“I can't believe it's taken me this long to write a review for Side Street, I am always in a happy food comma post-brunch and forget. Side Street has long been my absolute favorite restaurant in Ventura County! When it comes to the menu at Side Street, you genuinely can't make a wrong choice. Personally, I'm hooked on their country fried steak and waffles. Hands down the best gravy you'll ever have! There's something about the way they make their coffee that has me drinking half a pot of coffee I swear. When I go out to eat, I expect the food to be better than what I could make myself at home. It's a standard that so many breakfast/lunch restaurants seem to miss, but Side Street consistently exceeds these expectations without fail. What sets Side Street apart is not only the outstanding food but also their commitment to keeping prices reasonable. You definitely get more than your money's worth here! So many of their dishes come with 1) eggs, 2) toast or biscuits & gravy, AND 3) home fries or hash browns. It's a breakfast lover's dream come true! In the post-COVID era, the closure of so many beloved family-owned restaurants was heartbreaking. Side Street not only weathered the storm but continues to thrive. Stepping into Side Street feels like entering a home away from home. Suzanne, the owner and founder, is a constant presence, working alongside her husband, Ryan, and son, Drew. This is as family-owned as it gets, and that authenticity resonates in every corner of the restaurant. What truly makes Side Street special is the family environment. “This is an overall great place for a group setting. It was too hot to eat outdoor but there is a nice patio. It's in a large shopping mall so not a particularly romantic setting. However, the meals are reasonably priced. We really liked the fact that we could have separate checks.“

“We were here on a Tuesday and it was busy when we arrived and busy with people waiting when we left. Definitely a favorite for the locals! We were seated quickly and the service was fast. Our omelettes were delicious as was the cinnamon roll french toast topped with bananas, strawberries, blueberries and whipped cream! Wow! It was a special of the day and so, so good! Lovely place, nothing fancy but very nice. Hope to be back if we pass that way again.“

“I’m so glad I found this place. Yes it is the BEST sushi in Conejo Valley. The chef knows his fish. We got most of the specials on the board which were mostly from Japan. I will say that it was expensive but so worth it. Maybe stick to the nigiri on the menu and it won’t cost so much. But I’m so glad I do not have to drive into LA for great sushi. I’m a fan.“

“If you have $10 in your pocket, you can feast like a king here. Tacos are $3 a piece and very authentic. And they are not shy about portions. The price to quality ratio here is insane. Best tacos in town by far and they happen to be the most affordable.

The burritos are not massive but they are very flavorful and filling. All of their salsas are great too. The staff are very friendly and give great service. Amazing churros and fried plantains! I’ve had nearly everything on the menu and none of it has disappointed. You really can’t make a bad choice here.“

“Real crab in the burrito-peefect.The Cancun burrito which had grilled fish and real crab, had an amazing flavor. It comes with tortilla which is great with the salsa bar. Great flavors, ch I ices and pther items at the self service bar. Especially the Habanero. Staff are welcoming and friendly which is a high point. I wished the burrito was a little larger, but with the chips amd crab is filling. I cannot wait to come back again. Overall, 10/10. Flavor 10/10. Cleanliness 10/10. Chill place to eat inside or on the patio.“

“We got our usual burritos, a Fajita burrito and a Chile Relleno burrito. They are both so flavorful! I highly recommend all of their burritos. The burritos are so large we cut them in half and have them for lunch the next day.
Their chips are excellent as well, they definitely don’t taste like they’re coming out of a bag from the grocery store!“

“This place is one of a kind. From the atmosphere to the customer service. Walking in you see the amazing mural they have on the back wall but you also get an instant aroma of the delicious food they have brewing. Jesse’s friendly face at the counter invites you in and his knowledge of the food leaves you conflicted on what to order. I had a classic, their menudo. It came with handmade tortillas and their taco bar has the most flavorful red salsa I’ve ever had. Perfect combination for the menudo. I also had an agua fresca. Their cucumber mint was refreshing. My girlfriend had their pozole. Although I didn’t taste it I couldn’t help but steal one of her tostadas, slap on some of that red salsa and some cheese and sour cream. To finish it off we had a plátano frito with lechera. Honestly, everything was to die for. Will definitely be back for more. We were left with a craving for their specialty, their huarache.“

“I always have a great experience at Toppers Pizza in Thousand Oaks. The pizza is consistently delicious, the toppings are fresh, and their salad bar is one of my favorites. It’s also a great spot to grab some food, watch a game, and hang out with friends or family. The atmosphere is casual and welcoming, and the staff is always friendly and helpful. Definitely one of my go-to pizza spots in Ventura County and a place I’d recommend to anyone looking for a great local pizza experience!“

“I was in your Palmdale, CA location. I am deaf and read lips. With masks, I obviously can't read lips. I asked the person behind the counter if he could write down what he was saying, after explaining my situation. He looked at me like I had just asked him to do something illegal. This is unacceptable. I asked to speak to the manager. I inquired about diversity training and she said Sharky's doesn't provide that. It seems that they also do not follow ADA rules either. Disabilities do not end at physical.“

“I’ve been here a couple of times and this place doesn’t disappoint. We were five of us and decided to order the food family style so we could sample different dishes. Laab— being a Marvel fan, I can’t eat or order this dish without thinking of Spider Man. When Peter Parker is with his aunt May in a Thai restaurant and she says she Laab’s him 🥰 There’s something so refreshing about this dish — ground chicken, mint, thai basil and a chili lime dressing. It was delicious and fresh tasting. Roti and curry sauce - so interestingly roti is the Indian whole wheat flour East Indian flatbread that is usually cooked on a cast iron ‘tava’ and finished on the open flame. It is a daily staple in the meals of most Indian families. But for Thai people, roti is a fried version of this. Served with a green curry sauce as an appetizer it takes on a completely different flavor. Slightly greasy but I mean come on, how can you go wrong with fried dough. The green curry sauce is delicious. Khao Soi - this dish came with egg noodles already in it, but also with crispy noodles that softened as they soaked into the curry. Pad See Ew - flat rice noodles with egg and Chinese broccoli. We ordered this with tofu and holy cow it might be the best tofu I’ve eaten. It was perfectly cooked and crispy on the outside and creamy deliciousness on the inside. It soaked in the flavors of the dish so well- I wanted to keep eating this well past my full point. This was definitely my favorite. And now, since mangoes are in season, they had mango sticky rice as dessert. I was raised in India and so am a mango snob. Nothing, and I do mean nothing compares to an Indian Alphonso mango. But, the mango they served us, with purple jasmine sticky rice was something I grudgingly had to agree was delicious. And the sweet juiciness of the mango contrasts perfectly with the creamy texture of the sticky rice. No Thai meal is ever complete without Thai iced tea— which was delicious and well made. All in all a really delicious meal. Service was slightly on the slower side - but we were in no hurry and ended up lingering for quite a while after the meal. Can’t wait to go back.“
