months of OG location being open in SOMA and we've been big followers since. The Berkeley location carries on the legacy of a great atmosphere, incredible beers, sublime music with the welcome addition of delicious food and a family friendly vibe. If you're looking for the best breweries in the Bay you'd better put this on your list.
