“Great place, the rice cakes were the best. You can't make reservations, so there's usually a wait time that depends on how early you get there. Good food and drinks in a small place. Everything tastes fresh, and you can see them making it if you sit at the bar.“

“We have loved this place since we lived in the neighborhood years ago and had the pleasure of dining in more recently. The food is still as fantastic as we remembered. Our favorites are the cucumber sunomono, classic nigiri, and this crispy albacore roll. Everything was just as good as we remembered. Its position in a grocery store mall seems a little out of place, but it is definitely worth the drive, and the views in the area are gorgeous, too.“

“What a mind-boggling experience. My friend told me this was the best sushi anywhere.
When I walked in, I thought we couldn't be in the right place. Really small, seats maybe 10 people at the most.
But the sushi suits not disappoint. Truly the best sushi I've ever had. You don't need any soy sauce or anything more than how each tasting is done and set in front of you. Trust the experience the chef prepares for you.
Yes as the other reviews mention, I hope you are not trying to budget the meal because it's expensive.
I presume that the sushi is a good or better than the best in Japan, so it's worth it.
Can't wait to share this place with my daughter's.“

“They used to be amazing but last visit the food and sushi quality got downhill and service was lacking too. despite asking several times for more ginger and Wasabi but got ignored about it. gave 1 plate of it for 2 people. price however doesn't justify the quality anymore. sushi were keep falling apart . not like they used to be. still fresh . it's ok but not for the price“

“Masa-san serves chef's choice, and the food is fresh and delicious. Eating here is an extremely delightful experience. The sweet shrimp with eggs is one of my favorites. Always finish your meal with at least 1 (maybe 2 or ...) of his blue crab rolls. The crab is carefully hand-pulled, the rice is warm, and the seaweed is crisp. You won't find that combination of quality and easy dining experience anywhere else in the Valley. Please try it!“

“The fish speaks for itself. If you’re from Agoura Hills, no need to make the drive to Torrance, DTLA, or OC because this place is on par if not better than all the other authentic sushi experiences.
Highly recommend the black snapper, sweet shrimp, and the bluefin tuna.“

“I stopped by for a quick dinner on my way to LA Airport. You can't eat in the restaurant, only take out. Since we had nowhere to go, our family of four parked in the parking lot and ate it, but we inhaled a lot. They use more ingredients than other rolls, and each roll has its own unique characteristics. The miso soup that came with it was also good!“

“Absolutely love this place. We went for lunch today and it was empty and I was shocked because the service was phenomenal, the fish was so fresh and delicious, and the prices can't be beat. They have amazing lunch specials and a great happy hour! Definitely a hidden gem in Simi!
Parking: Lots of spots“

“The BEST hands down omakase sushi experience I've ever had. The attention to detail is impeccable! The flavors are unmatched, and the only downside is you will never want to get sushi from another restaurant ever again. Seii is amazing, and so is his craft!“

“The restaurant needs some sound asorbing materials so the restaurant is not so noisy. I would like to be able to talk to my partner during g dinner.
Parking: The city needs to limit paid street parking to 6PM. So diners don't have to eat in a hurry to meet the 1 hour parking limit“

“As far as AYCE sushi goes, this is better than I expected. They excel at no-rice rolls, whereas the regular sushi like unagi and salmon skin rolls left something to be desired. There are so many to choose from though, I think it warrants a comeback. At $34 per person for dinner M-Th, it's a great value if you can eat at least 5 rolls. The service is one of the best of all the recent sushi places I went to. The place is big too, but keep in mind to visit as early as possible; the place packs up pretty quickly.“

“A delicious local sushi spot. You can tell most of the people visiting are regulars. We got there at opening time and managed to get in for the second seating. They start you with a free starter and are incredibly friendly with helping you understand the specials and menu. We ordered a range of nigiri and everything was delicious however my favorite with the truffle white fish sashimi.“

“Roll Roll is an absolute gem! From the moment we stepped inside, the service was warm and welcoming. We were invited to choose our own seats, and within moments, waters and complimentary miso soup were brought to the table—a lovely gesture.
The food was served incredibly quickly, and every dish was a delight. The garlic edamame was bursting with flavor, the ginger house salad was perfectly balanced, and the cucumber salad was light and refreshing. My California roll with smelt egg was spot on, and the avocado roll was equally fantastic.
The prices were very reasonable, especially for the quality and location in LA. I’m already looking forward to my next visit!“

“If you enjoy Sushi as an art and experience, this is the spot for you. Miho has the freshest, most tender fish I’ve ever eaten. The red snapper carpaccio is packed with a little perfect punch of flavor. The maguro tataki roll brings it all together with amazing texture and flavor. This is the best sushi spot in LA, for those who are looking to enjoy fish instead of posting their meal on their instagram story. The atmosphere is intimate and vibrant and you’ll leave with a smile on your face:) (much much much better as a dine-in experience than delivery.) it’s worth the visit and it’s worth your money.“

“My husband and I come here often because food is good considering it's all you can eat. Food comes out fairly quickly too even on busy nights.
The only issue I had was they don't have a waiting space, which is fine on a regular day. However, it was really hot one day (105° at 5pm), and the host told us she hasnt texted us to come in yet and we can't wait inside (basically telling us to wait outside). It was a hot day and we had a toddler with us. We came back 25 mins after being quoted a wait of 20 to 30 mins. If it wasnt for a birthday we were celebrating, we would have left.“

“Food was great. Sushi can be received quickly as it's made right in front of you. Other dishes take some time. When I went, it took a while to have someone take my non sushi order. One of the men making sushi helped me by notifying a waitress who took my order from across the room but not directly from me. I needed to modify my order due to an allergy so I had to wait and ask someone else. Little frustrating but it turned out okay.
Dietary restrictions: Food may be modified but you have to be patient.“

“The sushi is good, the beer and wine selection are not, though the wine that *is* offered is high quality. Service was a bit slow this time around (sat at the sushi bar). The prices are ok, not notably inexpensive, but again, the sushi is decent.“

“Here’s the rundown:What I tried: I went for the Eel roll and the Dynamite roll. Seriously, the Eel roll was something else—super tender eel, not too fishy, just right. They drizzled this sweet sauce over the top that just tied it all together beautifully. It’s a must-try if you go. Then, the Dynamite roll, true to its name, was just explosive. It was this spicy mix of seafood that was perfectly balanced—not too hot but with just enough kick to keep it interesting.Vibe of the place: It’s pretty laid-back and unpretentious. Just a cozy little spot that puts all the focus on the food. The decor isn’t anything flashy, but it’s comfortable, and you feel pretty relaxed sitting there.Service: Really solid. Our server was on the ball, super friendly, and knew the menu inside out. Gave us some great recommendations and was attentive without hovering too much. Just made the whole experience smooth.Overall thoughts:Honestly, the place was great. Both rolls were standout, but that Eel roll was a highlight for me. I’d say it’s definitely worth a visit if you’re in the area and craving some quality sushi.“

“I just went for a 2nd time last night (1st time was last year) and oh my gosh this place is awesome! not only is the food absolutely delicious and there's a huge variety of things you could get but the service is fantastic and the servers and owner- a young lady we met, are all so nice and helpful and considerate. Throw in the prices are so reasonable compared to many. I so wish there was one closer to my home over on the west side of L.A.,. but I'll just have to make the trip more often!“

“We came during happy hour and they had a big selection of food during that time and it was amazing! We are not big seafood eaters but it makes a difference with how fresh it was! The lobster and scallop bowl was some of the best food I've had in awhile, especially eating out! Our waitress was also very attentive and friendly. We don't live close but will have to be back soon.“

“Great food and service. The best salmon skin salad we have ever had. Most places strip all the meat off, but at Hirosa they leave a bit of meat on the skin which adds even more flavor and texture.“

My favorite thing that they serve is the Yellow tail. It is so delicious. It is made so perfectly. The price is just like any other sushi place. But this place makes it worth it. “Great portions. Super friendly staff. I love the options for the toppings. I wish they had sweet mayo to balance the flavors and make the bowl creamier. The brown rice felt a little heavy and dry compared to other places. Since it was my first time, the staff gave me a wonton taco shell. That really kicked the taste up a notch.“

“Review: Yume Sushi Bar – A Dreamy New Sushi Destination in Calabasas
If you’re a fan of top-tier sushi and an elevated dining experience, then you need to check out Yume Sushi Bar’s brand-new location in Calabasas. I’ve been a longtime fan of their Studio City spot, and let me tell you—this new location is even more stunning. From the moment you walk in, the upscale and elegant atmosphere sets the stage for an unforgettable meal.
Let’s talk cocktails—because they are just as much a highlight as the sushi. Beautifully crafted and absolutely delicious, they make for the perfect start to the evening. Whether you’re sipping at their gorgeous bar or lounging with friends, the ambiance is perfect for a night out. They also have an excellent selection of sake, making it a dream spot for anyone who appreciates a good pairing.
Now, onto the real star of the show: the sushi. Yume delivers on every level—freshness, flavor, and flawless presentation. Every bite is an experience, from the vibrant citrus roll to the addictive spicy tuna on crispy rice. The seared salmon sushi with truffle oil is an absolute must-try, balancing rich, buttery flavors with a touch of umami perfection. And if you’re a fan of oysters, theirs—topped with caviar—are simply divine.
The entire experience was top-notch, from the impeccable service to the mouthwatering food. Whether you’re planning a date night or a fun evening with friends, Yume Sushi Bar in Calabasas is the place to be. I already can’t wait to go back!
Vegetarian options: There is a variety of vegetarian dishes that make it easy to enjoy a meal with friends who love sushi. The menu includes grilled vegetables like sautéed green beans and miso-glazed eggplant. The beet salad with avocado is a refreshing choice. The crispy rice topped with avocado and truffle oil provides a satisfying crunch. The mushroom soup is rich in umami flavor, and the corn tempura is both sweet and crispy. For a protein option, the agadashi tofu with a side of rice is both filling and tasty.“
