“We had a great dining experience at Urban Plates in Long Beach. Mariana explained the menu choices in a very unrushed manner, and we decided on the steak. I ordered the Chimichurri grass-fed steak with balsamic brussel sprouts and herb-roasted potatoes. All of it was delicious ( and healthy too!). The deserts were absolutely killer too. We will definitely eat here again next time we're in Long Beach.“

“This is an overall great place for a group setting. It was too hot to eat outdoor but there is a nice patio. It's in a large shopping mall so not a particularly romantic setting. However, the meals are reasonably priced. We really liked the fact that we could have separate checks.“

“Real crab in the burrito-peefect.The Cancun burrito which had grilled fish and real crab, had an amazing flavor. It comes with tortilla which is great with the salsa bar. Great flavors, ch I ices and pther items at the self service bar. Especially the Habanero. Staff are welcoming and friendly which is a high point. I wished the burrito was a little larger, but with the chips amd crab is filling. I cannot wait to come back again. Overall, 10/10. Flavor 10/10. Cleanliness 10/10. Parking: In the same small shopping center there is a grocer, a smoke shop, a dollar store and Laundromat among other businesses. The lot tends to be busy.

“I’ve been here a couple of times and this place doesn’t disappoint. We were five of us and decided to order the food family style so we could sample different dishes. Laab— being a Marvel fan, I can’t eat or order this dish without thinking of Spider Man. When Peter Parker is with his aunt May in a Thai restaurant and she says she Laab’s him 🥰 There’s something so refreshing about this dish — ground chicken, mint, thai basil and a chili lime dressing. It was delicious and fresh tasting. Roti and curry sauce - so interestingly roti is the Indian whole wheat flour East Indian flatbread that is usually cooked on a cast iron ‘tava’ and finished on the open flame. It is a daily staple in the meals of most Indian families. But for Thai people, roti is a fried version of this. Served with a green curry sauce as an appetizer it takes on a completely different flavor. Slightly greasy but I mean come on, how can you go wrong with fried dough. The green curry sauce is delicious. Khao Soi - this dish came with egg noodles already in it, but also with crispy noodles that softened as they soaked into the curry. Pad See Ew - flat rice noodles with egg and Chinese broccoli. We ordered this with tofu and holy cow it might be the best tofu I’ve eaten. It was perfectly cooked and crispy on the outside and creamy deliciousness on the inside. It soaked in the flavors of the dish so well- I wanted to keep eating this well past my full point. This was definitely my favorite. And now, since mangoes are in season, they had mango sticky rice as dessert. I was raised in India and so am a mango snob. Nothing, and I do mean nothing compares to an Indian Alphonso mango. But, the mango they served us, with purple jasmine sticky rice was something I grudgingly had to agree was delicious. And the sweet juiciness of the mango contrasts perfectly with the creamy texture of the sticky rice. No Thai meal is ever complete without Thai iced tea— which was delicious and well made. All in all a really delicious meal. Service was slightly on the slower side - but we were in no hurry and ended up lingering for quite a while after the meal. Can’t wait to go back.“

I also really love the story behind it—founded by Khalil Rafati, who survived homelessness and addiction whose personal journey commitment to health and wellness is reflected in everything they do.

“I love love love this place. The drinks are delicious. My favorite is the superfruit tea that contains fresh fruit. Sometimes I just get a plain tea lightly sweetened. They use really high-quality teas. When I'm in the mood for a sweet treat, I like to get either a Thai tea or strawberry matcha with strawberry boba. I'm working my way through the menu. Everything is so good. Fresh teas and fresh fruits make them really stand out. They also have lots of jelly and boba toppings to choose from. The snacks are also quite tasty. The tokoyaki is good. I also always check out the snacks at the counter. Sometimes they have really great Asian pastry snacks. Depends on the day. But it's always fun to check out what they have. The staff are really nice, and the place is totally cute. There are stuffed animals and toys for sale. The stock changes, which makes it fun to look around. Great for gifts!
