Be sure to check out their specials and soups. Had the chicken and vegs soup because i was under the weather and it was like a home styled chicken noodle soup (without noodles). Great low calorie option. They had a special on chicken marsala and it was soooo good.
They have a large menu to chose from for different dietary needs.

“This spot is definitely your old school neighborhood bar where everyone knows each other. I was there for a bday celebration.... it was cool for a random eveing. They had kareoke and one pool table. Cocktails seemed to ok for the crowd; no quality wine selections for me so it was a dry night. Overall the music made it was enjoyable.“

“Every time I book with Open Table, I list my allergies (numerous) but it's generally hit or miss whether anyone actually reads it ahead of our arrival or acknowledges it when we check in. Not so at Taksim! 5* just for the level of seriousness and attention they paid to making sure I knew exactly what was in each dish, what I could/couldn't eat. They had even looked at possible cross contamination on labels. That level of service is extraordinary and shows how important their level of customer service is! Food was excellent. Fun place. Definitely a keeper.“

“This was our first time here. We thought we'd try Tunisian food. We had the deviled eggs with shrimp as an appetizer and it was excellent! I had the stuffed peppers, and hubby had the lamb tagine. We both liked the food, and the sauces, and the bread, and finished almost all of it. We took a couple pieces of the homemade bread home with us because it was so good. We liked this place a lot, and will come again soon.“

“I love Mediterranean food, and sorely missed the Armenian Gourmet in Sunnyvale when Aram retired. However, Tio's has fulfilled my expectations for delicious food at a great price. I never liked falafal until I ate it at Tio's where it is moist and flavorful, compared to other restaurants where it is as dry as cardboard. I love the lamb and vegetarian sampler. The staff is friendly, helpful and remembers us by name. I have always been very happy with my whole experience there.“

“It’s a small establish but the food was fantastic. I had chicken kebabs, rice and hummus. Berkeley does have a good amount of wonderful places to eat and this one was really great. I’m glad I came here to eat and cannot wait to go again.“

“The hummus with chopped chicken on top was absolutely delicious. The texture was extremely creamy, almost like mousse, and the flavor was rich and authentic, just like in some of the best hummus places in Israel. I’ve been to Israel and know the food well, and this is the real experience!

The salad as a starter was also very fresh and tasty, and the pita bread was soft, warm, and clearly freshly made. The service was very friendly and attentive, making the visit pleasant from start to finish.

The only small downside for me was that the price felt a bit high for this type of street food, but despite that, I would definitely come again.“

I'm writing a review in hopes management will take training their servers about allergies more seriously! We arrived at 5 PM, so when the person who brought our food out wasn't able to understand what we needed regarding the allergy, there were plenty of staff available that could have helped out. Instead we asked that person 3 times, and then 2 other servers. Only one of the three staff members correctly informed us of the type of nut and understood that we needed new utensils to avoid cross contamination - it was a big distraction to our otherwise enjoyable meal.“

“Drove up from San Jose to meet with out of state family and this was recommended. Beautiful atmosphere, fantastic service, and decent pricing. Many great, delicious choices and all with good size portions.
You can eat outdoors or inside comfortably.
Other restaurant owners should send a couple of spies over to observe and understand why a great and friendly restaurant such as Zut! Is always busy with happy customers.
Parking can be an issue on weekends due to that Berkeley area being so popular, but
go for it.“

“I got the chef's creation chicken shawarma and it was very tasty, but I felt it needed a little acid or freshness. I had some of the mint cilantro chutney with it and it helped. The hummus was great and pitas chips were crunchy but needed salt. The real standout food item was the complimentary lentil soup. It was full of flavor and had a nice consistency. For lunchtime on a Saturday, it was not busy so we were served quickly and there was plenty of seating. I thought my food was expensive, but my husband had a create-your-own shawarma and felt his had good value since you can get as many toppings as you'd like. Would go again and try a create-your-own.“

“Love the bowls at Boochmania. Had the Bulgur Bowl with Tofu and it was really healthy, fresh and tasty. This is some nutritious food, the fermented blueberry sauce is great. Tasty stuff. If you order a coffee drink and it comes with a couple biscuits / cookies, be sure to ask for the vegan varietal (one that comes with coffees is not vegan). Cute and small interior. Lots of kombuchas on tap and many other vegan items (hummus, small bites, etc). Great spot although limited hours.“

Now that I occasionally work in SF, I was please to find a Sajj just a block away. Love that the food is fresh and bonus that it is full of flavor.
