“Stoped by for a fresh breakfast to start the day. I was promptly greeted and helped to order an omelette. I dined in and enjoyed the breakfast. It’s nice to be able to get freshly prepared food close to the hotel to start the day out. I’m looking forward to trying out lunch next time in town.“

“Excellent food every time we have been… will be back. Everything is great on their menu. 🥰 Tonight we had guest from Montreal, celebrated Mother’s Day and our 23rd Wedding Anniversary! We couldn’t be happier to eat at Vespucci. Manuela and Francesco feel like my southern Italian family. Warm, welcoming, good food and wine and genuine conversation. Love them.“

“Food was fantastic! Covid has hit all restaurants hard and La Stanza was new to Menlo Park opening in January 2020. The owner / chef has his Italian cuisine dialed. The cesar salad was dressed to perfection served on a chilled plate w/shavings of Parmigiano Reggiano.. Delish! My short rib ravioli special was exactly what I was hoping for. Hand made in house pasta baked to perfection. My wife had the sacchettto vegi pasta pocket stuffed w/vegis . The red sauce had tremendous flavor... and perfect to mop up with the bread. 🤪... This place is a must try!“

“Went in for dinner with mom. We had never tried it before. Absolutely delicious and amazing service! Super cute restaurant. We got here at about 5pm... and were seated right away. It's now 6 pm and this place has 2 tables open. I had the lasagna and my partner had the gorgonzola gnocchi and mom had veal cannelloni. I have pictures... but don't see the option to attach them.“

“Rocca delivered the perfect romantic dinner for two in a half-round booth. From the divine Gnocchi with Pesto Cream to the generous Ravioli Bolognese, every bite was a delight. And let's not forget the indulgent Chocolate Mousse for dessert. Impeccable service, a cocktail menu to suit both our tastes, and an atmosphere that set the scene for a memorable evening.“

“A little charming restaurant in downtown San Mateo, homemade bread with delicious dipping sauce. We had fried calamari and squid ink pasta (hand made in the shop) with prawns and mussels exceeding our expectations, definitely will visit again to try other dishes.“

“A hidden gem of a family-run Italian restaurant—don’t be misled by the humble exterior. Inside, you’re welcomed with genuine hospitality and unforgettable food. My husband and I ordered the filet of sole and the white Provini veal scallopini—both were bursting with flavor and perfectly portioned. This isn’t a place for flashy plating—it’s all about honest, delicious Italian cooking made with care. The host greeted us with a warm smile and made us feel instantly at home. The retro, moody lighting adds a cozy, nostalgic touch. We’ll definitely be back! Tip: Make a reservation—this spot stays busy, and for good reason.“

“Our main reason for choosing this restaurant was location. We were meeting with a couple who just flew into SFO, and this made for great convenience for them and us. Little did we realize we were about to stumble across this amazing gem. As a party of 7, we all had the Tasting Menu. Several of us had the wine pairing as well. Every course was fantastic. Beet salad, ravioli with mushroom cream sauce, short rib, and tiramisu. Literally people in our party were licking their forks to get every last bit of the mushroom sauce from the ravioli. Service was warm, attentive, but not obtrusive. Every request was filled with professionalism and courtesy. Definitely recommend, and plan to return ourselves. One item to note: OpenTable's address link to maps takes you to San Bruno instead of South San Francisco. Thankfully we noticed ahead, but it could have been a disaster. Reported to OpenTable and Andiamo In Banca, so hopefully it will be changed,“

“A hidden gem nestled in Silicon Valley’s history.
Vina Enoteca is one of those rare restaurants where everything—from the food to the atmosphere—feels intentional and quietly extraordinary. Housed in the beautifully restored Stanford Barn, the space itself is stunning: high arched ceilings, warm brick walls, and an open kitchen where you can actually watch fresh pasta being made by hand.
The menu is classic Italian but elevated. We tried the spinach tagliatelle with ragù and the burrata with seasonal vegetables—every bite was rich with flavor and clearly made with fresh, high-quality ingredients. The wine list is equally impressive, with thoughtful regional pairings that feel more curated than trendy.
Service was warm but unintrusive. You can tell this team takes hospitality seriously without being overly formal.
Bonus points for the market inside the restaurant! We left with a bag full of fresh pasta, house-made sauces, and a bottle of wine we’d sampled during dinner. It’s rare to find a place that does dine-in and take-home this well.
Highly recommend for a date night, small group dinner, or even just grabbing a bottle and a pizza to go. Palo Alto is lucky to have this spot.“

“Fantastic meal made with care and attention to detail. Fresh ingredients from the farmer's market. Desserts made in the restaurant (normally not done because restaurants otherwise lose money on desserts), even the ice cream. The restaurant is small so they can keep track of everyone and not run their kitchen as an assembly line. The customers are mostly regulars.“

“We were seated promptly upon arrival for our 6pm seating. This was the first time we were seated at the outdoor patio area. It is nice and enclosed with ceilings. It appears to have heaters but they were not on upon our visit. It is nice but not quite the same experience as being seated inside. Service was excellent although we did wait a bit for our check at meals end. we had mostly apps including the fondue which is a great change up. We had a wonderful bottle of Barrolo from a nice wine list. They have a full bar which is a great place to have a night cap before calling for a ride home. Sometimes tough to book but worth the effort.“

“A really wonderful, romantic oasis in downtown Burlingame. All the food we ordered here was delicious. The Italian sausage lasagna was my highlight. The pomegranate and arugula salad was also wonderful. The Bolognese lasagna was solid but not as standout. The complimentary focaccia bread at the beginning was just so-so.
The staff and service are extraordinarily welcoming and friendly. I'd highly recommend a visit!“

“So glad I stumbled across this gem today! William (cashier) was extremely patient, accommodating, and helpful. We ordered a porchetta sandwich, side of fries, double espresso, burger, and scone. Everything we had was delicious - the porchetta was one of the best sandwiches I’ve had. There isn’t a dedicated kids menu from what I saw, but they provided a high chair and most kids survive off fries, so we were fine. Parking is in a private lot and an easy walk from LPCH or Stanford shopping center. The weather was perfect for their patio dining, and staff were prompt to bring our food and clear tables.“

“This meal, which just happened to fall on Valentine's Day, was a lovely beginning to our trip which started with a flight out of SFO. Fortunately I had thought to make a reservation or we never would have gotten in. The service was warm, the atmosphere was cozy and not too dressy, and the food and wine were great. I especially enjoyed my risotto with scallops; while the scallops were small, they were tender and there were plenty of them. We will definitely keep this restaurant in mind when we visit the area in the future.“

“I'm so glad I discovered this restaurant! My friend and I really enjoyed our dinner here. We split the bruchetta special, which featured burata, peaches and sliced almonds. It was amazing. For dinner I had the Cappellaci (housemade butternut squash tortellini), which was delicious. My friend had the Pennette Vodka, which she also enjoyed. The service was excellent: warm, friendly, and very professional. I plan to bring my husband here for date night sometime soon!“

“Solid 4. 75 Stars
We had such a memorable dining experience at Che Fico that we're already planning our next dinner date there.
This place is super trendy and popular with tons of positive vibes. I love the energy from the staff and smiles on their faces.
Dishes were delectable and well presented. Started wth a Caesar Salad. Fresh Romaine lettuce and a tangy dressing with Anchovies. Followed by the Focaccia loaf. Buttery and flaky to the last bite. The Octopus and potatoes were slathered in a lemon Aioli garlic sauce and cooked just perfect. My Chicken Parmesan was packed with flavor covered in a rich Marinara and melted cheese.
We finished with a sweet and crunchy Cannoli and Gelato/Sorbet Swirl.
Sat at the bar and had a couple drinks with our meal and had excellent service from the bartender. I highly recommend you make reservations a day or so before hand as this place is popular. The menu is a bit pricey, but your are served quality food and fantastic service in a cozy and modern restaurant.“

“In truth, I recommend Jessica --the front desk-- who makes sure that I receive extra marinara as well as extra sauce Anglaise... for takeout. Until, we talked, I stopped ordering from Terun on principle. I was a frequent client. Takeout customers must be honored for requests that are gladly honored when in the dining room. Takeout customers should be thanked for not causing dirty tablecloths and dishes -- and LOYALTY. Jessica reinstated that loyalty. I truly hope that the owners appreciate her. Without extra sauces the food is too dry. With it, delicious. The prices honor extra sauces and more!“

“I ate at Pazzo on Wednesday and had a great experience. The restaurant is take out only. I ordered at the restaurant instead of on the phone. The staff were super friendly and helpful with recommendations. The order took about 20 minutes and we had a drink outside while waiting. I HIGHLY recommend the shrimp and grits. Over anything else on the menu! And I was told the gnocchi was amazing too iAnd of course the pizza is awesome!“

“Fiero Cafe is truly a hidden gem in San Mateo! From the moment you walk in, you can feel the passion and authenticity behind everything they do. Filippo Guarino, the owner, pours his heart into every dish, and it shows. His handcrafted Italian food is nothing short of extraordinary, fresh ingredients, rich flavors, and the kind of attention to detail you only find in true Italian cooking.
I tried the catzo sandwich, and it was fantastic, perfectly balanced and absolutely delicious. On top of the food, Filippo makes you feel like family, welcoming you with warmth and genuine hospitality.
If you’re looking for an authentic Italian dining experience in the Bay Area, Fiero Cafe is a must. Do yourself a favor and go, you’ll leave planning your next visit before you even walk out the door.“

“Huge variety of sandwiches, drinks and chips to choose from. They also have salads and breakfast sandwiches.
We had the California Dreamin’ and My Cousin Vinnie on Dutch Crunch, toasted.
The sandwiches are awesome. I liked the shredded lettuce and a vinegar-forward mix that contrasted nicely with the meats.
The only thing that I would have liked a little different is to roll the turkey slices instead of just stacking them, that would improve the mouthfeel and texture.“
