I recently had the pleasure of dining at Fat Sal's, and it was an unforgettable experience! I ordered the "Fat Jerry" sandwich, which is a glorious masterpiece packed with ribeye steak, chicken fingers, mozzarella sticks, a fried egg, crisp bacon, grilled onions, melted American cheese, and fries. Each bite was a delightful explosion of flavors, and it truly lived up to the hype.

The atmosphere of the restaurant is incredibly cool, with a great design that perfectly complements the laid-back vibe. It's the kind of place where you can easily relax with friends or enjoy a casual meal after a long day.

While I did find the prices to be a bit on the high side, I can assure you that the food is absolutely worth every penny. The quality and taste are simply outstanding! The staff were also fantastic—super friendly and helpful, making the whole experience even better.

“I have been going to roma deli for over 6 years. My kids and I sometimes go grab a pizza while we're washing at the nearby laundry place. They have a large variety of drinks and bottled water.
If we dine in we usually get sandwiches and paninis. With either fries or sides. The staff is always friendly and patient with us. The food is always good. Yesterday we got it delivered, I didn't wanna go out and I don't like ordering from delivery apps so I love that you could order directly from their website. I usually get the grilled chicken caprese panini but yesterday I tried the roma cheesesteak and that was also top tier (chicken caprese is still my favorite though) Literally everything that I have tried at Roma Deli has been good. Also I never remember to take my punch cards, I think you get a free sandwich if you fill up your card. If you have picky eaters, trust me you'll find something on the menu that they'll like.“

“Oh boy, stopped in today for a wrap and was a little overwhelmed by the options. It was between the pastrami and the soujouk and I went with the pastrami. Definitely a great choice. This place is local, it's awesome, and reasonably priced! The only regret that I have is that I should've added mustard to my wrap!“

Budget lunch options in Sawtelle are hard to come by. At NY Bagel and Deli, you can get a good old fashion new york style bagel for less than $10 (including an add on and the egg surcharge). Their bagels seemed to be made in house. I found their everything bagel to be delicious! It was very filling as well.

I came later around 1pm and they ran out of hashbrowns. Hoping they have hashbrowns the next time I visit!“

I haven't been to the dad's deli, Langer's in decades, and forgot what a good pastrami tastes like - only Langer and his daughter do it right, and on the best rye bread in town. “This place is a real hot spot in you’re on the west side of town. They’re know for the breakfast options but the lunch items are just as good. The menu is very large but easy to read as they break down everything into categories. If you can order online, I would but you don’t have to unless you around 15 minutes to wait on your order to which it is cooked to order. Anything you get will be great in taste. I always order a chicken option and they’re always made to perfection. I would definitely recommend going to this place.“

“I stopped in here for the first time today and am very happy I did! I am from New York where we always stopped at Katz. I would say they are a tad bit over priced, but we are in Cali, not much to expect lol. They made it up by how well my bagel was made and how much my partner enjoyed their Ruben. I do think the Super Ruben had a great amount of meat on it and was prepared very well ! I think this was a well worth stop, and if we were ever in a sandwich mood again, I would order here !

“The description of Ike's to me made it sound like Fat Sal's and I was excited. Truth of the matter is Ike's holds its own, and it didn't disappoint. It has a great menu mixed with Meat and Veggie options. The Mrs. and I split and highly recommend the Captain Carl and the Meatless Mike (I concur "best vegan meatball in America", and Our 3 y/o gives the grilled cheese 👍👍. So no, you’re never going to find a store that’s only Ukrainian or only Russian because people in those regions eat similar things. Okay just need to update. I've had the soup several times and each time it is served with delicious rye bread which I cannot have as I'm gluten-free. I mentioned that this time on my online order. Fromins countered with two large pieces of delicious gluten-free rye bread. So this now means I can have the sandwiches that I've been drooling over... Yay! Game changer.“
