“Visiting the area and found this lovely location. Corner of a shopping area on a major street, this store is easy to find. Parking is not too difficult even through this nice weekend day has a lot of activity near by. The indoor seating is there, but not as much as the great patio area on the side of the building. Baristas were very pleasant, friendly, and in a good mood. Busy location with people coming in for take out. Glad I got the opportunity to find this place and hang out for a while.“

“One of my favorite stops for a latte! I've been loving their seasonal tiramisu latte, so fun and aesthetic! Their food is also good, of course, cafe coffee and breakfast items are not cheap, I mean you can't even go to McDonald's without flinching at the cost, so be prepared for this to not be your basic cup of black coffee and croissant. I haven't ordered something at Retrograde that I haven't liked, bummer is, the place has become so popular over the years that a wait is almost always required when stopping in, with very minimal seating available.“

“I could not resist coming here after seeing their creative menu! And it was WORTH it. I came here with my boyfriend and we each got two drinks because we were so curious and excited, lol: the Aztec, the Horchata Latte, the Bourbon Coconut Latte and a regular mocha. They were all sooo good - the Horchata Latte being the star of the day.We also each got an empanada: beef and vegetarian, also fantastic. Word of warning though - they are far smaller than I expected. I thought we were going to get something the size of a hand pie but they're about half that big. I'm personally okay with that because they were extremely tasty and I wasn't looking to eat much. $7 for the size would probably be a bit pricey to some people, but I think for something local, and so good, it's fair. Plus the coffee is surprisingly inexpensive for an artisan coffee house so it balances out.You can sit by the river in either a lounge chair, at a picnic bench, or a table with chairs, with the offer of sun cover if you want it. The lovely view of the river with a bit of bird watching is a wonderful way to enjoy a meal! The only thing I really didn't like was that they use those awful paper straws for their drinks in the interest of being environmentally conscious. I appreciate the sentiment, but there are sturdier compostable straws that exist! I don't know why these terrible straws are still around, plaguing cafes everywhere. Everyone hates them. That's hardly something that would keep me from going back though. ☺️ I'll be back soon.Dietary restrictions: Gluten free empanada available for $2 more, plus salads.“

My barista (who I think was Emilou!) was very kind, and gave me some guidance on where in town I should check it because I haven't been in Sebastopol since 2007 and it's changed a LOT since then. “Absolutely love this coffee shop! It is one of my top favorites in Sonoma County. Not to mention the vibe & cool decor they have inside the shop. They also sell their own merchandise, which is so neat. Their is also plenty of sitting inside, and wifi available to get work done. Currently they have a Crème Brûlée latte, which is crafted to perfection. It's creamy, sweet & just balanced perfectly. The top of the latte is toasted, which creates a crunchy sugar top. And service here is fast & friendly. Not once have I waited longer than 3 minuets for a drink. Definitely recommend this shop, to meet up with friends, get work done, or simply enjoy or cup of joe in the morning.“

“This place is a real gem. Wonderful teas and the cacao is extraordinary - especially the Euphoria. Just wonderful. The staff are really friendly, respectful and knowledgable. However, it is severely let down by only ONE very important thing for me... the fact that they serve swine meat. For an establishment with such an obvious wellness / spiritual underpinning, I was really shocked to see it on the menu. The most spiritually corrupting of all foods. Whether you are Jewish, Muslim or a shaman in the Amazon, pig meat is always strictly OFF the menu. And why is that?Pigs are the only animals whose organs can be transplanted into humans successfully. Their eyes are so much like ours, it's uncanny. According to cannibal tribes, humans taste like "sweet pork".That's all I'm going to say. Please guys, get swine off the menu!“

Ambience is nice considering the space is a challenge. I normally would not give 5 stars, but Santa Rosans seem to give mediocre establishments 4-5 stars so I thought I'd give an extra star here. The bar in Santa Rosa is a bit lower than the Bay Area. One suggestion I have would be is to install a large mirror on the back wall that faces out to the street. Large !! At least 5 x 6 or more.. they can be found. While it may expose behind your counters a little, the lighting and perception of not windows will do wonders.“

Love the French bistro vibe. We sat at the community table. Not too bad. Didn't like the cold air hitting me every time the door opened but, hey, I've got a seat. Breakfast was a little greasy; I ordered for a protein punch my swimmer needed without it being heavy. It was kind of heavy and I don't think it's their best dish. What I **wanted to order was the roast beef sandwich: For under $10, it's rare roast beef with Brie and tomato jam (Ruh roh, tomato jam? Gimme some of that!) “This is a great place to get croissants and many more. I have bought so many croissants from this location and it is by far the best croissants I have eaten so far in my life. I don't know why people have lef less than 5 star reviews. The guys who attend this place are very friendly and always have a big smile. They are always very friendly, always. I definitely recommend this place. I have been buying from this place for more than 2 years now. Something I really like about the croissants from this location is that they are very crunchy. The croissants from other locations are somewhat soft and it's not my preferred way of eating croissants.“

“Pistachio latte season. I never thought Id crave a pistachio drink, sounds like too much flavor or the wrong flavor for my morning coffee but i wqs wrong. It doesn’t taste too nutty and I’m not sure id guess it was pistachio unless someone told me.Starbucks is a good , consistent coffee and fast food style breakfast as well as healthy options.Vegetarian options: I also am a fan of the impossible sandwich.. (I never thought I’d eat fake meat , my family is Italian and meat is part of what I grew up eating ) but it’s really good - I actually prefer it over the other breakfast sandwiches and pastries ?“
