“Taste of Himalayas offers an authentic Indian and Nepali dining experience with a charming atmosphere and impressive flavors. The decor reflects both Indian and Nepali influences, creating a cozy and inviting ambiance. From the moment you step in, the welcoming staff makes you feel at home, adding a personal touch to the experience.
The food here is remarkable, with the daal tadka and paneer chilli being standout dishes. The daal is flavorful, with just the right blend of spices, and the paneer chilli is delightfully seasoned, delivering a perfect balance of heat and savoriness. Pairing these with the garlic naan, which is perfectly soft with a hint of crispness, enhances each bite and is a must-try for naan lovers.
The meal ends on a slightly less memorable note with the gulab jamun, which was just average in taste compared to the other dishes. Still, overall, Taste of Himalayas is a wonderful choice for those seeking authentic flavors in a warm setting. The combination of excellent food, friendly service, and beautiful decor make it a place worth revisiting.“

“A friend of mine recommended this place because he would take his golf industry customers here. I went here for lunch and brought some co-workers with me. The food was great. We got the 65 chicken to start, tikka masala, and one other thing that they recommended. I can’t remember what is was, but it was good. We ordered everything mild to make the group happy and the spice level was perfect for the everyone. I would have probably liked medium, but it was still good. The starter, two entrees, rice, and garlic naan was plenty of food for 4 dudes. It’s a smaller place and not fancy, but we didn’t care. We came for the food and the food did not disappoint. I will go back.“

“I just feel so great and thankful today
Thought to share with you ?I know it’s a bit long, and not related with food but plz read this as this will show how beautiful hearted people are the owners of this business ?
Last night, I was in a tough situation and didn’t had any choices. I needed to send a Rakhi to my brother but since I was already late in planning, I thought I will order food from an Indian restaurant ‘Tandoori guys’ in San Diego with some sweets through GrubHub. But didn’t know how to send Rakhi since I hadn't planned ahead. It was already late, and I was running out of options. Suddenly, an idea struck me: maybe the restaurant could help. I called them, explained my situation, and Sam directed to speak with a guy named Gary, whose real name is Nuvdeep Bhullar (owner).
I explained to Nuvdeep that I wanted to order food to be delivered to my brother's house the next morning, and I asked him if there is any indian grocery next to him , and if he could grab 2 Rakhi’s and put inside with food delivery and I will pay him for that. Nuvdeep was incredibly understanding and told me he would go out of his way to get the Rakhis from an Indian store that was far from his place.
When I got to know that Indian store was far from him, I told him not to worry, but Despite the inconvenience, he agreed to help and reassured me that he would take care of everything.
The next morning, I woke up to a message with a picture showing the Rakhis and sweets delivered to my brother's doorstep. Navdeep had gone above and beyond, driving to the store early in the morning, purchasing the Rakhis and sweets, and delivering them personally. I was overwhelmed with gratitude and deeply moved by his kindness.
When I called to thank him and offer to pay for the items and his trouble, Nuvdeep refused to accept any money, insisting that it was a small gesture and he was happy to help. His selflessness and generosity left me speechless. Knowing that someone like Nuvdeep, who owns multiple restaurants and has a busy life, took the time to help a stranger in need, restored my faith in humanity. It was a powerful reminder that kindness still exists in the world, and I will forever be grateful for his help. God will always help you if you help someone ?“

“We have enjoyed dining there. So, for a birthday celebration we ordered from the catering menu. We got a large butter chicken, small lamb masala, small naan, and a large basmati rice. The food was ready for pickup when we got there and everyone raved about it! Thanks Himalayan Bistro!“

“What a hidden gem!! We ended up ordering off the menu ( butter chicken, daal, naan and biryani) everything was authentic and delicious. Family run business. Randy the owner kept checking in to see if we were happy with everything. His brother Rajj was serving and very knowledgeable about the menu and gave us great advice on choices. If you like to support local family businesses, this one is a must to visit! Good Luck guys and keep up the good work.“

“I wish more people ate at this place, it’s such an underrated Indian restaurant. Second time here and tried the chicken biryani. Best damn biryani I’ve ever had in my life. (My picture doesn’t do it justice but the bowl was FULL and enough to share with three people if you combine it with naan). The first time I had the tikka and the samosas which were amazing as well. I can’t say enough about this place, It’s better than any other Indian restaurants I’ve tried at major cities or more well known areas. So awesome to have this place here in Oside ????“

“Indian/Nepalese cuisine is one of my favorite cuisines. I am South African and grew up eating eating variety of traditional curries and stews. I travel a lot for work and have had the fortune of trying some of the best Indian restaurants in the nation, including dozens of places in SoCal. Everest Himalayan Cuisine is by far, the best restaurant I've ever been to. This cozy casual restaurant opened in November originally for take-out. I am a big fan of dine-in, so I was excited to find out that they recently opened for dine-in. I came with my best friend (we're always looking for new favorite restaurants). We decided to get a couple things to share. Started off with the Lamb Momos. They were such a wonderful treat. For Entrees, we went with the Lamb Tikka Masala and the Butter Chicken with Cilantro Garlic Naan. While eating our Momos, an adjacent table received their Tandoori Chicken and Lamb. It smelled and sounded so good, we decided that we would have to order more (we also ordered Chicken Vindaloo and Chicken Tandoori). Our food came, and when I dipped my Naan into the sauce, I nearly cried it was so good. It reminded me of a better version of my grandmas famous Tikka Masala. It's was then, that I knew this would become my new favorite place. It was so flavorful and luscious. All the meat was so tender. The Naan was supple, while pillowy and stretchy at the same time, (clearly proofed perfectly). Every dish we tried was the best iteration of the dish I've ever had. I usually order my food quite spicy (9-10), but if you like a flavorful warm heat, get a 5 to 7. We ordered another order of the Cilantro Garlic Naan to get every bit of the sauce. I know I'll be back soon. I really would like to try more of their dishes and their desserts. They also have a nice Lunch Special, I'd like to try. Thank you for sticking around, and reading to the end. I hope more people discover this new place; there's nothing like it, especially in San Diego.“

“Don't listen to the 1 star review person...It appears maybe they did not like the dish they got. It also looks like they poured the dish into the to go rice box making a messy looking photo (not how they should eat that dish).
Anyways, the family run "hole in the wall" restaurant is outstanding. I have eaten here for a decade and consider it the best Indian food I have found so far (tried 4-5 other places).
Favorite dish: chicken korma, basmati rice and coconut Nan (an amazing sweet curry).
The price and wait time is worth it. Just make sure you have a good idea of what dish you might like so you don't end up like the one star guy. I could easily mash food together like a child and present an otherwise delicious looking dish as garbage in a photo.
Side note, the first dish I tried there I did not care for (fried pork dish). I am very happy I tried them again. My whole family raves about their curry and Nan bread.
5 stars for the owners and the food!“

He had the kiddos and adults engaged the entire time and his cooking skills are incredible! The manager was so kind, the server was extremely friendly! “My absolute *favorite* restaurant! Best paneer tikka masala I’ve ever had! I don’t eat meat, but my friends who order the chicken tikka masala give it the same praise. Staff is great, food is unbeatable. Samosas are also great! I bring all my friends here when they visit the village and they’re all super impressed with how delicious the food is. Great takeout option too.
Vegetarian options: Plenty of vegetarian options!“
