“Yes please! I've loved this place since my parents moved to Tarzana in 1985. For some reason I'm stuck on the salami wrap. I rarely waver. Always get that, some stuffed grape leaves (which are to die for), a bag of chips and a drink and that's my idea of a perfect lunch. They have three or four tables if you just can't wait to get it home. Lots of fun, interesting Armenian groceries as well. Everyone who works behind the counter is super friendly and the sandwiches come out before you know it. A Tarzana classic for many decades!“

“Cavaretta's has the most authentic Italian sandwiches in the Valley, as well as a great little Italian mini mart. I often go when they're busy, but the atmosphere is so friendly, and the aroma is so enticing, that I really don't mind the wait. It seems as though every time I'm there, I meet someone who wants to talk about how long they've been a Cavaretta's customer, and how much they love their food and whole experience!“

“The food is incredible. It's guaranteed. But the service could be better, and frankly, they could update their location. They get too packed to not have a larger entry/waiting area. It's chaotic and extremely overwhelming at the front.“

“I had the San Carlo special. It was pretty good. I've had better subs at places like Jersey Mike's. However, San Carlo is very good at its slightly lower price point. I will go back to try some of their more expensive options to see how those compare. I also had some of their pizza bread. The pizza bread is very good, which gives me hope for their pizzas, so I will be trying those out as well and updating my review.“

I've savored their culinary delights on five separate occasions, and each time has been a flavor journey beyond compare.Let's start with their hot pastrami sub; it's a masterpiece of tender meat, perfectly seasoned and nestled within a fresh, fluffy bun. “Ike's has the best vegetarian subs around! Well, from what I've tried anyway. Few months back I tried their Freddy Krueger sandwich (not vegetarian) on their dutch crunch and it was great. The dutch crunch is delicious. I also tried their James and the giant peach recently and it'll be my go-to anytime I visit for sure! All the ingredients come together perfectly and the vegan fried chicken is good too! Their sandwiches come with a candy (caramel apple lollipops) and as someone with a sweet tooth, I love it. Service was good and my sandwich came out in a timely manner. It's a great place to grab a bite after running errands in the plaza.“

“I don't know how many people know it, but in the back of this liquor store they have a little place where they make sandwiches and they're good. They're well priced meaning they're not too expensive. But the best part is they're good. There's two women that work in the back there. They make your sandwich custom as you order it. I was just there yesterday. Had me a roast beef and turkey on sourdough. It was awesome. It's a great place to get some lunch.“
“Great sandwich and from I hear it can get busy. I must have come at the perfect time cause I was the 3rd person in line. I went with a simple turkey, pepper jack, and bacon on a French roll. Didn't take too long and the sandwich was a good size. Very tasty and filling.“

“This was such a great vibe sandwich spot that I'd happily return to next time I'm in the area. We asked their favorites but they're listed right up there. However, apparently they won best meatball sandwich in the valley! Ok, I'm in. Half sausage too for good measure. The girl love pastrami so we got her the Al Capone. The pastrami is lean, and they let us know that ahead of time. To me, maybe a bit lean. It lost a bit of the flavor she loves so much. But I can't knock them because they definitely told us. The meatball and sausage sammy? Delightful. A whole lot of cheese on it though so bear that in mind. It was certainly the first to be devoured, along with some great chips we found in their selection. I love the old school deli vibes. What a little gem.“
