This time, I decided to stay a few days at the new Home collection lodging and the getaway was completely remarkable. “It's the place to go for quality champagne and brandy. I buy a case of the red wine champagne every fall. (Delicious!) I ordered the blackberry brandy online and rode my motorcycle to pick it up. (Nice ride!) There's a tasting room and small deli on-site. Clean bathrooms and helpful staff. I gave 5 stars because I didn't eat there, so if I do and the food (and service) are as good as the rest, I will update this review.“

They don't have a fryer (!) so no fries or fish and chips but they seem to have other good options. I wouldn't call them cheap but they aren't expensive either. Our first waiter was Ben and oh how we loved him so we always asked for him when we would go in. Sadly, Ben moved out of the area but then we got Danny! Another fantastic server and now we always ask for her! Can't vouch for the other servers but my guess would be that they are all good! Susie is the owner, and she is wonderful! She always mingles with her guests and even gets many of them up dancing! I hope she knows how much her regulars appreciate her! I'm so glad we found this place because we do not live out there. We live in Santa Rosa, and I must say it is always worth the trip out there for a great evening!“

“I’ve been coming here for over a decade (though only in fits and starts). Every time, I am very happy. I sit on the deck looking over the river, order a drink and a meal, and chat with friends and locals. I leave satisfied.

The staff? Good at what they do and occasionally exceptional at banter. The food? Average to outstanding. The menu has changed over the years. But it hasn’t gotten worse. If anything, it is what you would expect from bar food in this area and priced fairly. The wait time? Not sure why people are harping on this. Do you have a prior engagement at the opera? The beers? They are fine. The mixed drinks? They are also fine. The atmosphere? Unforced local/townie (and I don’t mean that as a slur). Sure, there are some ‘interesting’ people hanging out. But what do I care? I am a guest. Don’t poke the bear and don’t get the reaction. Poke the bear? Be prepared to engage with ‘interesting’ people who live here. Seems like common sense.

This last visit, I was with a group of nearly a dozen people. Some had been here before. Some hadn’t. Everyone had a great time. That is what a place like this, in a place like this, should do. Support locals. Get out-of-towners to spend their money and leave happy.
