“Every time I walk into Dr. Grubb’s, I’m reminded why it remains one of the Village’s most reliable casual dining spots. The restaurant strikes a balance between quick-service convenience and a warm, modern atmosphere, creating a space that feels both efficient and inviting. The wooden countertops, purple LED lighting, and clean, industrial seating give it a contemporary California-fresh identity that aligns perfectly with their customizable bowls and grilled plates. Even during busier hours, the layout makes the experience feel open and easy to navigate.“

“Their dumplings are so flavorful and their prices are so affordable! I always order the pork xiao long baos and also recommend the pan fried pork dumplings, any of the wonton dishes, and the cucumber salad! Out of their dessert buns I like their sesame buns the best, then the sweet custard, then the red bean. I don't order them as much because I get too full on savory dumplings, but really recommend getting them if you have room.
They usually don't have any music playing, but the foos comes out so fast that I don't mind the silence in the restaurant, which is only the case when no other patrons are seated.
Xiao Long Bao - so juicy, so flavorful, perfect amount of filling. I love these so much and they are definitely my favorite dish from here! 10/10
Pan Fried Pork Dumplings - very juicy for a pan fried dumpling, but somehow still so crispy! 9.5/10
Wonton Soup - I prefer their wonton soup over their spicy ones because it's much more flavorful with the broth! 9/10
Dan Dan Noodles - so flavorful, packed with meat, great sharing dish! I always order it if I'm eating with 3+ others 9/10
Cucumber Salad - Love how the cucumbers aren't too vinegar tasting as I don't enjoy pickle flavors much, but definitely add some soy sauce and chili oil to make the dish even tastier 8.5/10
Spicy Wontons - I wish there was more flavor added than just spicy for their spicy wontons, and their not as spicy as I would like 8/10“

“Fantastic food. I had the black cod, it was light and fresh, I highly recommend. Great service by Kee and the coffee was excellent. This is a great place to meet clients for lunch or dinner because it is quiet and you can probably utilize the lounge areas outside. A great Claremont meeting place!“

“If I could give this place 10 stars out of five I would, I've been eating here for years and it's just as good every time. I always get the Lomo saltado with the potato things instead of fries the green sauce is out of this world. This is some last meal stuff I would recommend anybody come here for any occasion so good I'm so happy they reopened.“

“If you’re in Claremont, CA, and craving authentic Lebanese flavors, Al Amir Bakery is a must-visit. This family-owned gem specializes in manakeesh—Lebanese flatbreads baked to perfection. The za’atar and cheese manakeesh is a standout, featuring a harmonious blend of thyme, sumac, sesame seeds, and creamy white cheese atop a chewy, blistered crust. The hummus is smooth and creamy, while the foul (fava bean stew) is zesty with lemon and garlic, served with freshly baked pita. With its warm hospitality and affordable prices, Al Amir Bakery offers a delightful taste of Lebanon right in Claremont“

“Very homey Italian restaurant, with tasteful decor on the walls, ambient music, and dim (but not dark) lighting. Ordered calamari, which was not bad per say, but lacked any crunch- the sauces the accompanied it had little flavor, to the already, fairly bland, calamari.
Although I did not order the salad, I was told that the dressing was pretty good. The salmon bisque was also just okay- nothing really stood out about it.
The sourdough garlic bread is absolutely delicious (though a pain to cut into neatly!). Lasagne and gnocchi dishes were both equally flavorful. Not pictured was the tiramisu with the delicious mascarpone, which is enough to share amongst two.
Although not something that can be entirely controlled for, it can get a bit loud inside from the other patrons.“

“It's 10pm, you're hungry and nowhere else is open for some pho... so I found this place and without even looking at photos I went over, and what an insane surprise, rave + pho??? Who would have thought, such a cool combo!
It was filled with strobes and some fog, made a really cool night vibe inside the restaurant, especially since I didn't know what to expect.
It wasn't long before I got seated, and the menu is very straight forward. I got ribeye pho and bahn mi, the sandwich was big, definitely not a small size you could split it if you really wanted. But it was flavorful! The broth of the pho was heavenly, and it came with so many noodles and meat, they don't skip out on everything here and you’re not going to finish everything with 90% of the broth left. Good vibes, good food, and a late night party theme“

“Some places aren’t just restaurants—they’re memory machines. For my dad, this Round Table was the taste of high school, sweat still on his jersey after a game, friends piling into booths, and the kind of pizza that made the world feel bigger than it was. Coming back here for his birthday wasn’t just dinner, it was a return ticket to those nights. This is a franchise, sure, but ownership matters—and this one gets it. The hospitality wasn’t some corporate script; it was human, generous, and real. They went out of their way to make the night feel special. My dad lit up. That alone was worth five stars. And yes, they had anchovies. The true test. Salty, sharp, unapologetic—the topping that separates the tourists from the lifers. Combine that with friendly, attentive service and you’ve got the kind of place where you don’t complain, you just eat, drink, and remember why simple things matter.“

“I want to first preface this by stating that I gave the atmosphere 5 even though it's not a fancy restaurant.
Yesterday after an family Easter gathering I wanted pizza. l opted for the Gourmet Veggie Pizza. Yesterday's pizza was one of the best pizzas I’ve ever had. The pizza was so beautiful, the ingredients were fresh and it was baked to perfection. I can't rave enough about their Gourmet Veggie pizza. Whoever made my pizza yesterday, thank you thank you!“
“I recently visited Star Wok in Claremont, CA, and ordered their three-item combo featuring orange chicken, beef with broccoli, and teriyaki chicken. The portions were generous, and every dish was fresh and bursting with flavor. Definitely a satisfying meal that hit the spot. I’ll surely be coming back for more!“

“I used to frequent the Claremont location, was pretty excited not to drive all the way To Claremont. First disappointment, this place doesn’t just sell the only meat, either a pita sandwich or a plate, which I need since I made my own sides. Second disappointment after order something I wanted since you don’t sell just the meat, my order was so over cooked and dry, the cooked seems to and extra sauce to make moist again- pretty disappointed. The service was great, just the quality of food was horrible.“

“I've been going to Viva Madrid since about 2008 and I always get a variety of their tapas. Many of the same ones every time. I've introduced this restaurant to more then 20+ people who now take their friends and families. The food is delicious but lately I'm having to ask for extra sauce on the chicken empanada (which is my favorite) and the spicy potatoes. If you don't, half will be without sauce and will be dry. Also try their red Sangria. It's delicious.“

“A very cute crepe restaurant in Claremont with an interior that may resemble the streets of Paris. But of course, you go here for the food. And the food is great! The crepes are very flavorful and the fillings are great. A little on the pricier side, but great food regardless. Check them out!“

“This was my first time going to Dog Haus and it was a great Friday night! They have quite an extensive menu of beers and dogs/sausages. They also had a whole breakfast burrito menu and sides such as tots, fries, and onion rings. If you're not into beer they also have cocktails available. The set up is you order at the bar as soon as you walk in and then they bring it out to your table. I got the downtown dog, a blonde beer, and an order of the chili tots with cole slaw on top. It was all very tasty and the perfect salty bar food to go with my beer. Later on in the night I also got a strawberry vodka drink that was very tasty. My hot dog was a take on LA street dogs. The bun was soft and the dog was juicy. It had bacon bits, Ketchup, mustard, mayo, peppers, and onions. The space itself has a variety of seating options including long communal tables which is great if you're wanting to gather with a lot of people. The ordering at the bar makes it convenient to not have to split tabs at the end of a meal. All the ppl working were friendly and helpful when I had questions about the beers and menu. The outdoor patio was great and has corn hole, a oversized connect 4, and TVs for game day viewing. They also had very reasonable prices! I saw a couple of parents with their kids, a group of guys gathering , and a couple on a date. It's a very versatile space. They even had space heaters for the patio! I will definitely be back as they had so many menu items I wanted to try!
Side note I found out that they are under new ownership. I didn't have anything but a great experience.“

“Bua Thai Cuisine is an absolute gem! We ordered the Thai spring rolls, apple salad, stuffed mushrooms, chicken phad Thai, and the combination phad see ew — and every single dish was bursting with authentic flavor and made with the freshest ingredients. The attention to detail in the seasoning and presentation really stood out — you can taste the care in every bite.
The service was top-notch — friendly, attentive, and quick without ever feeling rushed. The ambiance is warm, cozy, and family-oriented, making it the perfect place for a relaxing dinner or casual get-together.
It’s rare to find a restaurant that nails every aspect — food, service, and atmosphere — but Bua Thai Cuisine truly does. Highly recommend to anyone looking for delicious, authentic Thai food in Claremont!“

“A Hidden Gem That Feels Like the French Quarter Itself! From the moment we stepped into The Quarter in Claremont, it was like being whisked straight to New Orleans. The atmosphere was electric — the scent of Creole spices in the air, the soft hum of conversation mingled with jazz playing in the background, and the decor that looked plucked right out of the French Quarter. I half-expected to walk outside and find a brass band on the corner! We started with the soft-shelled crab and grits, perfectly crisp and full of Southern comfort. The fried catfish topped with crawfish étouffée was rich, flavorful, and absolutely indulgent — pure Louisiana soul on a plate. The roasted catfish with lump crab was delicate yet decadent, each bite melting in your mouth. Even the bread and butter were unforgettable — the sweet Creole butter was so good we could’ve made a meal out of it alone. Our bourbon cocktails were spot-on — smooth, balanced, and crafted with care — and we finished with the bread pudding drizzled in warm bourbon sauce, which was heavenly. Every dish was layered with flavor and heart. A special shoutout to José, our server, who was not only attentive and friendly but truly made us feel like family. His recommendations were perfect! We live three and a half hours away, but honestly, I’d make the drive again just for a date night here. It’s that good. The Quarter doesn’t just serve food — it serves an experience.“
