“I’m so glad I found this place. Yes it is the BEST sushi in Conejo Valley. The chef knows his fish. We got most of the specials on the board which were mostly from Japan. I will say that it was expensive but so worth it. Maybe stick to the nigiri on the menu and it won’t cost so much. But I’m so glad I do not have to drive into LA for great sushi. I’m a fan.“

Our usual place was closed. So we decided to give Go Fish a try. Definitely not disappointed! Fish was fresh and tasty. Rolls were creative and delicious. Portions weren’t skimpy. The reason for the half star deduction: it is a bit pricey. That said, we’ll definitely be back.“

“I love this place. Spicy tuna usually does not sit well with my stomach but I love the taste of it so much. No matter what restaurant I go to, the spicy tuna always gives me the worst stomach aches and I end up having to rush to the bathroom. THIS PLACE HAS THE BEST SPICY TUNA!!!! The service was excellent, friendly, attentive, and welcoming without being overbearing. The atmosphere was also great for both a casual dinner and a nice night out.

“A plethora of sushi places in this area of town. So I went to the one that had the slightly highest rating. Man, did this nor disappoint! 5 star experience. Staff was welcoming and all smiles. Sushi chefs were laughing and chatting with guests as they went about their master craft. Food presentation was A+ and freshness and taste were right on point. Perfectly paced service as well. While I was there what must have been the owners' family were eating and laughing. Just a general wonderful vibe. Perfect addition to my weekend away.“

“This is probably the best sushi in the conejo valley. It is sooooo good!!!!! Amazing food, amazing staff and phenomenal chefs. We came in as a party of 6, the restaurant was packed and they put together a table for us in just a few minutes. Everyone was so nice, the chef had great recommendations and even came to check on us and see if we liked everything. “Staff was very friendly and attentive. Nice size portions. Food was good but not the best. Tempura was a bit greasy, miso soup salty and dressing on Bento box was not the traditional type, it tasted like store bought dressing. Yellowtail was good but didn’t like the sweeter sauce they put under it. Again it wasn’t bad but I don’t think I’ll return.“

The rolls are consistent. I order the same roll and it's perfect every time. The chef's are very nice and welcoming. The servers and bus staff are very sweet and happy to see you. “honestly i wasnt sure what to expect walking in since its tucked into that little strip mall area. but the fish was REALLY fresh, which matters more to me than anything fancy. the rice was fluffy and had that perfect vinegar kick, not too warm or too cold.

my freind got the spicy tuna roll and it was actually spicy not just drenched in mayo I had to get a second one

service was chill and friendly, never felt rushed or ignored even though they were pretty busy. beer selection is small but what they have pairs well. definately going to be my go to spot when im in the agoura area again“

“Great little sushi spot in Westlake Village. The fish was fresh and the hand rolls and pressed sushi were standout, especially the salmon avocado. The service was excellent: attentive, friendly, and happy to help with the menu. It's a cozy space and seating is limited, so I'd recommend a reservation at peak times. It's a bit pricey, but the quality and hospitality make it worth it. We'll be back!“

“Just had the most fabulous meal here. The waiter Gerry, the sushi chefs Jerry and Peter made the most enjoyable experience someone could have. The rolls and sashimi are so fresh just like butter. “Saturday afternoon (yes, I know, ramen in a heatwave no judgment please 😂). I’m new to the area, so I asked Claude to recommend a spot, and it pointed me here.

Walked in and used their convenient self-checkout to place a to go order spicy beef ramen for myself. I was greeted by the sweet and amazing Eric, and honestly, I don’t think I waited more than 5 minutes for my food. Beyond impressed with the speed.

The packaging was on point, and the ramen itself was so flavorful. I could’ve gone spicier (I can handle the heat!), but that’s a me thing, not a them thing.

Will definitely be back. Highly recommend if you’re in Simi Valley and craving real ramen.“

“I literally just came out of Fitness 19 and decided to finally try Kazuya, and I am honestly blown away. We usually go to Minato or other sushi places in Thousand Oaks, so I wasn’t sure what to expect, but this place was fantastic.
The fish was so fresh, the variety was amazing, and the rolls were really interesting and different. They also have a great happy hour, the prices are very reasonable, and the customer service was excellent.
I’m so glad I decided to give this place a try. Definitely one of those hidden gems right here in Moorpark, and we will absolutely be coming back!“

“I’ve been going to Sumo Sushi in Newbury Park for well over 18 years, typically on a weekly or biweekly basis, and I can confidently say it has been one of the most consistently good restaurants in the area.

Over all those years, whether dining in or ordering takeout, I have never had a significant issue with the food, service, or quality. The staff has always been friendly and attentive, the food is consistently fresh, and my orders have been prepared correctly. There’s a reason I have continued coming back for nearly two decades.

I’ve noticed some recent negative reviews that appear to involve orders placed through third-party food delivery services. I think it’s important to distinguish between an issue with the restaurant and an issue that occurs after the food leaves the restaurant. Delivery delays, handling, missing items after pickup, or food arriving cold can involve the delivery service and driver and are not necessarily a reflection of the restaurant itself.

Based on 18+ years of firsthand experience, Sumo Sushi has earned my trust. Restaurants can have an occasional off day, but consistency over nearly two decades says far more to me than a handful of negative delivery-related reviews. Sumo Sushi continues to be one of my go-to restaurants in Newbury Park, and I highly recommend giving them a try—especially dining in and experiencing the food and service firsthand.“

“TUESDAY FOOD REVIEW...HAI SUSHI (again)...3/5/24! Today we went back to Hai Sushi, located at 1101 E Los Angeles Ave., in Simi Valley, for lunch. We have eaten there many times over the years, as their food is always DELICIOUS!!! I had their Miso Soup, Spring Greens Salad, 911 Roll, Lobster Roll, Shrimp Tempura, Fresh Water Eel, Spicy Scallop Hand Roll, Garlic Edamame, Yellowtail Sushi, and Salmon Sushi. And it was as it always is, fresh and delicious!!!! Definitely Simi Valley's best sushi restaurant!!!“

“Wanted to try something new in the area and stumbled upon this place for dinner. Overall it was great as there was a huge menu on the wall and the place was well decorated with lanterns with sakura trees. It’s a place where you would come to for something quick. I dined-in since traveling with a bowl of hot udon isn’t ideal. Service was great!

I ordered the Udon with Tempura Shrimp and asked the person at the cashier what they recommend as an appetizer and he stated that the Potstickers were a usual go-to which is what I got. The price for the udon was fairly priced, but maybe not for the potstickers. However, I do understand the economy so it’s reasonable, I guess…

The udon noodles were nicely textured and had 2 pieces of narutomaki (maybe not enough in my opinion). Wasn’t sure what the other things in the udon was but it melted quick. The tempura shrimp are similar to the ones I get at Costco. I believe I was 75% full after eating that complete meal which is a good percentage.“

“We will not return. SOME staff is just too volatile & moody & rude. We have been going here often. The last straw was last Monday at 4:30 pm when the rude Korean waitress Sylvia (?) refused to seat us in the closest booths ( "No those are for employees "🤔) and then refused us another booth because we were only two people. Mind you we've sat at every booth many times every time because of our back issues. Even though I have a cane, she often makes us wait when the place is clearly dead. The only pleasant staff is Manny, Vanessa & the nice female Hispanic bus person. But Sylvia & the very gruff Chinese woman act like they are doing you a huge favor. I have overlooked their rudeness before, but this was it for us. Perhaps she doesn't like people line me with canes. We will go to Kyoto instead or Hai Sushi we do not need to be treated rudely.“
