“Our new favorite Sushi place. Have been here a few times and never been disappointed. Service is excellent and in comparison to our previous regular which is nearby, we found this is to be less expensive, better tasting and generous portions. Definitely a must try if you want to deviate from your regular for a change.“

“Last Friday evening our party of 8 celebrated a warm and jubilant birthday, early Father’s Day party. From our arrival to our leaving the entire staff greeted us like family. All of our appetizers, Sushi-Rolls, were delicious! We all loved our Entrees-our seafood was expertly prepared!

“Just wrapped up an early dinner at Taro Sushi and couldn’t be happier with the experience. We ordered the eight-piece sashimi, the Prospect Roll, and the Katsu—and every single dish was excellent. The sashimi was incredibly fresh and beautifully plated, the Prospect Roll had the perfect balance of texture and flavor, and the Katsu was crispy, juicy, and comforting.
Service was warm and attentive, and the whole vibe of the restaurant felt relaxed and family-friendly—perfect for an early evening out.
Taro is a gem in Danville. We’ll definitely be back!“

“Low key, family-run sushi spot out in the burbs. I usually get sashimi or one of the rolls. Now if you want to throw caution to the wind, get the roll called "I don't know". It's chef's choice, and it depends on the ingredients on hand that day. Sometimes it's great, sometimes less so. Regardless, the portion is always generous, and it's always a surprise.“

“The service provided by Michael, Vincent, and Jacqy is a shining exemplar of excellence that motivates and captivates. Their warm, efficient, and delightful demeanor elevates the dining experience, rendering every bite a sublime masterpiece. I am ecstatic to bestow upon them and this restaurant a well-deserved Five-Star rating for their outstanding hospitality and cuisine. Thank you again, gentlemen! PS. My hope is for the establishment owner to acknowledge the exceptional caliber of his team, from the kitchen to the dining, as they are truly the linchpin behind this restaurant's success and reputation.“

“Delicious and definitely fulfilled our sushi craving. I highly recommend Pocket Sushi no chopsticks required easy to eat, full of flavor, and so pretty to look at. I stopped by after work to pick up a few different types of pockets, the service was great and the food was fresh and made quickly. I waited no more then ten minutes for them to make my six item order and they brought it out to my car which was also very nice. We will for sure be back for more!“

“This is my 3rd omakase experience (once in Japan) and each has been different but all wonderful. Tancho is a small restaurant hidden in a shopping plaza in Castro Valley where there’s plenty of parking in the evenings. The Maple Bar seats seven and worth the extra money as you get to see Chef Jason prepare each delicacy and you get a couple extra courses that you don’t get sitting at the table (behind the bar). A party of four with a bottle of Dessai 23 ran us a little over $1k. It’s a great place to go for an anniversary or birthday. We’ll be back soon 😊“

“I recently visited this sushi restaurant and unfortunately, my experience was far from pleasant. I ordered a chicken teriyaki roll, but I got a chicken teriyaki plate. And despite clearly saying 'roll,' the worker rudely insisted that I needed to specify 'roll' next time. This made me feel unnecessarily pressured.
When I kindly asked for the roll to be remade, another worker quickly mentioned that the kitchen was closing soon. Shortly after, she returned with a plate trying to take the teriyaki off my plate saying the kitchen would make it for me, but at that point, the restaurant was about to close and I didn’t want to feel rushed.
Overall, I truly love this place I hope next time they don’t make me feel bad for not saying things “right”.“

“Loved the calamari. Husband loved the mixed udon soup which stayed hot for a while in its metal bowl. The Phoenix roll was good also , (the fried soft crab had a little bit of metallic taste to it). We both agreed the kabocha tempura was the best--the taro and sweet potato were ok. Will have to return to try more things including lunch specials. The menu is quite extensive and has items I have not tried before elsewhere. Great value: food for price. This was a great find. The shopping center has many other Asian restaurants.“

“My favorite Sushi spot in Walnut Creek!!! It’s amazing here. I get the premium omakase and hand rolls every time. (Usually spicy tuna or salmon). The fish is super fresh and my favorite nigiri is the otoro of course.
They have some rolls there that are pretty good as well. The pacific roll is one of the ones we always get. But you can’t go wrong with all the others. Just pick the one with fish you like and it will taste so good.
Also the staff is so friendly and attentive. It’s worth it every time we go :)“

“Ozora has become my go-to place for sushi in the Walnut Creek area. While I usually stick to takeout (the dining room is often packed, which is a good sign), the quality and consistency of their rolls keep me coming back.
I almost always order the same rolls, and the Sora (pictured) is hands-down my favorite. It’s packed with tempura shrimp and crab inside, and topped with salmon, tuna, and yellowtail—perfectly balanced and beautifully prepared every time. Unlike some places that overload the crab or cut the pieces too large, Ozora nails the proportions and presentation consistently.
Their gyoza and miso soup are also solid sides that round out the meal nicely. I’ve ordered from here dozens of times, and the quality is always top-notch.
The staff is friendly, the service is efficient, and even though it’s busy, they handle takeout orders smoothly.
If you’re in the area and looking for reliable, high-quality sushi at a fair price, Ozora is a fantastic choice. Highly recommend—especially the Sora roll!“

“Good food, friendly service, fun times. But when your table is done, move your crew along so others can also enjoy it!! We waited extensively even with a reservation. It stresses the staff and the system and prevents the restaurant from serving more patrons!“

“House of Sake in Walnut Creek is an absolute comfort spot with phenomenal quality sushi! Every dish we tried was a delightful experience. The Spicy Holly Roll stood out with its bold, smoky flavors and scrumptious layers—an absolute must-try. The Godzilla Roll was a petite masterpiece, with a beautifully crafted tempura shell that was perfectly crisp and evenly dispersed.
The Cherry Blossom Roll was another highlight, boasting a clean, fresh flavor and a stunning presentation that was almost too pretty to eat. We also enjoyed the Negihama Cut Roll (yellowtail and green onion) and the New Orleans Roll (spicy tuna cut roll)—both incredibly fresh and satisfying. The creative names for these simple yet perfectly executed rolls added a fun touch to the meal.
Every bite hit the spot, and the attention to detail in both flavor and presentation is second to none. Highly recommend House of Sake for anyone seeking exceptional sushi and a memorable dining experience!“

“Chose to come here on a spontaneous Wednesday night and ordered the nigiri and sashimi boat for our table of 3. We could see the chefs carefully crafting the boat while we enjoyed some of their appetizers. Food and service was amazing!! One of the servers saw us playing a game on our phones and striked up a conversation with us, he was so incredible friendly. Will definitely come back again!!“

“This place is such a hidden gem. The sushi is incredibly fresh, and you can really taste the quality in every bite. The caviar just melts in your mouth, and the rolls are perfectly balanced.
It’s got a cozy, unassuming vibe, and the service is super friendly without being overbearing. It feels like one of those spots you want to keep to yourself but also can’t wait to tell your friends about. Definitely worth checking out if you love good sushi!“

“Excellent sushi place. Restaurant is very well decorated inside. Staff was very friendly and attentive. They brought us miso soup as soon as we sat down. “I always have a great time when I come. The quality of the food is great with good portion sizes, especially for the price. The menu is huge so everyone can find something to get.My favorites are the hamachi kama, green beans, house salad (they put a lot of dressing, you can always ask for less), fried rice, and honestly any of the rolls (I've had several of them and I liked all of them)!Staff is always super friendly, attentive, and treat you like family.“

“Finally decided to order from here. Checked out the reviews. Most were pretty dated. Settled on the titanic roll and spicy chicken ramen. The titanic roll was Amazing!! It was fresh, hot, big enough to split (I didn't). Flavor was on point. Don't really remember a crunchy component but I wouldnt hesitate to order it again. The spicy ramen on the other hand was extremely subpar. Great portion size for the price, but the broth was flavorless. The chicken was definitely dark meat. The veggies and ramen were overcooked. Chicken bouillon, salt and red pepper flakes were a must to achieve the flavor I was looking for.“

“Loved this place, but removing a star because they took the teriyaki salmon option off the menu. Strange, because everyone loved it and it was often sold out! The raw fish is hit or miss. Bring back the teriyaki!
My roommates and I check doordash every week or so, just to see if they have Salmon Samba.“

“Stopped by for lunch at 2pm and plenty of seating inside. I used the self order kiosk on the table, which made ordering a breeze. The sushi rolls came out in about 8-10 minutes and they were huge rolls.
I typically eat two, but I coule barely finish these. They were incredibly filling and each roll was less than $12, which is a great deal in 2024. Service was excellentand I really enjoyed the meal. I get work done on my car across the street often, so i'll be stopping by whenever i'm in the area from now on.
Parking: It seems like there are about 12 or so spots, but also plenty of parjing along E.14th in front of the restaurant, as well as the side street which crosses it.
Wheelchair accessibility: Plenty of access for wheelchairs.“

“This is my favorite restaurant in Pleasanton. The prices are unbeatable and the quality of the food is very high. The $14 bento is great value as well, and the portions on all of the items are pretty generous.
I've been here many times in the past, and the quality is always consistent. The service isn't perfect but it's usually pretty fast. It's also usually not very busy during dinner.“

“One of our go-to places with super friendly staff which always goes the extra mile to make us feel welcomed, seen and appreciated.
The Food - especially their Dinner Special - is great, portion sizes just right, different options and still assembled and delivered to the table within minutes of ordering. And both Nigiri and Sashimi have sizable chunks of Fish and well prepared!
Kid-friendliness: Servers interact wonderfully with the kids, recommending suitable food and engaging with them in conversations. There are often families with Kids here, a testament to their appeal.“

“Very impressed. I'm a bit of a sushi connoisseur. I travel for work and usually find the highest rated sushi restaurant in each town I visit. While this wasn't the highest rated, it was walking distance from my hotel and convenience won out. I wasn't expecting much from a strip mall sushi restaurant, but the quality ended up being on par with some of the higher-end places I've been to. The fish was very fresh with generous portions on the nigiri. The chef and hostess were both very friendly. I didn't eat inside but the place looked very clean and decorated well. Prices were very fair, especially considering this is the bay area.
I'm only in town one more day but I will definitely try to return. Highly recommended.“

“We came in right around when I imagine the Sunday lunch rush had ended because for the moment we were the only two in the entire establishment. Things that stand out, the atmosphere is great. Being next to a busy intersection you'd expect a lot more road noise but it was relatively quiet inside. Great, and quick service.I can certainly see myself becoming a regular here because their chicken teriyaki is delicious. While the food was great my only gripe is parking. Good luck, and if you can park nearby it's worth the walk.
Parking: The lot behind the restaurant is private and belongs to the surrounding apartments. Street parking is very hit or miss. Parking across the street at the BevMo! and crossing seems to be the best strat for this location if your driving.“

“Sushi to go near San Ramon, Danville and Blackhawk areas. The sushi is fresh and reasonably priced. There is no table here, just a counter to order for pick up. It could get busy at times so I'll advise to use their online order or call to place your order ahead of time. My family and I found this from our friends recommendations and this is now our to go place for sushi cravings.“
