“My husband and I were recently recommended to try Dolly’s restaurant and we’re so glad we did. From the moment we walked in, the whole experience felt relaxed and welcoming. The hosts and owners were incredibly warm and friendly.

The food was delicious. We loved the cheese wheel pasta, the bread and tomato salad, and they also had a really good wine selection. As a small business owner myself, I always appreciate supporting local family-owned spots that truly care about good food and good service. Dolly’s is definitely one of those places. We’ll absolutely be back.“

“This spot is a lot more informal and hipster than I thought. I wanted a cozy pub-type place with a comfy chair or couch where I could drink a beer and read a book and this fits the bill. I know it's a wine bar but as I'm not really a wine drinker I can't comment on the selections but I'm sure they're fine. Plus they play records on a mostly vintage hi-fi the whole time.
If you like wine, go here. They also have cheese and charcuterie plates and olives etc.
Groovy places like this are pretty rare on this otherwise fairly bleak part of San Pablo Ave. A welcome addition. Cheers!“

“On a recent visit to SF I had brunch with my son. Without a doubt the best food I’ve had in a long long time. The great food quality was what really got to me. I’m from the Caribbean so I need spice and flavor in my food and the flavors were so unique and interesting and the owner and her Chef hubby were so fun and genuinely nice people.

“As expats in Europe for many years, we find this restaurant a wonderful French bistro in SF. In a city full of good dining options, this one reflects a cool ambience, wonderful foods and excellent service - attentive but not overwhelming or pretentious. We ordered a number of starters - shrimp, omelette, country pate and the bread - of course, the bread... The main comprised 3 roasted chicken (our family loves a wonderfully roasted chicken - crispy skin and succulent inside).... as well as a halibut. Each of the dishes are on point... Just a note - the wine pricing is on a high side given the proximity to the wine country. The gentleman who took care of us was wonderful... checking in on us at the right time... Just a great experience.“

“If you've ever been to Les Deux Magots in St. Germain, this is the spot to check out, hang out, sip, while snacking on something freshly made in front of you.
The ambiance will get you first, the attention to detail say's a lot about the love put into La Loulou. The service is fabulous, they will remember your last drink. I'm a quirky 'orderer' and they remembered the nuance of how I like my drink.
Also, don't forget to checkout the bathroom.

“Food and drinks were amazing. We had oysters, calamari, Caesar salad, lobster lasagna and hanger steak. For dessert we had the sorbet and tiramisu. The star of the show: the staff but specifically our server Maggie was also sooo amazing. We were celebrating a birthday and a farewell dinner and she made sure we had the best time! As a F&B manager, I love a good dining experience and this was it!“

“Greeted by very kind and accommodating staff, we were originally a party of 3 which became 4 (1.5hrs later) then finally 7 (another 1hr later). They sat us at the back which was cozy and very relaxed then to the patio at the front when we became a larger group. We were probably a headache but they made all the accommodations effortlessly.

Wine: love the concept of being able to choose your own (selection displayed inside) or being served based on your craving. We enjoyed all the bottles we had, combo of chilled reds and orange wines.

Food: meat board, holy shit the prosciutto was delicious, so delicate and easy to eat, no chewiness at all. Really enjoyed the flatbread that came with it. My only complaint is the portion, wish I had more.

Overall, a great place for quality time and conversation. We never felt rushed. I almost felt bad for not ordering “enough” for such a big party.

“Walk 10 minutes from MacArthur BART and you’ll find paradise in the form of a wine bar. Zach (head chef) and Emilio (line cook) are formerly of Verjus in San Francisco, and let’s just say we followed them across the bridge for a reason. Their expertise and attention to detail are evident in every bite — or sip! ;) On top of this, the service is impeccable. Our waiter, Nico, was a real gem! Thank God he moved from SoCal! Anyways, don’t take my word for it… you’ll just have to try this place for yourself!“

We were met with such incredible warmth from the staff and the environment itself, even without a reservation. We sat at the bar and were greeted by Josh, only to find out later that he is the owner. He made excellent recommendations on everything from our drinks to dessert. The bar didn’t feel isolated from the rest of the restaurant and guests, but rather was lively hub frequented by kitchen and serving staff and warmed by a smoldering wood fire. The coziest. We swooned for the poke appetizer, complete with house-made toasted, but not crisp, blue corn tortillas. The pork shoulder tacos—also to die for. I have to say though, that the star on the sidelines was the beans. I honestly didn’t know I could feel this way about beans…but I digress. Josh bounced around from table to table all night, never letting a single ball drop, making every guest feel like *his* guest. A pot de crème sealed the evening in perfect bliss. I’m back a month later with the same friend, eating different and somehow even more incredible entrees: ribeye, halibut and a rhubarb crisp for dessert. “Super cute wine bar just across the street from Cafe Zoetrope. We were there for a calligraphy class but my daughter was feeling ill so we sat outside for a bit. The sommelier was kind and empathetic; he offered us waters and was talking to her to make her feel less embarrassed. While we were waiting, he even helped a lady park her car. So while we didn't have wine or food, the service is top notch and we'll go back!“

“If you are a caviar lover, you have to go here. They have caviar from their own farm and it is a sustainable operation. The prices are fair for caviar. No, it’s not cheap, but if you consider a small spoonful of caviar at a restaurant is upwards of $50, it’s a solid price. My favorite caviars/roes I’ve tried in order of enjoyment: golden osetra, osetra, estate, baerii, truffled whitefish roe. If you are curious about caviar, Tsar Nicoulai is the best place to give it a try at a reasonable price. Their caviar is wonderful.“

One note: they could make the outdoor area more lively so more people are inclined to sit there. Right now there are some great seating options but the vibe pales to inside.
Maybe add some lights? Low volume music? Water station?

Tonight my rating was 3.5 stars in service only because my sister and I got a lemon drop (not a double) and a tonic water and it was $35! The restaurant took it upon themselves to add gratuity automatically. I don't know if this is the rule in general or just the event, but regardless it was very off putting.“

“We’re visiting from out of town, and I came here with a friend who drove in from San Jose to spend the day with. We went on a Saturday for brunch, and we got the breakfast pizza to share with a side of bacon and roasted potatoes. The pizza and bacon were delicious, but the potatoes I would pass. “We discovered The Study Wine Bar after warching the Richmond Marina 4th of July fireworks celebration on July 3, and it turned out to be a fun surprise. We only planned to have a glass of wine, but ended up staying for karaoke! While the wine was average, the atmosphere was fantastic—lively, welcoming, and full of energy. It was a great place to relax, enjoy the music, and spend the evening. We'd definitely come back for the fun vibe.“

“A friend had mentioned Embarc Wines, and I was looking forward to checking it out. I had never been to a place with wine on tap before, where you can select your own wine and serving size, though I've been to similar spots that offered beer instead.

A few of us went on a weekday evening after a gym class, and fortunately the atmosphere was casual enough that we didn't feel underdressed. It was pretty quiet, and there were still plenty of high-top tables and lounge areas available when we arrived.

The staff were friendly and explained how everything worked - they link your credit card to an Embarc card (with a QR code), which you then scan to select and pour your wines. I appreciated that there wasn't really a pricing incentive for larger servings - so, in a way, that made it easier to try smaller 1 oz tastings of multiple wines without feeling pressured to commit to half or full glasses, which is ideal if you enjoy exploring different options like I do.

We were a bit pressed for time since they closed at 8pm that day, so I'm def looking forward to coming back to try more drinks (they rotate their offerings) and spend some more time enjoying the ambiance.“
