“The best lamb gyro and chicken kebab we ever had. The chicken kebab was perfectly spiced and really juicy. The lamb tasted really good. The dip that the waitress recommended was excellent. The waitress was really nice. She gave us another plate of pita without charging us! She is so friendly and has a very nice smile!!!“

“We were looking for something unique and in a neighborhood we don't spend a lot of time in, and were so happy to stumble across Taksim.

As soon as we walked in, the smells of deliciousness hit our noses. The staff were very welcoming and also brought over a carrot/ginger soup shot as a little welcome item which was a very nice touch. Throughout the meal the service was stellar.

The food itself was also very good. The flower bread is super soft, airy and the sumac butter just takes it to a whole new level. The dip trio was also a very good idea. You've had these dips before I'm sure, but Taksim's are even better.

The cocktails and wine list are also impressive with some winners along the way. The Black Salt Blaze and the Peachy Bazaar were both very good!

It will allow you to sample everything and still be content. I wish one thing they did differently was double the pita bread serving for the appetizer plate. That’s the only con. We got the burrito breakfast and the Adana Alavion role. I like that non of them were salty. But the Adana kabob was a bit dray, I like it to be more juicy.“

The Cashier welcomed us in and waited patiently for us to order. He answered our questions regarding food on the menu. The waiter brought our food came came to us quickly. No wait time. Very friendly and clean environment.“

Gluten free pita not vegan after checking. Slow service, apologized for the wait taking order. Same for parties after me. Food came out all together quickly though. Very few service people. She didn't have time to check back if everything okay. Delayed getting the check. Friendly service but way understaffed. Sasha the only waitress and only hostess which caused delayed seating and service. Manager came to seat people later. Toast checkout after she finally came back.“

“We got a combo doner (gyro) wrap. I am picky about doner, it is very hard for me to like if it is not really good. But this doner was amazing! Juicy, well cooked, tasty. No additional sauce in the wrap, just like the real Turkish doner! I highly recommend this place. And I’ll definitely try the other meal options in the future.“

The hummus was flavorful and had depth, usually garlic is overpowering but not here. Even the dressing on the salad was delicious. I wish we lived closer.“

“I’d been trying to find a place that sold Dubai chocolate bars in San Francisco and finally found it at Cafe Elena! Their Dubai chocolate bar is awesome! Dark chocolate, pistachio filling, not too sweet. Family-owned business, wife makes the chocolate bars, super friendly owner.“

“Perfect place for a date night. It is usually packed but we love sitting at the bar. The food is delicious. We usually get the mezze platter and octopus. We’ve also tried the kunefe (small but really yummy). We love the atmosphere here as the bartender and waiters are super nice and they generally leave us to ourselves (a refreshing change from most American places where you get interrupted quite a lot). The decoration is beautiful too. All in all: I definitely recommend Dunya.“
