“We were visiting from Canada and came across Wild Bird while we were looking for a late night supper spot. Upon arriving, Joe greeted us and made the whole experience fantastic! “I am 65 years old. We had dinner at Humble Bird Saturday night. I have never, repeat, NEVER had chicken this good. Crisp, juicy (but not dripping like other places), no grease in sight. We got mild, but used the hot honey supplied and what a combination of flavors. We also got potato salad and slaw. Both great additions to an already wonderful meal. The staff was really friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. The place was spotless. I live north of Seattle, but would consider driving down just for more of their chicken...Well, and to visit my kids.“

“I was first introduced to Nashville-style hot chicken at Hattie B's in Nashville. Although I've never found anything quite like it here in Los Angeles (Hattie B's chicken serves bone-in whole pieces, marinated through), I'm addicted to Dave's, and love the Extra Hot! (I'll stay away from Reaper...I don't need to try something that requires a signed waiver!)

My go-to is the #4, and their fries are great too. The extra pickles they include are a really nice touch, and the sauce is a the perfect alternate to ketchup, and really goes with the chicken.

The staff is always friendly and helpful, and I can order at the counter, at a touch-screen kiosk, or on my app. The app has kind of become the easiest option for me now that I've gotten the hang of reordering my usual. I try to limit my fried, fast-food meals, but Dave's is usually my first thought when I'm in the mood to indulge in that kind of treat. If you like spice, it's a must-try!“

“As a Regular here, I’m surprised I have not reviewed this fine established yet! My family and I literally eat from this location ONCE A WEEK! It’s either via DoorDash or GrubHub who ever offers the most Discount that week ;) unless I’m in the area I’ll pick it up. Personally if it was my wish or hope I would replace them with all of Dave’s. I’m surprised they only have 2 locations. The sandwich burst with flavor and most recently Im addicted to the Burrito. “This place rocks! Friendly staff and convenient location make it a weekly essential. Their online ordering could be better but we always call ahead for pickup and it’s super easy. The double sandwich combo is the best deal on hot chicken you can find anywhere in the area, hands down. The fries are crispy and well-seasoned and the sandwich is fresh and has everything you’d want: breading that doesn’t sacrifice flavor for spice, crunchy slaw and pickles, and juicy chicken, all on a toasty brioche bun. I’d put it up against bigger name hot chicken places in the area that will cost you a whole lot more money.“

“Great food it’s just that my delivery person was too lazy to enter my apartment door code and keeps saying it’s not listed and he’s waiting there and he’s supposed to come up to my apartment door and leave food at the door of my unit and after a while my food was yet delivered where I wanted it except it was placed closer to the unit door next door and not the best photo and placing of the item and I had to put on my clothes to get out of my unit and next thing that I see is the bag of my food and delivery driver supposedly touched a bit of my food and the Brussel sprouts are burnt and not edible and they gave me flour tortillas with corn tortillas and corn is what the site automatically set it to“

“I have loved California Chicken Cafe and eaten here for years, including using their top-notch catering. When I moved away from LA in 2021, this was the place I missed the most. I recently stopped by the Encino location while in town and grabbed my favorite wrap. It was just as incredibly fresh and delicious as ever. The consistency is amazing. My only wish is that they would bring back indoor restaurant seating. I love this place so much. I really wish they would open a location in the Portland, Oregon area!“

“They have the best gorditas around! It’s been a min since I’ve been back. Arrived on a Monday late afternoon and no one was there. Oh yes, call ahead if you want to order the gorditas. Like I mentioned previously they make it from scratch so it takes some time. The lady on the phone said my to go order would take 20 mins. Decided to eat it there and my heart melt! The salsa is bomb, the food is bussin, come support small businesses!

The grilled chicken was incredibly juicy, flavorful, and cooked just right with that delicious smoky flavor you only get from charcoal grilling.
