“The chicken gordo burrito (spicy, of course, and always with a side of limes and pickled jalapeños) is perhaps the most affordable and delicious burrrito in Chico California. The 2 for $6 bean, rice, cheese and salsa burrito is incredibly affordable, and an excellent option for anyone against eating meat. This has been my favorite burrito truck for years. I am sad everytime I drive by this spot craving a burrito, only to find they are gone. Highly recommend!“

“This is our go-to spot whenever we find ourselves traveling through Chico. Our favs are the asada salad, albondigas, and Super Molcajete. The steak on the asada salad is SO tasty, all you need is a little lime juice for dressing. Light, filling, and delicious. Their 'hot' salsa is delicious, and they have really good, creamy flan and tasty micheladas! The staff is always friendly and accommodating. We have taken a large group of people twice, and both times they exceeded expectations.“

“A great place to go if you’re looking for affordable food that is also tasty. They have great breakfast burritos and a flavorful green salsa. This place also makes the best Horchata you will find for miles. You can call and order ahead which is nice. There’s a small outdoor eating area but very limited parking. It’s definitely more of a to-go type of restaurant. I love that even if you only order a single taco they always include lime, radish, and salt. The little gestures matter so much.“

“Yum! Had EJ’s at Secret Trail a few times. Always great. I’ve had the shrimp burrito and veggie burrito. I lived in San Diego for a long time and if this truck were there, it would STILL be my go-to burrito place. I feel really lucky that they are In Chico. Also, the people working here are always really nice. Tip: Might want to split a burrito with someone, it’s a ton of food.“

“Not for the first time we catered a dinner from La Familia. They never disappoint, always serving up fresh and yummy food. A big salad, enchiladas, queso dias, rice and beans, chips and salsa with hot sauce and sour cream. We were stuffed!“

The food was flavorful, I ordered a torta, and the bread was soft but crisp at the edges, with soft meat (surprisingly with NO NERVES) and their salsas and complementary salsa table just hit the spot.
The only thing is that it is situated next to a gasoline station, so there’s like 7 parking spots total, otherwise there is free street parking. (There should always be one or two spots open as most clients order to-go)“

Nice picnic tables to sit at with shaded umbrellas. Definitely going to be putting this one on our comeback again soon list.

Unexpected twist and really brought the flavors together. Atmosphere is warm and welcoming. Store bought chips with no seasoning, cheese was way down in the pile of chips, salsa was so much, I’m so disappointed as I buy food from them at least once a week and have enjoyed everything I’ve ordered so far except for the nachos I got today. I had 4 bits and threw the rest away. 🥺“
