“California Chicken Cafe is still, pound for pound, one of the best salad spots out there.

The California Chicken Salad with feta and avocado is my go-to. I usually add green onions and sprouts, then drench it in hot sauce and grab two whole wheat pitas to turn it into my own wraps. It’s simple, but it hits every time.

The app makes it ridiculously easy — order ahead, pull up, grab your food, done. No friction.

Also, the combo wrap (I think it’s called the Melrose Wrap now) is another solid move.

“I decided to give this place a try after having heard a lot of great things about it. Usually when I want good fried chicken i end up going to Gus's but i figured it was time to try some place new for a change. I ordered take out and the food came out the way I expected it. The chicken had a similar batter as Gus's does just minus the spiciness. It was good but it lacking on flavor in my opinion. Salty but no spice. Sure they gave me hot sauce cups for the chicken to help out but i prefer how they do it at Gus's instead. The mashed potatoes i got were good though, I enjoyed the flavor and the good kick the gravy got too. The fries were okay. I believe they are regular 3/8 of an inch straight cut fries with their own seasoning. So think crinkle cut thickness but straight instead. The biscuits were good though too. Nothing crazy about it but it was more bready than flaky if that makes sense. Something different but it was good. All in all my visit here to Honey's was alright, food was good but it wasn't enough to change my mind about Gus's and I still prefer to go there instead. But I think this place is still worth a try for those who were iffy like I was. It didn't know my socks off but it was still good nonetheless. I might have to come back and try the chicken sandwich or something else on the menu next time.“

“I make a pick up order so I don't know what the atmosphere is like but the food and service for pick up all really good. Highly recommend. I got a whole chicken and used it throughout the week for lunch and dinner. I also get their bottled dressings and salad and make wraps for lunches. I love their mashed potatoes and gravy. I also like the vegetable soup, very flavorful. Not a fan of the sweet mashed potato it was a bit watery.“

Bacolod Chick’n Inasal truly delivers an authentic taste of Bacolod City right in Los Angeles. Their famous Chicken Inasal is absolutely exceptional—perfectly grilled, incredibly juicy, and bursting with flavor that’s spot-on with the original recipe you’d find in Manokan Country. We also ordered the Batchoy, and it did not disappoint at all. The noodle soup was rich, comforting, and equally delicious—clearly made with care and authentic flavors in mind.

“Short version: shockingly good.
Long vers: writ Feb '26. Had the Original. This is waffle folded like giant taco. Inside is crispy chicken, like a breast piece or large chicken tender. Also coleslaw inside. Drizzled over is hot honey sauce/syrup.
The slaw is excellent, not soaked in dressing. The waffle is light, fluffy, & even crispy on edges. The chicken is great, not dry, crispy, great seasoning. Whole thing is served in a cardboard V holder. Use the holder to grip the whole thing & eat like a taco. Hot honey pools in the V so don't tip it over yr silk dress , ha ha.
Whoever dreamed this thing up paid attn to the details. I even tasted a hint of coffee, in the breading I suspect. Nice texture/crunch/mouth-feel.
Upstairs is a sizable lounge area with a pool table.
Sweet tea is also good, just a hint of sweet.“

“CCC recently changed their green and red salsa recipe and I’ve got to say it is super delicious. The previous recipe was okay, but this new recipe is so good I had to write a review. I always order from them for the food,but this salsa is very very good. The salsas are now Roasted. Keep it up.“

“They have the best gorditas around! It’s been a min since I’ve been back. Arrived on a Monday late afternoon and no one was there. Oh yes, call ahead if you want to order the gorditas. Like I mentioned previously they make it from scratch so it takes some time. The lady on the phone said my to go order would take 20 mins. Decided to eat it there and my heart melt! “I was looking for food for my kids during the worst fire season of LA County’s history. Our favorite spot is closed and my daughter mentions she saw someone on YouTube review this spot in another state. I don’t usually eat food served in a gas station but the chicken, beans and rice, wedges, and biscuits were amazing. I must agree with Sam J (quote from napkin in pic) and say that this chicken is totally worth it. We took it home and it was still very crunchy and tasty. 😋 definitely coming back. “my experience here was great. I came close to closing on Sunday 08/11/25 and the cashier at front told me what they still had prepared. Then when he realized he was out he informed me it would be about 15 minutes while they made it fresh, which i was ok with. During that time i also witnessed the cashier handle a slow customer, and a loud but not necessarily rude customer. That cashier is a solid employee, management you'd do well to keep him. The chicken was also great. Jollibee level chicken, which i feel kfcs all over the place have been falling behind in recent years.

That's right KFC's got television at least at this location.
Always parking available even during rush times. And don't even get me started on the service. Well it's top notch to. Dining room area is ultra clean with large Windows to look out at the traffic as it goes by while you're enjoying your chicken. Heads up drive to the window on passenger side.
Attention senior citizens it's a real quiet place to have something to eat.
And yes they have a restroom to just ask for the keys.they will immediately let you in with that being said enjoy some great chicken at a clean spot

“Food was normal KFC quality. I asked for 3 piece (meal) and the cashier never asked 3 pieces of chicken or 3 pieces of chicken meal? She said mashed potatoes and gravy and I said yes. KFC offers several side dishes. Got my order without Cole Slaw and I said the picture shows all of the above with biscuit. There is no indoor seating, only outdoor; 2 tables with 4 seats and 1 table with 1 seat. 3 guys were at 1 table and a homeless man had all his stuff on the seats and on the table. I was left with 1 seat table that faces the wall. I thought I lost my seat because I had to go inside and clear up the mess with the Cole Slaw, I think I paid more because I paid for 2 sides separately. I went way out of my way to this KFC because there are not many in Santa Monica or Venice (where I came from). Everybody left and I moved to a better seat with a view of the street to finish my soda.“
