“Very good food. Many choices on menu. Downside is they are very hard to get on phone. Also the hours they have posted online, even on this page, show “OPEN” Sunday, when we found out the hard way they are indeed NOT open. Please change your online presence to state correct days/hours. Including Yelp. This would be very helpful. Other than that, I give it “2 Thumbs up”.“

“I really really wanted to give it five stars. I loved the vibe and most importantly how fresh the seafood was. The way the food was prepared shows that they take pride in doing their job. Our order had octopus and shrimp ceviche, which was full of juicy pieces of each generously served. We also asked if they served chips and guacamole, not on the menu but they happily and quickly made it and served with blue corn chips. For entree, my husband got Baja fish taco and I had spicy octopus and shrimp taco. The tacos were so well stuffed it was impossible to pick them up to eat. Our cup runneth over! LOL trust me, you don't need to order more than one taco. The portions are so generous, and the seafood is fresh and high quality. Service was friendly and speedy. Great people, great little business, I truly recommend everyone go support them. The only thing I take points off is the Baja fish taco was flavorless according to my husband. I didn't try it, but he really didn't like it. My food was excellent minus being over seasoned with salt and proportion of tortilla to meat. But all in all, good restaurant, should try.“

The blackened salmon was cooked exactly to my liking – perfectly flaky and flavorful. What truly elevated the dish was the pesto sauce, which offered a delightful savory dip for the fish. The kale salad was a vibrant mix of fresh ingredients, bursting with the sweetness of cranberries, the crispness of red peppers, delicate carrot shavings, the nutty chew of quinoa, and a good crunch from the cabbage. Even the brown rice was notably fresh and well-prepared.
Beyond the excellent food, Spikes offers a wonderfully clean and comfortable seating area with a truly peaceful ambiance. It was the ideal spot to relax and recharge. Sandwich style salmon with kale salad is the other entree offered here. Fresh thin bun surprisingly tastes excellent too.

“I ordered here for the first time for our weekly company lunch. The feedback from my coworkers is great. It's a bit pricey as expected for poke. The lunch bowl is a good size and has lots of texture and the sauce is awesome. I wish they would have a printed menu available so I can post it in the office.
This place is close to work and is far less crowded than the one at the Sand Canyon/Irvine Blvd (parking is terrible at lunch!!) I sure will come to order again next time.“

?Oyters US$???: There are many varieties, don’t miss it if you are an oyster lover! The price is based on the variety of oysters provided that day. It's the same size but not laji, but has a rich and sweet milky aroma. I give it a thumbs up. It has a texture and taste that even people who dare not eat oysters can accept. (But seriously, if you don’t dare to eat oysters at this price, just forget it, don’t waste your money)

??? Gumbo US$26: I thought it was a soup that looked very rich, but it turned out to be more like a slightly spicy and super rich risotto. It goes well with refreshing sparkling wine or white wine. Beer is fine too. After finishing the meal, you can also dip the bread into the sauce, which is quite thick. This dish is really amazing. Because it is so rich, you will feel a little tired after taking two or three bites, but after five minutes, your hand will automatically pick up the spoon to dig in, and then you will be tired again.

?Cajun Lobster Pasta US$???: It really makes me tremble when I see MKT written in the price column. But even if I tremble, I still want to eat. Overall, the seasoning was good, and the lobster meat was sweet and thick. But... I think this dish costs US$80. I would seriously suggest you skip this dish and order other snacks which are more practical.

Had the chips and salsa to start with a side of refried beans which I recommend you order; a cold chelada, which is beer and lime juice, that hit the spot on that warm day. We were greeted by Joe, the manager on duty, who was very kind, professional, and welcoming. Art was our server and is amazingly gifted in customer service professionalism and overall people skills. Yes, showing the love. We started with tequilla drinks from the bar, and we each had a wedge salad. Joe sent us over a wonderful Agnolotti appetizer as well, which was more than kind. “We’ve been going to Capital Seafood for MANY MANY YEARS now and just realized I haven’t made any reviews yet! Well, here it goes… we so love this place! We always go during dimsum hours and we love their dimsum choices! The foods are all amazing and first class!!! The service is even better! Our drinks are constantly filled and they always check if there’s anything else we need. Their manager will also go around and help serve! Eventhough we live an hr away from Irvine now, we still make sure we go to this place at least once a month! Excellent food and VIP service!“

“We had a beautiful meal and noise level has gone way down due to new elements on ceiling. The service was impeccable. Attentive but didn't rush us. I tried the spinach salad with added shrimp for first time as wanted something lighter. It was amazing with warm vinegar dressing. The salmon special was also excellent. Without asking our waiter brought out a tiramisu to share as noticed we were celebrating a birthday. This was probably the best tiramisu I've ever had including those in Italy!“

Food was freshly prepared with a good selection of menu options for your desire.

My only suggestion is to get rid of the self-service electronic machines. Customers prefer an intimate human touch with their dining experience.

“Went here for a quick lunch w a friend. In a very unassuming strip mall with plenty of parking (albeit narrow spots). They have loads of tables and chairs inside and a small patio area. You order at the counter and they bring the food to you in no time.

My friend got the ceviche which comes with a small basket of chips. It felt like it was missing something.... Salt? Lime? Citrus? All of the above?

I got a fish burrito bowl w blackened fish. This style was SO good. Spicy and fresh. The bowl was a little heavy on the rice. I definitely could have gone for more beans and way more lettuce but it wasn't bad.

They have a full salsa bar with really fresh pico and some spicy options which I really appreciated plus super juicy limes. It was awesome.

“The Lumberyard located in beautiful downtown Laguna Beach is a great place to have lunch or dinner. There is a new $16 lunch menu and I decided to try the fish tacos. There was a choice between salmon or halibut for the tacos which included shredded cabbage with a pink cream sauce and a side of black bean and corn salad. I chose the halibut for my taco and it was cooked perfectly. It was a generous portion of fish in each of the tacos so it could easily be split with a friend. The service was excellent. Our orders were taken within about five minutes of sitting down and the food came out quickly after we ordered. I would recommend the Lumberyard if you are visiting Laguna Beach. You will need to have reservations during the Art Festivals or when there is a play at the Playhouse.“

The waiter messed up our order and argued with my wife about how he did not mess up the order and continued to argue with my wife, which further upset me and my parents. I had explained everything to the manager and told the manager that because the food came out wrong and the waiter argued with my wife, that it was time to go because the waiter ruined our meal and our experience. After paying for 3 meals that we did not eat, the restaurant manager was extremely rude, told us to leave, and to never come back. We left very angry and upset. This restaurant ruined our entire afternoon. I do not recommend this restaurant because of the terrible customer service. If you make a mistake, own it, and make it right. Not the case here, they just want your money and send you on your way as fast as possible. If you’re looking for a nice dining experience there are far better options than this place.“

“I highly recommend Las Brisas. I was in California and caught an Uber to Laguna. The Laguna driver recommended Las Brisas. After a day on the beach my co worker and I walked up to the resturant. Our waiter Stan was so personable and knowledgeable. The food was great. I would for sure come back. Being able to see the ocean from our table was a bonus.“
