Not to mention, the prices are fantastic, especially for LA. While we didn’t love every dish we ordered (learned we didn’t like the ‘gravy’ dishes very much), and it hasn’t replaced our other favorite options in Whittier and Van Nuys, still a good spot.

We need to come back again to give it a second try.“

“You will never get a sub quite as lovely as these. I don’t know why they’re so good, maybe fresh bread and fresh ingredients IDK but Turkey extra chili is my fave!! Mom loves Milanesa and the fried sides are YUMM too! I learned how to make my voice heard at the old little market. The big construction men at lunch time would be shouting out their orders. I was 11 years old and had to shout my order too!! Been a patron since 1982!!“

“I went here for the first time on a Monday evening. The service was really good and on point on this day. Staff was always checking on us, always making sure our stove was clean or removing finished dishes. I got us the Deluxe meal. The spicy baby octopus was good. The gyōza dumplings and egg rolls were really good. They have sushi as well. Their menu can be accessed by QR code or you can ask for a physical menu.“

The original Jolly Jug was in South El Monte in the 1930s and people came from all around to eat their famous Pastrami’s and Beef Dip sandwiches. “The food was amazing, very hot and a lot of food for the price. I was not able to finish the house special but it was just as good the next day. The veggies were very fresh and the noodles and meat were great. The broth itself was amazing!
The Thai tea and beef rolls were fantastic, I had to order another Thai tea to go because I couldn’t get enough!
The flavor of the food was great and it is definitely one of my new favorite spots for pho. Will and have recommended to anyone looking for a good authentic pho spot!“

“Employees are nice and food is decent. Huge portions and you can order a combination of white rice, fried rice, or chow mein. I personally like the mushroom chicken the most.

Don't come here right at open like I did. They only had about 1/3 of the dishes ready. I recommend coming in half an hour after opening.“

“Absolutely delicious! I decided to try this place today and I'm immediately reviewing to get people to support this local gem. I had the tofu vegetable combo plate and it was tasty as hell. The tofu was soft, the veggies had the perfect bite, and the brown sauce was well seasoned. The entire dish was warm and light enough that I almost cleaned my plate despite it being so satisfying. I'm happy I was able to bring some home for later and will be going back regularly now!“

It was our first time here with friends and family for breakfast, I must say enjoyed our meals which ranged from pancakes, waffles, musubi, sausages, bacon, wow! Delicious!

It is a different set up, than any other restaurant we've been to, you go up to the counter, place your order and then you find a seat. Similar to a fast food restaurants when ordering. Other restaurants we've been to gas a hostess to greet you, take the amount of people in your party then shows you to your seats. 😋“

“The burrito 🌯 from here was ok. It tastes a bit salty. I also noticed they add a lot of meat to the burrito 🌯. I honestly got really full with this burrito. The agua de melon 🍈 did not taste organic, and it was a bit sweet, but it was ok. I appreciate the service here 🙏. Thank you.“

Very small area for indoor seating - almost as an after thought, this is a mostly take out kinda place. We have enjoyed the Beef Pad Thai, BBQ Pork Fried Rice, and Orange Chicken, so far. It is CASH ONLY at time of review, and has been for awhile as far as I know.“

“This is one of those local gem mom and pop restaurants that everyone loves. Great sandwiches, great onion rings and good prices. The restaurant itself it a little dated and the owners say very little, but the food speaks for itself. I've been coming here since I was a kid and will continue coming until I no longer can.

“I had a bowl of pho at Pho 99 and it was amazing! The broth was rich and flavorful, the beef was tender, and the noodles were just right. Everything tasted fresh and authentic. The staff was friendly and the place was clean and cozy. Highly recommend for pho lovers!“

“I think this place is great ! The food has that great Mom and Pop Restaurant feel and taste. I never really wait here long even if there's a line , also when it's busy the quality doesn't go down! My wife has been coming here since she was in highschool and then she told me about it and fell in love and have been coming here ever since, for burgers , grilled cheese , tortas , asada fries , chile rellenos! The turkey served in a similar fashion also has great flavor which is hard to achieve considering that turkey generally is dry.

The restaurant is a bit old but look past that and enjoy the food and service...the lady server and i believe her husband is the chef but both are very attentive.
