“First time visiting John's grill on Valentines Day. I had no reservations i put my name on the guest list. They said they would call me when they could. So I went to the bar for some drinks and had a great time chatting with everyone there. Lets just say I got a table for 2 within 15 minutes thanks to the hostess and the manager. Great atmosphere and great service from everyone. This is now my favorite place in the Bay Area. Thank you for a great Valentines Day dinner and drinks.“

“We had shrimp cocktail, French onion soup, wedge salad, 20 oz ribeye with a baked potato, and a banoffee tart for dessert. We split each course and the waitstaff had the chef plate it all separately for us which made sharing easier.“

“Peter and his team are flawless. The food is exceptional and the service is even better. From cocktails to apps to the main event, everything is executed at a very high level. The ambiance is superb, honestly the designer needs an award. I would highly recommend this place to anyone and everyone.“

“I’ve been coming to Izzy’s for 35 years. This was the first time I’ve been back since the remodel 6 months ago. As usual the steaks and sides were fabulous. However, the four of us ordered several glasses of wine and the “pours” were pathetic! I don’t mind paying top dollar for a glass of wine but I don’t appreciate a 1/4 glass of wine that was barely two sips! Don’t try to pay off your remodel expenses by cheap skating your wine pours! “We go to Tad’s regularly and are in love! Their food is exceptional. The hamburger steak breakfast has deep flavor, especially with their glorious beef gravy. I always get extra gravy! Their service matches their food with a positive upbeat vibe. Kitchen staff are regularly singing away, probably because they’re having fun. These are just a few reasons why Tad’s is so successful since the 1950’s! Go there!“

“I ate there last week for the first time in several years. The menu is large and many different styles of food. I had the Prime Rib and it was EXCELLENT. There was 2 others in my party and they were equally impressed. Another benefit is that there are no parking problems. I will definitely eat there again.“

“What a nice little place, well kept and unpretentious. The wait staff is on the ball but not at all overbearing, it's a neighborhood joint that's for sure. And...That's the best kind of joint to be! The food was amazingly delicious and well worth the price, it's worthy of a cross-town trek! 5 ☆☆☆☆☆“

“Old school steakhouse that focuses more on flavor and large portions than variety or top quality cuts. If you're thinking Ruth's Chris or even Texas Roadhouse you're barking up the wrong tree. This is more like a diner steak, but executed very well. Your choices are prime rib or NY strip with a short list of sides (price includes salad, potato, and one vegetable). There might have been some kind of fish or mushroom option but no one is ordering it. NY Steak was large, cut about 1/2 inch thick, cooked properly, and smothered in peppercorn sauce. Prime rib was enormous. Prices were highish but fair for the portion and quality. Decor is dated but that's part of the charm. If you want to fuss over marbling and boutique cuts go somewhere else, but if you know what you're getting into this can be a great dining experience.“

“We arrived before our reservation time and they were able to accommodate. Our waiter was great with detailing the dishes and answering my culinary questions. Service was slow. It took nearly 25 minutes to receive cocktails. I had to inquire about appetizers which were ordered with cocktails. The GM was very present and walking the dining area but not speaking to any guests or acknowledging that they are waiting without drinks and food. The food was good. I have a different palate so my good may great for another person. The only negative was how long everything took when it wasn’t a night where there was a full house of guests. If that can improve, we may return. For context we ordered Smoked Bourbon Prickly Pear Margarita Calamari Crab & Artichoke Dip Crab Stuffed Sole topped with roasted garlic and shallot shrimp and a side of mashed potatoes Ribeye with compound butter and Cold Water Lobster Tail We switched from cocktails to wine with the main dish.“

“We came in for a late lunch after checking into our hotel. The food came out fast, I think the owner was our waitress. Their gator sauce was to die for! We did fish and chips and two orders of calamari! I even told one of the neighbors in the hotel to go try it for their lunch today! Can’t wait to go back to visit!!“
