However, Camille suggested a couple of dishes for us and they did not disappoint and in fact I would’ve licked the plates if it was publicly appropriate. We enjoyed the large window at the kitchen area so you can see the Chefs at work. We got to sit next to the impressive wine rack display. “Neighborhood spot attached to a pastrami place. Closes a little early and errs on the pricey side considering its proximity to excellent (also pricey) late night food. Absolutely beautiful interior always playing old movies and current sports. Insanely underused and gigantic patio outside with a roaring firepit and plenty of tables. I really hope more people start hanging out here! It's pretty silent on weekdays and I've never seen it packed.“

What we didn’t expect was to be blown away by their variety of food options, from fried bar bites to comforting entrees and everywhere in between. Their KFC (Korean Fried Chicken) was served hot (temperature) from the kitchen with the skin in perfect crispiness and meat so juicy.

But the real star of the meal was their Volcano Beef Stirfry- you know it’s the dish to get when you see it served to every table! Be warned: the spice level is no joke here. We ordered with a level 1 out of 4 spice and that was perfect amount for me (and I can handle ??)

“I didn't even know this place existed until a neighbor took me here. Its very spacious it's super clean and it's definitely much better than most neighborhood bars. I actually thought this place was a liquor store in passing. Sally is a great bartender. Very personable and a joy to converse with. There's 3 pool tables and ample room for a crowd.“

“We joined for their soft opening over the weekend. The food was great and the service was excellent. We especially liked the pretzels, the steak frites and the pastries.

Parking: The parking is inside the main structure by the stop light. It was nice and new!

“I’ve been eating here through 3 ownerships since the 1970s. I really like the new menu, the outdoor eating area and the bar. The service isn’t 5 star but it’s good as it ever was and I’m fine with it. Unfortunately Ihad a very lousy customer service incident on the phone tonight after they botched my delivery order. I ordered grilled cheese sandwich and onion rings. Postmates delivered matzoball soup and rings. Johnny’s customer service lady (didn’t offer name) and the manager refused all responsibility for the wrong item they mispacked; she told me to take it up with Postmates. OK, but meanwhile can I get my sandwich that Johnny’s failed on? “Take it up with Postmates.” When I questioned that logic from a customer service perspective she said “you’re failing to understand!” and told me “don’t get an attitude with me!” I replied “an attitude with YOU?” and she hung up on me. Come on, Johnny’s, this whole thing started with your mistake. Accept responsibility and make it right. Don’t blame delivery. Just make it right.“

I can walk here, but if you're driving, I would get there early as parking can be difficult as it is all over Long Beach. The bartenders here are great as well. Paul is one of the best.“

“lemme tell ya 'bout Kelly's Tavern. Shiiiit, them drinks was cold, that Bloody Mary was fire, and dem bartenders? Lawd have mercy, they was fine as hell.
I went in for a lil' somethin' somethin', and lemme tell ya, I almost forgot why I came in the first place. I was too busy watchin' them mix dem drinks. It was like a magic show, but instead of rabbits, they were pullin' out these incredible cocktails.

“Drinks are good and vibes are good. Gets packed on Fridays and Saturdays but still is a good bar for the area. Tee is a great bartender, very friendly and she makes good drinks and nice to talk to. The one thing I don’t like about this bar is that despite its cool heavy metal, goth Game of Thrones-esque design, there is not enough heavy metal playing. Still, pretty cool bar but please play more metal or at least classic Rock.“
