“We visited the restaurant for their brunch buffet and had an overall enjoyable experience. The food was good and delicious — everything was fresh and well-prepared. However, we felt the menu leaned more toward the classic side and didn't offer anything particularly unique or standout. It was satisfying, just not especially memorable in terms of creativity or variety. The ambience was lovely — comfortable, stylish, and welcoming — a great setting for a relaxed weekend brunch. The service was good as well; the staff were courteous and attentive. That said, drink service was a bit on the slower side that day, but it didn't take away too much from the overall experience. If you're looking for a solid brunch option with a pleasant atmosphere and reliable food, this is a good choice. We'd consider returning, especially for a laid-back group outing or family get-together.“

The entire staff was so welcoming and went out of their way to make sure my husband was enjoying his birthday celebration. It was our first stay at the Maybourne. “Exquisite vibe and exclusivity. Love it! Sean was an excellent host! The Terrace was great as well for dinner for our Zuma exotic car group before being escorted to the Whiskey Bar. The Maybourne valets were excellent and staged our exotics out front. Looking forward to returning on a regular basis.“
“No joke if you want the best turkey chili Bat on 4 has it. Hands down the best chili in town. The rest of the food on the menus is delicious as well. The chicken club is a must have and lobster sandwich as well. The service is great and the team that works the bar can’t be any nicer and on point. We love going here after shopping.

“We were in LA to attend a birthday party at the Peninsula Hotel and my economically shrewd wife found Maison 140 as a cool and inexpensive nearby hotel - which we were very happy with. However drinks in the downstairs Bar Noir was an incredible added bonus. Randy the Barman engaged us immediately and within 3 minutes we had our generously poured drinks and were chatting to other guests. It felt like we were regulars at “Cheers” (the old TV series Bar, where everyone knows your name). It was one of the best bar experiences we’ve had in years. Absolutely loved it. Thanks Randy ! “Funke does many things right, yet still manages somehow to feel both warm but not inviting at the same time.
It’s odd to me because I recently met Chef Evan Funke and he seemed to be a super nice and warm guy(and clearly very talented), yet his spirit seems to not shine as bright as it could in this particular environment.
A protege of Wolfgang Pucks from back in the day, he himself has become quite a celebrity chef with hundreds of thousands of followers on IG, and all the other things: book, tv appearances, etc…
I believe he’s considered the “Pasta God of California!”
While I have yet to try his other concepts, Mother Wolf (Hollywood) and Felix Trattoria(Venice Beach) Funke is his newest addition to his portfolio of eateries, if not a huge departure in menu from the other two; freshly made authentic Italian pastas and elevated pizzas and animal proteins with a thoughtful bar and wine list. It’s all very good.
The standouts are the squash blossoms and pizza for me, and olive oil infused craft cocktail, but I have yet to try the pastas so cannot comment.
I’m giving this a 4/5 because I can’t help but feel that Funke can’t decide what experience it truly wants to give you. As I said, it’s warm, but not necessarily inviting.
All that said, add it to your list for fine-dining in Beverly Hills. It’s worth going for the open-air rooftop bar and squash blossoms alone.“
“I regularly stay at the Beverly Hilton, but my latest visit to Circa 55 was disappointing due to one specific server. She was hurried, made unprofessional remarks, and was unwilling to help with a simple request for a to-go bag.
The rest of the team was wonderful and eventually helped us out, proving that the Hilton brand's high standards are still alive—just not with this individual. The food was excellent as always, but the service from this particular server was a 1/10. Management should look into this to ensure it doesn't tarnish their overall CSAT.“

“We ordered chicken dumplings and garlic noodles + chicken sweeet and sour. All food tasted very good.\n\nThe room is small, but still good space between the tables.\n\nThe waiters are not serviced and follow little if you need more drinks. We had to ask about everything.“
